Nel ASA, dynaCERT, Daimler Truck - Into the future with hydrogen
Hydrogen is a promising energy carrier for the future that can be produced from renewable sources such as green electricity. Hydrogen can be used in various sectors such as industry, heating, or transportation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase energy security. Transport, in particular, emits a lot of emissions, making it a crucial focal point for action. The German federal government has already adopted a national hydrogen strategy to promote the development and use of hydrogen. There are similar efforts in the US and Europe. We look at three companies harnessing the power of hydrogen.

Climate change or just a heat wave? - BioNTech, Cardiol Therapeutics, and Redcare Pharmacy deliver!
Whether this consistently warm summer already documents a pronounced climate change is questionable. The older ones among us remember that there were already very hot summers before and that even in the last 30 years, there was rarely snow at Christmas. However, human life is simply too short for significant conclusions. Therefore, long-term weather records have to be consulted. There will probably be a slight increase in average temperatures, but we will get little information about when the next ice age will hit us. For many politicians, the current weather trends fit perfectly into the chain of arguments in favor of radical legislative proposals. Perhaps, however, the caprices of the weather are only the offshoots of the approaching El Nino. The stock market also follows changing trends; after the flood, an ebb could now be imminent. Selection remains key!

Full speed ahead - Continental, Globex Mining, Rheinmetall
Jackson Hole casts its shadow ahead. On Thursday, leading central bankers, including ECB Chief Christine Lagarde, will meet again to discuss the further interest rate strategy, taking into account the current inflation figures and the still looming recession. Positive signals concerning an easing of monetary policy could thus help the markets back into rally mode.

BYD, First Phosphate, JinkoSolar - Benefiting from the growing energy storage market
The electrification of the world is an important step in reducing dependence on fossil fuels and achieving climate goals. Energy storage systems and batteries are essential to balance the fluctuating generation from renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. They can store excess electricity and release it when needed. One promising technology for electricity storage and rechargeable batteries is lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries, which are safer and cheaper than traditional lithium-ion batteries and have a longer service life. Moreover, the first automakers are exploring the usability of LFP batteries. The market for energy storage is growing rapidly. We take a look at three companies that stand to benefit from developments in the energy storage market.

China's shadow banks send first shock waves: Deutsche Bank, Allianz, Viva Gold
To many market observers, China was considered the true powerhouse of financial markets. Even when US growth was reaching its limits due to crises, the Chinese continued scoring points with growth rates well above the 5% mark. But the situation has changed. China is increasingly becoming a problem case. The Chinese real estate market is in a predicament. The situation surrounding project developer Country Garden could, much like in the case with Evergrande before, make waves internationally and put German financial institutions in a difficult situation.

Meyer Burger, Saturn Oil + Gas, CureVac - Incisive events
The past week in the stock market, due to the earnings season for the year's first half, brought surprises on both sides. Some companies were able to shine despite uncertainties on the economic and geopolitical side and face a golden future due to a significant undervaluation. Speaking of the future: Due to weaker market conditions, one company after another is leaving the old contingent to take advantage of better conditions overseas.

The correction wave is rolling: Adyen, Almonty Industries, Nel ASA - is a 100% turnaround quickly possible?
Looking back, 2023 has been an exceptionally good stock market year. However, there has been no noticeable momentum for a few weeks now; instead, major players are trying to maintain the high level. However, the profit warnings are piling up, which we should have received for months, given the economic weakness. But the executives are taking time to lower their forecasts, hoping things improve. The fact that stocks still trended upward for months despite huge interest rate increases is due to the reawakened NASDAQ bull market with the trending topics of Artificial Intelligence and Greentech. But just hoping for falling interest rates is not enough. Now sentiment has also turned, and prices are falling. Time for us to take a look at some of the "Fallen Angels". Who will manage the turnaround?

Globex Mining, Deutsche Lufthansa, Rheinmetall: Share prices soar on the back of impressive deals
Globex Mining achieves several deal highlights: The exploration company receives CAD 2 million in cash from Agnico Eagle for a land purchase, with further opportunity for a growing asset. Over 23 months, an additional CAD 6 million is expected to flow to Globex Mining. Then follows an option agreement with Tomagold Corporation on a Canadian gold property at Gwillin Lake near Quebec. Total payments of six figures are due over the next four years. In addition, shares in Tomagold will be transferred to Globex Mining. While German Foreign Minister Baerbock was more conspicuous for flight mishaps, the Lufthansa Group achieved an adjusted EBIT of around EUR 1.1 billion in Q2/23. The subsidiaries SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings and Lufthansa Technik also posted record results. Furthermore, Rheinmetall is also taking to the skies - now supplying drones to Ukraine.

Plug Power, JinkoSolar, Altech Advanced Materials: Only one share is strong
The stock market is currently on shaky ground. In such times, it is worth considering stocks that show relative strength. Which renewable energy company falls into this category? Hydrogen specialist Plug Power disappointed again with its latest quarterly figures. And now analysts are also losing patience. In contrast, JinkoSolar has increased its half-year profit by over 300%. However, the shares of the Chinese solar group are trading lower than they have in a long time. The shares of Altech Advanced Materials - also listed on XETRA since July - are among the German stock market stars of 2023 with a plus of 250%. But is there more in store? After all, the Company aims to revolutionize the battery market and even outshine the new Tesla battery.

Return on investment thanks to recycling: NEL, RegenX Tech, BASF
Many people view recycling with skepticism and are reminded of regulations for waste separation, even though a significant portion of carefully sorted recyclables ultimately end up in incineration plants. On a large scale, however, recycling is a beacon of hope. For Germany, in particular, a functioning circular economy could bring many advantages - after all, energy requirements and dependence on foreign countries are high. Recycling is also about the future of the industry.
