Born in Munich, he first studied economics and graduated in business administration at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in 1995. As he was involved with the stock market at a very early stage, he now has more than 30 years of experience in the capital markets. In the historic dot.com year 2000, he trained as a CEFA analyst in Frankfurt and has since then accompanied over 20 IPOs in Germany.

Until 2018, he held various positions at banks as an asset manager, capital market and macro expert as well as fundamental equity analyst. He is passionate about the energy, commodity and technology markets as well as the tactical and strategic asset allocation of liquid investment products. As an expert speaker at investment committee meetings of funds as well as at customer events, he can still describe the course of the 1987 crash, one of the major buying opportunities of the last 33 years on the stock market.

Today, he knows that the profit in shares is not necessarily the result of buying cheaply, but above all of avoiding mistakes and recognizing in good time when markets are ready to let air out. After all, in addition to basic fundamental analysis, investing in stocks is above all a phenomenon of global liquidity and this must be monitored regularly.

Deutsche Rohstoff, Glencore, Standard Lithium - Millennial Lithium: Find the best commodity stocks!

Metal prices are going through the roof! Since it is clear that e-mobility and decentralized electricity storage have become the top investment topics of the coming years, metal prices are flying. Nickel and copper reached new 5-year highs of USD 18,900 and USD 8,440, respectively. Driven by unexpected industrial demand, mines are also running at top speed. The reason is undoubtedly the underestimation of the fundamental economic trend by market participants, and there is no sign of cooling in the technology-driven manufacturing companies despite the pandemic. Here we take a look at some of the winners of this trend.

Defense Metals, BYD, NEL, Plug Power - Rare earths, who is the fastest?

  • Rare Earth Elements

Scarcity is the issue in 2021! Western governments have completely miscalculated regarding technological progress. They are now being driven by the industry; decisions that should have been made 5 years ago are now being followed abruptly. Since Battery Day in mid-September 2020, it has been clear that a technology giant like Tesla, led by Elon Musk, will enter large-scale battery mass production. What is missing is the complete closing of ranks between battery and car manufacturers so that the produced and expensively developed high-performance batteries are also installed in e-cars through corresponding demand. In coordination rounds between the automotive industry and the EU, the decision has probably already been made: E-mobility will come, and it will come in the big version...!

Osino Resources, Barrick Gold, Aurora Cannabis - Please watch closely!

  • Gold

Bitcoin reached a new all-time high of USD 51,500 yesterday. Bitcoin's great companion is gold. With an interim high at USD 1,870 at the beginning of the month, another correction wave has now been initiated. Yesterday, the price was at a significantly lower USD 1,788. So, it feels like the alternative hedges are now flowing into the crypto market - but for how much longer? Bitcoin is too small to absorb all the hedges against market dislocations. Consequently, gold would have to turn again when the sell-off is over. Therefore, position now!

Cardiol Therapeutics, Formycon, Teva Pharmaceuticals: COVID in focus!

  • Biotechnology

According to recent statistics from the WHO, nowhere is research currently more intense than in the area of viral diseases. At least 248 vaccine projects have been initiated against COVID-19 since January 2020, but only the research projects have already been reported. But of course, we humans do not only fall ill from flu viruses and their dangerous mutants, but the permanent change in our lives alone intensifies diseases that arise from lack of exercise and contact and sometimes cause worse consequences than a flu-like effect. Everyone is currently looking to hopeful vaccine solutions, but several biotech and pharmaceutical companies can still make us healthier with new developments.

Nevada Copper, BYD, Varta: Now it's getting hot!

  • Copper

According to 2020 research from IDTechEx, the introduction of electric traction motors in road vehicles will lead to a significant increase in copper demand over the next 10 years. The study, commissioned by the International Copper Association (ICA), shows that by 2030, more than 250,000 tons of copper per year will be used as part of the windings in on-road electric traction motors. The current increase in copper demand follows the development of the global automotive market. Pure battery-electric cars are expected to gain the most market share at the expense of internal combustion engines and hybrid vehicles. Copper investments, therefore, remain the first choice!

Enapter, Ballard Power, Plug Power, Nikola - The never-ending hydrogen story!

  • Hydrogen

In principle, hydrogen could cover all of our energy needs and chemically replace many fossil carbons. A few examples are climate-neutral fuel for power supply and mobility, manufacturing processes in the steel or chemical industry, as a fuel for heat supply, or as a storage medium for green electricity. The lowest atomic mass element can do all of this; only the universe plays a trick on humankind. The most abundant atom in the universe is virtually non-existent in pure form on our home planet. So, we have to "manufacture" it. Electrolysis, for example, uses electricity to break down water into the elements hydrogen and oxygen.

Bitcoin USD 48,000 - there is not much left until the next level. With these stock market movements, many participants are asking themselves where the fair valuation of the whole thing lies. The question is legitimate, but even at the turn of the millennium during the dot.com boom, anyone who asked simply received a nice smile. People don't ask here; they buy. At GameStop, the new stock market investors didn't ask either. Some earned a lot, and others now own a stock they bought at USD 485 and can now only sell at USD 51. That is a 90% loss in just 2 weeks. This side also belongs to the stock exchange - total losses are possible!

Kodiak Copper, Freeport-McMoRan, Millennial Lithium: The copper rally continues!

  • Copper

The whole world revolves around e-mobility, alternatively hydrogen, and everything is to be paid with cryptocurrencies in the future. That is the stock market at the turn of the year in one sentence. Wherever these topics are mentioned, prices go through the roof. Elon Musk can even turn bad Tesla numbers into a price increase with appropriate music, and tweeting the latest findings makes some people a few million heavier overnight. The copper market is a key control variable for technological developments in drives and storage media. We can't get around this commodity in the real world because it is in very short supply on the planet. So it shouldn't be surprising if the hype here goes on and on.

Silver Viper Minerals, BYD, First Majestic Silver - Position in the silver boom!

  • Silver

The famous gold-silver ratio has been used again and again lately. It is currently about 67; in weak silver phases, it goes up sometimes to just under 100. At about 50, one would be able to identify a historically fair valuation of silver. At the moment, this would be about a spot price of USD 37. Measured against the price targets, which were recently proclaimed by the Reddit community, we are still about 30% away here. But in terms of commodity movement overall, we indeed haven't reached the top yet. Silver is also highly relevant in the context of COVID-19: It has a strong antiseptic and disinfecting effect!

Aspermont, Baader Bank, Bitcoin Group - Here, the turnovers explode!

  • Investments

The stock market year 2020 has gone down in history in terms of turnover, and it continues to rise in 2021. New brokerage accounts are added daily. The lack of interest on savings accounts inevitably drives investors into the stock market - instead of zero interest, it even holds the chance of a dividend. According to a survey, interest in shares among private households has tripled in the last 20 years. Previously, it was just 5% of private investors interested in shares, but in 2019, 11 years after the great Lehman crisis, it was already 15.2%. In other words, stock market service providers and banks have their work cut out for them again!
