Range of up to 2,000 km - Hydrogen comeback? Volkswagen, dynaCERT, NEL

  • Hydrogen

  • Technology

Car manufacturers like Volkswagen apply for a whole series of patents every year. Many of them never become relevant. A few months ago, however, Volkswagen and a partner company filed a hydrogen patent that is quite something. There is talk of a fuel cell that, thanks to a ceramic membrane, is more efficient and enables ranges of up to 2,000 km for one tankful. Will the patent bring about the hydrogen revolution in private transport? We analyse the situation and look at three listed companies.

Altech Advanced Materials, Mercedes Benz, FREYR Battery - Stocks with longevity

  • Technology

  • Innovations

The battery industry is currently experiencing a significant upswing, driven by the EU's plan to phase out combustion engines in twelve years. Companies like Altech Advanced Materials are working hard to improve conventional batteries' charging capacity. Mercedes-Benz is feeling the impact of losing its third-largest shareholder, demonstrating that German thoroughness is at odds with innovation. The Kuwaiti sovereign wealth fund has turned its back on the Stuttgart-based automaker, while Scandinavian battery producer FREYR Battery is currently doing much better. They have teamed up with four global players to explore strategic partnerships.

Copper massively missing - what to do? Nordex, Orestone Mining, JinkoSolar - Greentech shares in the focus of investors

The energy transition in Europe can only work if critical metals such as copper, lithium or nickel remain available. For an almost complete electrification of road traffic from 2035 onwards, quantities of copper 3 to 7 times the current consumption are required. At present, however, hardly any new mines are coming on stream. It will therefore be exciting to see which copper source the EU will soon tap in order to supply industrial sites with the coveted metal. So the EU Council of Experts should urgently look for a few mining consultants and have the current decisions verified by the Fairy Tale Department. How do we manage it after all?

Switch now: Volkswagen, Meta Materials, Varta - Get out of banking and invest in climate change!

The banks are sputtering again. The somewhat more mature investors can well remember the horror year 2008 when the spectacular collapse of the small investment bank Bear Stearns occurred in the first half of the year. In May 2008, JPMorgan Chase had to take over the ailing institution in a night and fog operation. But that was just a preliminary flurry of activity. Lehman Brothers finally delivered the huge bankruptcy on September 15, 2008. That was the financial crisis's historical beginning, which only ended 7 years later. Now they are back, the troubled banks and the emergency takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS. What is next? That is the big question! After Corona and the Ukraine war, a recession combined with a banking crisis could be heading our way.

Meta Materials and Palantir for the future, what is Commerzbank doing?

  • metamaterials

The financial industry is shaking after the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and the problems of Credit Suisse. The rapid rise in interest rates caught banks cold that had bet on long government bonds with low interest rates. SVB had to report losses due to the falling prices of these bonds. As a result, more and more customers withdrew their funds, and the bank was already in trouble, even though the government bonds were supposedly safe. Now the FED is likely to reconsider its interest rate policy. Some market participants even expect the interest rate to be lowered. This plays into the cards of growth companies, which previously suffered from the hikes. We, therefore, highlight Meta Materials and Palantir, two growth companies with innovative technologies, and conclude with a look at Commerzbank.

The big battery question of 2023: BASF, Altech Advanced Materials, Volkswagen - Who is the fastest?

  • Electromobility
  • Innovations
  • Technology

In recent months it has become clear to investors that the global economy will have to contend with sharp price increases after the pandemic. The greatest inflationary pressure comes from scarce raw materials, especially for high-tech industrial goods. That is because the trend toward climate protection is forcing the industry to make its manufacturing processes more resource-efficient. As a result, this requires major investment in new energy plants and storage systems. Electromobility is still the smaller problem here because how will humanity secure green energy supplies around the globe? The energy hunger of the emerging nations already exceeds the new demand in the industrialized nations by a factor of six. Sophisticated ideas are needed!

If you were unfamiliar with the US bank SVB until last Thursday, at least you did not have much of an education gap. The bank was forced to sell bonds under pressure and made losses in the billions. The share price collapsed, and a capital increase failed. We look at the latest status around SVB and what lessons investors can learn from the situation.

Innovations for millions: Volkswagen, JinkoSolar, Meta Materials

If a company is ahead of the competition, its business runs all by itself. Large companies invest billions to set themselves apart from the market. But the structure of corporations too often puts the brakes on visionary projects. Fortunately, there are smaller companies that are wholly committed to new technology. We present three companies and explain which could soon become the focus of the big players.
