Bitcoin soon at USD 100,000? The music is also playing at Rheinmetall, Renk, Manuka Resources and BYD!
The stock market is not a one-way street. While Bitcoin reaches new highs daily, many stocks are still on the sidelines. Only 21% of all listed shares reached a new high in 2024, yet the Nasdaq 100 and the DAX 40 index are at their all-time highs. Only a few stocks are gaining favour with investors; others are being left behind. The current focus is on high-tech stocks that enable ever-greater computing power, such as in mining or artificial intelligence. In addition to gigantic amounts of data, mining requires trillions of computing operations to be carried out in a very short time. There are rewards in the form of new bitcoins for confirming transactions on the blockchain, but they will be halved by the next "halving" event in April. Armament values, on the other hand, seem to be heating up. So how much time is left to reap further leaps in returns?

C3.ai, Altech Advanced Materials, BYD - Ready for the rebound
The major stock market barometers, the DAX and Dow Jones, continue to surge and rush to new highs almost daily. Currently, one of the hottest sectors is the semiconductor industry, which is reporting record figures due to the emergence of artificial intelligence. In contrast, another future topic, electromobility, is currently in correction mode. Market leaders such as Tesla and BYD have seen their stock market value fall dramatically. Currently, it appears that these stocks have found a bottom from which the next upward movement could begin.

Defense Metals, Coinbase, Volkswagen: Critical metals for pioneering technologies
The demand for critical metals is increasing rapidly worldwide. From growing digitalization to the increased use of cryptocurrencies and AI, from advances in medical technology to electromobility and defense technology - all these areas rely on these critical raw materials. Defense Metals Corporation is an experienced explorer in British Columbia whose Wicheeda project is designed to provide these critical metals. Forward-thinking companies like the crypto exchange Coinbase serve many users who use rare earth metals to power their hard drives for crypto mining. Volkswagen also requires this raw material because car consumers in China have very different needs when it comes to vehicle software than those in the European market. A new CEO for the subsidiary and software company CARIAD knows exactly what needs to be done...

E-mobility versus combustion engines: Tesla and BYD stumble, Mercedes-Benz and Globex Mining in Vogue!
The Tesla plant in Brandenburg is discharging polluted wastewater into the canals. Permissible limits for phosphorus and nitrogen are exceeded by up to six times. Elon Musk has not yet reacted to the accusations, as he is busy planning the expansion of his production facility. If the authorities were to take action here, the plant could also be subject to a production stop until the harmful sources are eliminated. Once again, environmental protection and the climate debate clash with the self-interest of foreign producers seemingly not on the radar of existing EU regulations. The water debate is nothing new. Since the plant in Grünheide went into operation, local communities have had to contend with a drop in the groundwater level because the plant draws an impermissible amount of water. For those finding Tesla unsympathetic due to these issues, look for other opportunities in the automotive sector!

BYD, Edison Lithium, Nikola - Electromobility continues to advance
The German government's decision to stop the environmental bonus has caused a drastic decline in new registrations of electric cars in Germany. After almost 55,000 battery-powered vehicles in December, the number dropped to 22,500 in the first month of the year. According to ADAC, citing data from the Federal Motor Transport Authority, the percentage share of electric vehicles in total new registrations plummeted from 22.6% to 10.5%. By contrast, the situation outside Germany looks considerably more positive. Around 1,120,000 new registrations were registered in the US in 2023, representing a growth of 54%. China remains by far the largest market, with 6.66 million electric vehicles sold, and the growth curve continues to rise at 24%.

Plug Power, First Hydrogen, Daimler Truck - Hydrogen: the game changer in transportation
The rapid development of electromobility has undoubtedly brought many advantages. However, there are some questions regarding its suitability for use in commercial transportation. The issues concerning the weight of the batteries, the long recharging time, and the limited range cannot be ignored. In view of these facts, it is questionable whether electric vehicles can completely replace diesel fuel in commercial transportation. There is a need for further technological advances, such as hydrogen propulsion. Although hydrogen has not yet received the same level of attention as electric vehicles, its potential suggests that it can solve the current problems.

Top news: BYD, Bayer and Globex Mining
Bayer shocked investors yesterday with the announcement of its dividend cut, which shouldn't have been much of a surprise. The Company is burdened with high debt, endless legal fines, and an empty pharmaceutical pipeline. In an initial reaction, analysts have lowered the share price target. BYD, on the other hand, is doing well operationally. Only the share price is not picking up. Will a share buyback turn the share price around? For those who want to profit from the commodity boom with reduced risk, then Globex Mining's stock is attractive. The news flow is strong, and those who act quickly can still register and follow the live presentation of the mining incubator at the 10th International Investment Forum, IIF, today.

ThyssenKrupp Nucera, dynaCERT, Plug Power - Hydrogen Stocks: Buy or Wait?
In light of global efforts to reduce CO2 emissions, hydrogen is coming into focus as a promising alternative in the transportation sector. The quick refueling times and greater ranges of hydrogen are particularly enticing, potentially solving the challenges of electromobility. Fleet operators must also become active, especially in response to the savings demanded by the government. Despite the clear potential for more sustainable mobility, hydrogen companies currently find themselves in a challenging situation on the stock markets, plagued by market uncertainties and the challenges of a nascent technology. Today, we look at three companies whose business is based on hydrogen.

Defense Metals, BYD, Rheinmetall - No high-tech technology without this resource
In today's technology-driven world, rare earths have become indispensable building blocks for modern high-tech applications. From high-performance electric vehicles, which promise environmentally conscious mobility, to sophisticated equipment in the defense industry, whose importance increases in times of geopolitical tensions - rare earths are everywhere. These elements, often invisible yet crucial, enable the functionality and efficiency of devices and systems used in our daily lives, such as smartphones. Rare earths have become a silent backbone of technological innovation and security policy, whose availability and control can play a decisive role in economic success and strategic superiority.

Innovation and expansion in energy supply: Mercedes-Benz, Altech Advanced Materials and Alibaba in focus
Energy supply is one of the top issues for investors. A reliable energy supply promotes stable business conditions and supports economic growth. While the opposite is true in Germany, companies like Mercedes-Benz are focusing on lucrative projects abroad. A joint venture with China to expand charging stations is on the Stuttgart-based company's agenda. The German company Altech Advanced Materials is committed to a secure and affordable energy supply. Together with Fraunhofer IKTS, they are developing a stationary ceramic solid-state battery based on salt, especially for critical infrastructure facilities such as hospitals. This enables a smooth, vital power supply for intensive care units, even in emergencies. While Mercedes-Benz is currently eyeing China, the retail giant Alibaba is publishing its quarterly figures this week, serving as an indicator of the country's economic development. The details are summarized below.
