The drone pure plays, DroneShield and Volatus Aerospace, have ended their consolidation with price explosions. In just a few days, both stocks rose by more than 50%. Volatus also shines with a follow-up order from NATO. Before the last order was fully delivered, a repeat order was already placed. In addition, a million-dollar order was also secured in the civilian sector. Drone defense is proving challenging in Germany. Why is that? How does DroneShield score? Nordex is also one of the price winners of the year, recently securing a crucial large order. Analysts recommend buying the stock.

Volatus Aerospace: Military and civilian orders provide a boost

Drone high-flyer Volatus Aerospace has impressively completed its consolidation. Since Russia exposed NATO's vulnerability to simple drones, Volatus shares have shot up by over 50%. The Company is also impressing with operational successes such as another NATO order and the development of next-generation drones.

After receiving a NATO contract in August for tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) drones worth approximately CAD 1 million, this contract has now been increased by an additional CAD 700,000. Delivery of the drone systems has already begun and is expected to be completed by September 2025. Volatus' ISR drone systems are designed for rapid deployment, day and night operation, and robust data collection.

Volatus is also involved in next-generation drones. VoltaXplore plans to purchase lithium-ion battery cells from Volatus to power a new generation of drones. The high-performance cells offer greater endurance, faster charging times, and improved performance in cold weather conditions for Volatus' unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) platforms. Both companies are positioning themselves for growth in the civil, defense, and Arctic surveillance sectors.

In addition to military customers, Volatus is also making inroads in the civil sector. For example, it has signed a multi-year contract with one of North America's largest power transmission and distribution companies. Volatus will provide inspection, mapping, and data services for the approximately 100,000-mile transmission and distribution network. This will be done using a remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS). The agreement is valid until August 2028 and can be extended for two years. The revenue volume for Volatus over the entire contract period is CAD 15 million.

DroneShield: Intercepting drones in Germany is not so easy

Alongside Volatus, DroneShield is the second drone play and a favorite among investors. Yesterday alone, the Australian drone defense specialist's stock gained over 10%.

Intercepting drones remains an unresolved security challenge in Germany – not due to a lack of technology, but because of complex regulatory and operational framework conditions. While military conflicts in Europe demonstrate how effectively drones can be used, the protection of critical infrastructure in Germany remains patchy. The reasons for this lie in the difficulty of detecting small, low-flying devices and in legal uncertainty: the use of jammers or defense drones is heavily regulated in Germany. Responsibilities between the federal government, states, police, and armed forces are not clearly defined, causing valuable time to be lost in emergencies. At the same time, the market for drone defense is growing rapidly. According to industry analysts, the "counter-UAS" segment will see double-digit growth in the coming years, driven by the increasing threat to civilian facilities and major events. Specialized providers such as DroneShield from Australia are positioning themselves with sophisticated technical solutions. The Company offers modular systems for detecting, identifying, and neutralizing drones, including radar sensors, radio direction finders, optical cameras, and jamming systems. The DroneSentry-C2 software platform integrates all sensor data into a real-time situational picture, enabling coordinated responses.

In Germany, demand for DroneShield can only truly take off once legislators have adapted the legal requirements for the use of such systems. Until then, drone defense in this country remains a field that is technologically mature but still hampered by regulations – and this is precisely where the opportunity lies for agile technology providers with international experience.

Nordex: Major order and analyst praise

And what is driving Nordex shares? The Company recently received a major order from Turkey, demonstrating its strength in international onshore markets. The wind turbine manufacturer is to equip several wind farms for a regional energy company. This further expands Nordex's leading position in one of Europe's most dynamic wind markets. Turkey is considered a strategically important location because it has consistently good wind conditions and is increasingly focusing on local production and renewable energy. For Nordex, the order is further proof that the Company is back on track for growth after several difficult years.

The latest study by mwb research also underscores this development. The analysts confirmed their "Buy" recommendation with a price target of EUR 26. Nordex has evolved from a phase of low profitability to a solid, high-margin player. EBITDA was already just under 6% in the first half of 2025, and the Company is aiming for 8% in the medium term. The analysts particularly praise the discipline in cost management, progress in the supply chain, and the growing profitability of the service business. According to mwb research, Europe remains the most important sales market for Nordex—especially in Germany, Scandinavia, Spain and Turkey, where the boom in repowering projects and the expansion of AI-supported energy infrastructure are driving strong demand. mwb research sees US activities as an additional growth driver, but not as a prerequisite for achieving targets. The study concludes that Nordex is clearly on track for sustainable profitability. In addition, there is potential for the Company to achieve its EBITDA target of 8% earlier than expected.

Drone stocks are more than just hype. Recent incidents in Europe and orders from the civil and military sectors at Volatus show that the industry is booming. However, with a valuation in the billions, DroneShield is slowly starting to need one or two large orders. Nordex appears to have found its niche in the challenging wind energy market.

Artificial intelligence, electromobility, and drones are some of the topics that are highly favoured by investors. However, one crucial link in the chain is too often neglected: powerful, flexible battery solutions from Western industrialized countries. China's dominance must be broken as quickly as possible. With a new generation of cells, NEO Battery Materials could now shake up the market. The potential is huge, but this is not yet reflected in the market capitalization of around CAD 100 million.

DISAPPOINTMENT at Puma! RENK "Top Pick" or "Hold"? RE Royalties awakens!

We have repeatedly pointed to RE Royalties as an AI beneficiary and dividend gem. The stock has finally been gaining momentum for several weeks now. Nevertheless, the dividend yield is over 10%, and the company plans to continue to push ahead with electricity and energy storage for the AI boom. This suggests that prices will continue to rise. Puma's share price, on the other hand, has been disappointing. The new major shareholder paid EUR 35 per share, but the price on the stock market is below EUR 24. Analysts currently see no upside potential. A takeover could take place in 15 months at the earliest. This means that Puma's operational issues remain in focus. Analysts are divided on RENK. For some, the group is the "Top Pick" in the defense sector. For others, it is merely a "Hold" position.

History repeats itself: Why Antimony Resources now offers the Lynas Rare Earths opportunity of 2010 and could benefit like Cameco

There are moments when geopolitical ruptures disrupt entire industries. Anyone who remembers 2010 knows what we are talking about: at that time, China effectively shut down exports of rare earths amid a dispute over the Senkaku Islands. Western industry was in shock, prices exploded, and a small, hitherto little-noticed Australian explorer named Lynas Rare Earths became the Western world's only hope overnight. Today, 15 years later, we are experiencing déjà vu: this time, however, the focus is not on neodymium, but on antimony – the forgotten metal without which the defense industry would grind to a halt. Once again, China dominates the market, once again export restrictions are being used as a political weapon, and once again the West is desperately searching for a safe alternative. This is where Antimony Resources comes into play. The company is now at exactly the same point where Lynas was before its legendary rise: it controls an antimony project in a secure jurisdiction that can break dependence on the East.
