Despite the chip shortage that has persisted since last year and the associated booming business of manufacturers, they came under a lot of pressure on the stock market in recent weeks in the wake of the weak overall market. This crisis could worsen because of the war. One reason is that the noble gas neon, which is necessary for chip production, could run out. Intel CEO Gelsinger expects the chip shortage to last into 2023.
