Born in Munich, he first studied economics and graduated in business administration at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in 1995. As he was involved with the stock market at a very early stage, he now has more than 30 years of experience in the capital markets. In the historic dot.com year 2000, he trained as a CEFA analyst in Frankfurt and has since then accompanied over 20 IPOs in Germany.

Until 2018, he held various positions at banks as an asset manager, capital market and macro expert as well as fundamental equity analyst. He is passionate about the energy, commodity and technology markets as well as the tactical and strategic asset allocation of liquid investment products. As an expert speaker at investment committee meetings of funds as well as at customer events, he can still describe the course of the 1987 crash, one of the major buying opportunities of the last 33 years on the stock market.

Today, he knows that the profit in shares is not necessarily the result of buying cheaply, but above all of avoiding mistakes and recognizing in good time when markets are ready to let air out. After all, in addition to basic fundamental analysis, investing in stocks is above all a phenomenon of global liquidity and this must be monitored regularly.

Climate protection, yes, but why is the plan not working out? Nikola, Nordex, Saturn Oil + Gas and JinkoSolar in focus

The world often presents itself differently than it really is. In Germany, for example, there is a shortage of oil and gas, which is a major burden for industry and private consumers. Renewable energies now account for 56% of the installed nominal value of all power plants, but unfortunately, they cannot meet baseload demand. If there is little sunshine and no wind, gas and coal-fired power plants must be shifted up a gear to meet energy consumption. Oil, in particular, remains the base material for 100,000 products that contain plastic. So the green dream of complete independence from fossil fuels will not happen for a while. Where are the opportunities for investors?

In strong upward movements on the stock market, there are always trend stocks that lead the cycle. So far in 2023, GreenTech, IT and AI stocks have consistently produced new highs. Measured by the DAX price index, the market is still 25% below its historic highs, and the NASDAQ 100, the index of technology stocks, is still 700 points or 5% short of its all-time high. However, there are noticeable stocks with promising prospects that have not yet been in the spotlight. Here are some examples.

BYD, Varta and FREYR - who will build the perfect battery? First Phosphate with a big deal!

E-mobility is still in its infancy globally, with just 25.9 million pure electric vehicles on the road out of around 1.3 billion vehicles worldwide. The share is, therefore, just under 2%. Nevertheless, sales are growing strongly, especially in China, Europe and the US. China is the most important production country for electric cars. It is forecast that around 13 million e-cars will be produced in the Middle Kingdom in 2023, more than in Germany and the US combined. The production costs of e-cars are still significantly higher than those of combustion engines. The main price drivers are the batteries, which use rare metals in their production. China's dominance in the field of battery innovations is currently still very pronounced. Where are the opportunities for investors?

Cannabis 3.0 - will profits be made now? Canopy and Tilray under pressure, Cantourage Group positioned superbly

  • Cannabis

For a few days now, a long-neglected stock market segment has been attracting attention again: the cannabis industry. The North American industry protagonists Canopy and Tilray have recently attracted some stock market turnover again, but skepticism remains high. For those investors who did not exit in time, they had to write off around 95% of their investment in the last 2 years, and experts suspect that the revaluation of the former high-flyers is not yet complete. We take a look at the nebulous scenery of hemp speculation.

Gains of over 100% in a single day, such occurrences are rare on the NASDAQ. The stock in question is no stranger: Nikola Motors. Currently, it is mainly the investment commitments for hydrogen projects that are causing investor excitement. In the case of Nikola, it was certainly also a short squeeze, as over 100 million shares had been sold short in recent months. Last Friday, the stock initially surged another 50% on historical volume, but this gain dropped to just 0.3% by closing. High risks, but where are the opportunities?

The stock exchanges ignite one firework after another. While the German leading index DAX has been busy recovering all its losses from July last week, the NASDAQ has already set new records. High-tech companies are leading the way, especially those with AI fantasy. Here, rosy times are expected while the European industry continues to struggle, as demonstrated impressively by BASF's profit warning. In addition to a nice recovery rally in the hydrogen stocks, silver also made a proper move upwards. Here is an overview of the possible "breakouts".

After months of losses, battery-related stocks are in high demand again. Varta and BASF are leading the way with up to 50% gains! Varta is delivering initial results from its restructuring efforts, reigniting investor enthusiasm. The China market leader in e-mobility, "Build Your Dreams" (BYD), has also made decent gains since its spring weakness. The Canadian company Power Nickel is preparing to supply the battery market with high-grade nickel. Which share should be preferred now?

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has concluded her four-day trip to China. The conclusion of the visit is quite positive on both sides, even if Yellen openly admits differences between the two world powers. Relations between Washington and Beijing have deteriorated significantly in recent years over trade and human rights issues, dealings with Taiwan, and a host of other issues. However, the supply situation of strategic raw materials remains an important issue. We examine buying opportunities in the high-tech sector.

Hydrogen ahead of e-mobility! Nucera rises, Tesla falls - What are First Hydrogen, Nel and Plug Power doing?

  • Hydrogen
  • greenhydrogen

The complete renewal of the energy landscape is gobbling up trillions. While the EU wants to spend at least EUR 300 billion over the next 10 years on e-mobility, wind and solar power, there are now already many private investors jumping on the bandwagon. Joe Biden's Inflation Act includes, in addition to some social issues, the energetic renewal of the superpower USA, which has been purely fossil-fuel driven for decades. In the hydrogen sector, the profitable H2 subsidiary ThyssenKrupp Nucera has ventured into the market. With a capitalization of EUR 2.7 billion, a clean start has been made. It will be interesting to see how strongly the parent company ThyssenKrupp can profit from the revaluation of its subsidiary. We analyze the opportunities in the volatile hydrogen sector.

666% rally in 5 years - can Nucera do even more? BioNTech, BioNxt Solutions, and Plug Power could be the winners!

The story of the Mainz-based biotech company BioNTech has set a precedent over the last 5 years. With a remaining gain of 666%, it still ranks among the best performers on the German stock market, even after a 75% price decline. Such movements usually take place on the NASDAQ, where it is easy for highly innovative technology or biotech stocks to raise the necessary growth capital. But not every stock market story is so positive. We go on a pearl diver's journey.
