The hour of the problem solvers: BASF, BYD, dynaCERT

  • Hydrogen
  • greenhydrogen
  • Electromobility
  • chemicals

The transformation of industry is not proceeding smoothly. The best example is the recent profit warning from the chemical group BASF. Earlier, Lanxess and the Swiss company Clariant also revised their forecasts. The reason: The economic recovery in the second half of the year is likely to be slower than previously assumed. When the global economy falters, chemical companies are among the first to feel the effects - they produce many important basic materials and are linked to many other industries. Although BASF already sees demand for basic chemicals at a low level that is not expected to decline further, there are no signs of any recovery momentum either.

Altech Advanced Materials, Mercedes-Benz, BYD - Electricity storage for the future

  • Innovations
  • Technology
  • Electromobility

The automotive industry is facing a revolution as it focuses more and more on electric vehicles. However, better batteries are needed to meet market demands for range and charging time. Better storage options are important not only for electric vehicles but also for renewables. When green power is abundant, it must be stored to be ready at night. The development of more powerful batteries offers potential for investments with attractive returns. With that in mind, we take a look at a company that offers such solutions and analyze two automakers in more detail.

Battery revolution in Germany: BYD, BASF, Altech Advanced Materials

  • Batteries
  • renewableenergies
  • Electromobility

Negative electricity prices? Last weekend, it happened again. In the meantime, 1 megawatt-hour of electricity costs minus EUR 500. It is a pity that there are no large-scale energy storage systems - YET. Altech Advanced Materials is working together with Fraunhofer IKTS on the next-generation battery, and it is "Made in Germany." The next milestone is due this year, and the FAZ sees room for improvement in the share price. Analysts see no room for improvement in BASF shares and recommend "sell". However, the DAX-listed company has just commissioned a battery factory, and demand is said to be high. BYD is also benefiting from high demand. Will the Chinese company soon be producing their e-cars in Germany?

Led by the innovation driver Tesla, which delivered better-than-expected quarterly delivery figures, Chinese competitors also boasted record sales. Thus, Elon Musk's plan to boost volumes through discounts worked. The increasing sales raise the demand for critical metals for the production of electric vehicles, benefiting the producers of these scarce resources in the long run.

100% with Clean Energy! BYD, Regenx Technologies, BASF, Siemens Energy - Recycling is becoming a challenge!

  • Metals
  • recycling
  • Electromobility

As Western governments finally take climate protection seriously, the media has focused on the areas of energy, mobility, and health. It is clear to all participants that the changes in the world's climate will lead to undesirable developments. Glaciers are melting, the Earth's temperature is rising, and our oceans are already too warm for many species. Huge investments are being made in renewable power generation and modern mobility solutions. The high growth requires access to metals. Recycling also plays a major role because it conserves valuable resources and brings raw materials back into the cycle. Some companies are making a name for themselves, and shareholders can benefit from this.

First Phosphate, Mercedes-Benz, BYD - 1,500 km range through battery revolution

  • Mining
  • phosphate
  • Electromobility

Until now, solid-state batteries were considered too expensive for electric mobility and could be recharged much less often than today's lithium-ion batteries. Now, thanks to a new technology, car manufacturer Toyota has developed a battery that can be recharged within 10 minutes and has a range of up to 1,500 km. This instantly puts Toyota's electric vehicles in the spotlight. Until now, the Company has been a niche player in the electric car market and has been more successful with hybrid vehicles. Today we look at First Phosphate, which aims to supply phosphate for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, and we finish by looking at two car manufacturers.
