  • Electromobility
  • AI

Electromobility is a driver for silver, which is indispensable in batteries, especially in electric cars, due to its high conductivity. Manuka Resources is an exciting investment candidate here with various projects Down Under. China's automotive giant BYD is expanding its European business amid strong competition and market exhaustion domestically. However, the Company criticizes the EU's business practices, especially the negative impact of the unbundling strategy on Chinese companies. But BYD has good prospects. Two heavyweights in the investment scene have now joined Nvidia. Read here what this means for investors.

Interesting news from Nel. For the first time in many months, insider buying has been reported. Could this signal a turnaround? Following its quarterly figures and the news from industry peer Plug Power, the Nel share fell to a new multi-year low. Yesterday, it sent out a sign of life. Freyr Battery is also sending such a signal. The management of the battery hopeful from Norway addressed shareholders in a letter following alarming news and explained the situation. In contrast, Blackrock Silver is currently doing exceptionally well. The estimate for the gold and silver resources of the flagship project has more than doubled. Which share will achieve the turnaround?

After months of selling off, Greentech shares are making a comeback. By late fall, popular hydrogen and solar stocks had lost between 50% and 85% of their share prices from the boom times of 2020/21. Now, everything points to a rebound. Battery innovator Altech Advanced Materials is also coming up with good news. If everything goes according to plan, lithium-ion technology could soon see a dramatic increase in efficiency. We take a look at the bombed-out sector and where the opportunities lie for investors.

14 million e-cars in 2023 alone: BYD, Standard Lithium and Defense Metals profit

  • Mining
  • Tungsten
  • RareEarths
  • Electromobility
  • Lithium
  • Batteries

In the current year, one in every five vehicles sold is expected to have an electric drive, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA). This would amount to 14 million vehicles and correspond to a growth of around 35% compared to the more than 10 million sold in 2022. Opportunities for investors lie dormant along the entire value chain of electromobility. BYD aims to capture a significant portion of these sales figures and replace Tesla as the number one player in the electric vehicle sector. While Warren Buffett is selling again, analysts are advising to buy. Standard Lithium and Defense Metals are benefiting from the rising demand for batteries. Both companies have exciting projects with compelling economic calculations and alleviate concerns about China potentially using lithium and other resources as a "weapon." So, is it time to buy?

Power Nickel, Mercedes-Benz, BYD - No electromobility without nickel

  • Mining
  • Nickel
  • Batteries
  • renewableenergies
  • Electromobility

Nickel has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years and has become a key component of electromobility. While the demand for environmentally friendly vehicles is steadily increasing, nickel is becoming increasingly important as an indispensable component in batteries. Nickel contributes to achieving higher energy density in batteries, which translates into greater driving range. It also allows for a reduction in the amount of cobalt in the batteries, making electric vehicles even more environmentally friendly. Therefore, we look at a future nickel producer and analyze Mercedes-Benz and BYD in terms of opportunities and risks.

Lithium: The million-ton question! BASF, Standard Lithium, Edison Lithium, Varta - The Top List for 2024

  • Mining
  • Lithium
  • Batteries
  • BatteryMetals
  • Technology

Lithium-ion batteries are the most widely used battery type for electric vehicles and stationary energy storage. Estimates vary widely, but by 2025, we will need between 500,000 and 850,000 thousand tons of lithium, but in 2022 only 130,000 tons were produced. Against the backdrop of continued high global demand for e-vehicles, many high-performance batteries will be needed. Four gigafactories are currently being built in Europe, and the demand seems enormous. Each auto manufacturer has its own sourcing strategy, but there is currently a problem on the supply side because not every raw material is easy to obtain. Lithium is one of the most essential raw material components of a battery, along with nickel, cobalt, graphite and copper. Prices across the battery segment are under pressure due to the approaching economic downturn. What should investors look out for now?

Canada's First Phosphate Corp. has secured USD 170 million in potential financing from the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) to advance its ambitious plans to create a strategic reserve of purified phosphoric acid in the North American lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery market. FREYR Battery is also pushing into the US market, moving forward with the merger of its Delaware subsidiary. In Germany, road tolls will be introduced as a CO2 tax starting December 1, 2023. Mercedes-Benz is not fully reimbursing the tolls to its haulers. On the contrary, they have something truly monumental in mind...

This has not happened for a long time: Lower prices among the "Who's Who" of international technology stocks. Investors who had bet on the endless upswing of well-known growth stocks have taken a beating in the last 6 weeks. But not every fallen angel is excessively overvalued! In times of high volatility and rising interest rates, it pays to take a clear look at robust business models. And as we all know, these are to be found among the market leaders. We welcome the necessary price corrections because they present better opportunities for prudent investors. However, the stock market must now compete with a safe EU bond yield of just under 4%. The risk capital for equities is, therefore, no longer as abundant due to attractive fixed-income alternatives. We assess the opportunities for a few selected stocks.

Volkswagen, Altech Advanced Materials, Dürr - Using the setback as an opportunity

The past stock market week will certainly not go down in history as the most glorious. In addition to the widening conflict in the Gaza Strip, the current reporting season for the third quarter also brought rather negative surprises. For example, the DAX, Germany's leading index, lost more than 4% of its value in 5 trading days alone and slipped below the psychologically important 15,000-point mark. Nevertheless, analysts are optimistic about further developments.
