Gold and silver prices will continue to rise in 2023, as a weaker US dollar and loose monetary policy should drive precious metals higher. There is great joy at Tocvan Ventures in light of the latest drilling results. The team expects the Pilar area to produce similar results to other miners in the region. Precious metals are finding great sales in the solar industry. Investors will learn today the business results of solar panel manufacturer JinkoSolar. The Chinese company has recently been allowed to export to the US again. Commerzbank has to cope with a touch of greenwashing; a district court made a momentous judgement for a subsidiary.

Tocvan Ventures - Test drilling of Pilar project promising

Of all metals, silver has the highest electrical conductivity, making it a valuable ingredient for solar cells and electric vehicle (EV) components. The demand for silver in the photovoltaic and electric vehicle industries has grown steadily over the past decade, and experts expect demand to continue to increase in the coming years as these industries gain momentum around the world, especially in developing countries.

Tocvan Ventures Corp. is an early-stage resource company focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of mineral properties. Pilar, a gold-silver property, has recently produced some of the most attractive drill results in the region. Gold values averaging 1.4 g/t were reported from Pilar, up to 8.3 g/t Au. Reported silver values averaged 11 g/t, reported up to 65 g/t Ag. Results will serve as the basis for bulk sampling to obtain a representative mix of material from surface at Pilar.

From previous surface work and drilling, three primary zones of mineralization have been identified in the northwestern portion of the property, known as the Main, North Hill and 4-T zones. Structural features and zones of mineralization within the structures follow a general NW-SE trend of mineralization. To date, over 22,000 m of drilling has been completed.

CEO Brodie Sutherland adds: "We are getting a representative picture of what the mineralization looks like at surface at Pilar. And how to extract the gold and silver mineralization. We expect the Pilar area to be comparable to other regional mining operations. At the La Colorada silver mine, which is only 80 km away, the average gold recovery is about 6 g per ton and ranges from about 55% to just over 80%."

Gold plays a significant role in forward-looking technologies such as solar, aerospace, and electromobility, which will continue to grow in the coming years. Gold is used as a coating on aircraft windshields to reflect infrared radiation. In addition, gold nanoparticles increase the efficiency of solar cells. Combined with promising gold and silver recovery data from metallurgical test work, Pilar is a potential near-term producer.

CEO Brodie Sutherland walks through the bulk sampling process underway at the Pilar project and explains what this means for the Company's future

Is China getting serious? Rheinmetall and Almonty Industries profit! Varta share on the brink?

Is China really preparing for an attack on Taiwan? It is well known that China is massively increasing its gold reserves. But why tungsten, too? After all, China itself is the largest producer of this raw material, which is not only in demand in the arms industry. However, as noted recently by the CEO of Almonty at an investor conference, the Chinese are currently buying large quantities of tungsten. We can only speculate about the reasons behind this. What is clear is that the Western world needs to secure its tungsten supply. Almonty Industries is already producing in Europe and plans to commission a huge tungsten mine in South Korea later this year. Revenue and profits should then rise sharply and lead to a revaluation of the share. Rheinmetall has undergone a revaluation in the past two years. Can it reach EUR 600? Varta, on the other hand, is on the brink. Analysts do not see any upside, even at the current price level.

RWE, Kraken Energy, Nel ASA - Germany's industry under pressure

    • Mining
    • Uranium
    • nuclear
    • renewableenergies

Germany is pursuing its own path in energy policy and will rely entirely on renewable energies in future. Robert Habeck emphasized that Germany is now independent of Russian gas. However, there is no talk of independence, as Germany has become a net importer of electricity, indirectly importing gas from Russia and even nuclear power. This is because the energy storage facilities in Germany for renewable energies are not even sufficient for one hour. In addition, Germany has some of the highest electricity prices, which is already prompting industry to relocate some of its production abroad. Nuclear power is an emission-free alternative, and many power plants are being built worldwide. Uranium could become scarce here. Whether hydrogen can solve the energy storage problem is currently questionable.

After Gold and Silver: Nickel on the Move! Kinross Gold, Power Nickel, Royal Gold

The geopolitical uncertainties with the escalation between Iran and Israel helped precious metals to further price surges. Despite being technically overbought, gold was able to hold its ground near the USD 2,400 per ounce mark, while silver closed the week with a further gain of around 3%. In the shadow of this, industrial metals are moving into the spotlight after a weak overall year in 2023. Alongside copper, nickel, an important raw material for many low-carbon technologies, has established a solid base in recent months.
