Born in Munich, he first studied economics and graduated in business administration at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in 1995. As he was involved with the stock market at a very early stage, he now has more than 30 years of experience in the capital markets. In the historic dot.com year 2000, he trained as a CEFA analyst in Frankfurt and has since then accompanied over 20 IPOs in Germany.

Until 2018, he held various positions at banks as an asset manager, capital market and macro expert as well as fundamental equity analyst. He is passionate about the energy, commodity and technology markets as well as the tactical and strategic asset allocation of liquid investment products. As an expert speaker at investment committee meetings of funds as well as at customer events, he can still describe the course of the 1987 crash, one of the major buying opportunities of the last 33 years on the stock market.

Today, he knows that the profit in shares is not necessarily the result of buying cheaply, but above all of avoiding mistakes and recognizing in good time when markets are ready to let air out. After all, in addition to basic fundamental analysis, investing in stocks is above all a phenomenon of global liquidity and this must be monitored regularly.

Silver Viper, Plug Power, FuelCell Energy - Silver and Hydrogen - Get in or get out?

  • Silver

The battle has broken out on the stock exchange. One side thinks the level has been way too expensive for a few months. The other side talks about momentum and unprecedented liquidity that will not immediately dwindle even with minor interest rate adjustments. Still, there was a tech sellout last week that disappeared as quickly as it appeared. Back and forth and back and forth - no one knows where stocks will end up in the coming weeks. One thing is sure though, the trading volume is gigantic and exceeds the highs of the last bull markets many times over. We take a look at silver and hydrogen.

Compass Pathways, Canopy Growth, PsyBio Therapeutics - Cannabis or psilocybin?

  • Biotechnology

Cannabis stocks have been a bit forgotten after an early-year rally caused a 500% increase in some cases. Most stocks have already corrected back up 50% from the top and have been running more sideways recently. Speculation in psychoactive substances has recently shifted to a new industry, the mushroom applications around psilocybin. These substances are said to treat particular forms of depression, a fact that is becoming more explosive against the backdrop of increasing loneliness due to Covid lockdowns. Let's take a look at some prominent representatives.

B2Gold, Yamana Gold, Barrick Gold, Goldseek Resources - The gold turnaround!

  • Gold

In the last few days, we have been talking about it. Gold is coming back! It turned at USD 1,680 yesterday and immediately ran up to USD 1,720. A good revival move, reminding us that especially a strong Bitcoin movement always brings some momentum into the precious metals. Because both investments have one aspect in common - they shy away from paper money, which will be enriched by USD 1.9 trillion again by the latest announcement of the US Senate...

Square, Marble Financial, Commerzbank - Now the banking and finance stocks are going

  • Investments

When bull market movements persist and tech and hype topics have all run back and forth, one likes to remember an often neglected stock market segment: banking and financial stocks. These stocks are mostly called late cyclicals because, in a typical upswing scenario, the banks' original growth financing takes place first under high risks. Only when the economy does well again does the transaction volume increase on both the credit and asset sides. Of course, companies that participate in payment transactions always exist. Let's see which financial stocks are currently convincing.

Barrick Gold, Varta, Osino Resources - Into the Fallen Angels!

  • Gold

For more than 6 months now, the gold correction continues. The high of USD 2,075 in August 2020 went down in waves until a cyclical low of USD 1,687 was reached last week. The trigger was the inflation warnings celebrated by Fed Chairman Powell, which sent the US bond market into the basement. The 30-year US bond (long T-bond) has now lost a full 10 points in price since October 2020, and the yield currently stands at 2.31%. Inflation bells ring at yields above 2.50% - so the distance to the signal line is no longer too great. If the ghost of inflation returns, the precious metals are likely to jump.

The best hydrogen stocks! Plug Power, Ballard Power, Nel ASA, dynaCERT

  • Hydrogen

Things are getting exciting in the hydrogen sector. For the past 3 weeks, the question has no longer been where the upward trend will take us; instead, we are primarily interested in how robust a business model is to survive a major stock market correction. Markdowns of a good 30-40% have been made across the industry so far - given price increases of up to 2000%; it is a piece of cake when you calculate from the bottom up. However, some investors have entered the market at the highest prices - unfortunately, that's how mean stock market life is - the last one to bite is the dog. Today, we look at the business models of well-known hydrogen protagonists and go in search of the lost fuel for higher quotations.

SKRR Exploration, First Majestic, Lufthansa - These values take off!

  • Gold

Once again, a sell-off day for the precious metals! Often observed these days, in the morning, a stabilization of spot prices, US trade hardly sets in: Out with it! All supposed price gains are used on the other side of the Atlantic to sell short again. Yesterday, we started at USD 1,740 and ended up at the low of USD 1,702 - a minus of 2.2%. The strategy makes perfect sense in light of rising yields: Higher interest rates damage gold holdings - but they also indicate burgeoning inflation. And if this ghost continues to sail the halls, there will ultimately be a run on gold and silver. Only, as always, it's not the time yet, but it will not be long either!

Kleos Space, Raytheon, Boeing - Only flying is more beautiful!

  • Space

Whether on land, in the air or on the water - people's movement data is now collected and analyzed in various ways. A wide variety of companies are now scrambling for the Big Data pie, which is continually being generated through the use of cell phones, cars and other devices linked to the Internet. Worldwide, 0.5 zettabytes of data are produced every day. In the meantime, the Internet has become ubiquitous and we now fear that we will no longer be able to cope with the amount of information. An appropriate metaphor for this is the flood of data we are exposed to every day at our desks and on the road. But one thing is certain: the big machines can handle our data brilliantly and draw their conclusions.

The COVID pandemic has permanent surprises in store, which strongly influence our daily life. The province of Tyrol was sealed off entirely 2 weeks ago. The Czech Republic is being helped out with vaccine doses because the incidence figures are going through the roof. In Germany, hairdressers and DIY stores have been allowed to open again. Gradually, everyday life is returning to normal, but it will probably take some time before we regain the quality of life of the pre-Corona years. Let's take a closer look at various business models in the healthcare industry to get a feel for what's next.

JinkoSolar, NIO, Almonty - Rare metals, these are the buying opportunities!

The Purchasing Managers' Index (EMI) for the manufacturing sector in China measures the industrial sector's current situation. In the financial markets, this survey of purchasing managers and company heads is considered one of the most influential economic indicators because it shows the country's economic performance from several angles at an early stage. Yesterday, Sunday, this index came with a value of 50.6 - expected was 51.1, the last value was 51.3. If you think in categories of an imminent recovery to Corona, you will be slightly disappointed with this figure. After all, a value below 50 indicates recessionary tendencies - and China is not far from this mark.
