Nuclear off, secure energy now! Altech Advanced Materials, Varta and BYD - Up 700 % and no end in sight?

  • Technology
  • Electromobility
  • Batteries

The nuclear reactors are now off! As though there was enough energy far and wide, the Berlin government ensemble decided to phase out nuclear energy. The reaction of the electricity suppliers followed immediately. On Monday, April 17, E.ON raised its electricity prices by 43%. Meanwhile, the coalition government cannot be deterred from suggesting to citizens that electricity prices will decrease in the long term. It will now be difficult for private households to behave in a climate-friendly way and still be able to consume. There are plenty of solutions for battery storage, but what is affordable and reliable? We take a look at an industry with a future.

The world of flight and travel is in a state of upheaval as artificial intelligence enters the decision-making world of humans. Quite unconsciously, various recommendations are creeping into the email boxes of citizens based on the usage behavior derived from Big Data collected over the past months or even years. The well-known IT giants collect data from our consumption and payment habits, analyze websites visited and build targeted advertising in the background, which wanders across our screens quasi "at random" in all situations in life. Although no one is really surprised here any more, 30% of our purchasing behaviour now comes from the Big Data machinery. Some stocks are making a name for themselves here.

Affordable e-cars that offer all the comforts and safety - even though many car industry commercials already sound like this, the reality is quite different. E-cars are still expensive, and the charging process forces travellers to take a mandatory break that is more or less relaxing, depending on their schedule. But technology is advancing. Batteries will soon be able to do much more than they do today. We introduce three companies that want to drive innovation.

AI trend only at the beginning - Palantir, Star Navigation Systems, C3.AI

The topic of artificial intelligence finally reached the masses with the meteoric rise of the chatbot ChatGPT and is unlikely to be stopped despite short-term bans, as happened in Italy. The topic is also already on everyone's lips on the capital market. The companies in the sector are exposed to a high degree of fluctuation, which is nothing unusual at the beginning of a long-term trend.

Triple AAA is in demand in the crisis - Amazon, Aspermont and Alibaba keep their promises!

The DAX rises and rises and rises. At 15,742 points, a new high for the year was reached again yesterday, and the all-time high at around 16,290 points now also appears within reach. The strong rise in interest rates of recent months has slowed down somewhat, as inflation rates are no longer in double digits. However, it is questionable whether the next bull market on the NASDAQ is imminent since the FED recently indicated that it was not yet thinking about interest rate cuts. The so-called "dot plots" of the central bank members, however, speak a different language. We look at some classic growth stocks that are now returning to focus.

The first quarter of the 2023 stock market year is already history again. Despite the uncertainties related to global geopolitical tensions and continuing high inflation, the most important indices were stable in the first three months. While the DAX was able to shine with a plus of around 14% since the beginning of the year, there is still a lot of catching up to do among the growth stocks.

Car manufacturers like Volkswagen apply for a whole series of patents every year. Many of them never become relevant. A few months ago, however, Volkswagen and a partner company filed a hydrogen patent that is quite something. There is talk of a fuel cell that, thanks to a ceramic membrane, is more efficient and enables ranges of up to 2,000 km for one tankful. Will the patent bring about the hydrogen revolution in private transport? We analyse the situation and look at three listed companies.

Altech Advanced Materials, Mercedes Benz, FREYR Battery - Stocks with longevity

  • Technology

The battery industry is currently experiencing a significant upswing, driven by the EU's plan to phase out combustion engines in twelve years. Companies like Altech Advanced Materials are working hard to improve conventional batteries' charging capacity. Mercedes-Benz is feeling the impact of losing its third-largest shareholder, demonstrating that German thoroughness is at odds with innovation. The Kuwaiti sovereign wealth fund has turned its back on the Stuttgart-based automaker, while Scandinavian battery producer FREYR Battery is currently doing much better. They have teamed up with four global players to explore strategic partnerships.

Copper massively missing - what to do? Nordex, Orestone Mining, JinkoSolar - Greentech shares in the focus of investors

The energy transition in Europe can only work if critical metals such as copper, lithium or nickel remain available. For an almost complete electrification of road traffic from 2035 onwards, quantities of copper 3 to 7 times the current consumption are required. At present, however, hardly any new mines are coming on stream. It will therefore be exciting to see which copper source the EU will soon tap in order to supply industrial sites with the coveted metal. So the EU Council of Experts should urgently look for a few mining consultants and have the current decisions verified by the Fairy Tale Department. How do we manage it after all?

Switch now: Volkswagen, Meta Materials, Varta - Get out of banking and invest in climate change!

The banks are sputtering again. The somewhat more mature investors can well remember the horror year 2008 when the spectacular collapse of the small investment bank Bear Stearns occurred in the first half of the year. In May 2008, JPMorgan Chase had to take over the ailing institution in a night and fog operation. But that was just a preliminary flurry of activity. Lehman Brothers finally delivered the huge bankruptcy on September 15, 2008. That was the financial crisis's historical beginning, which only ended 7 years later. Now they are back, the troubled banks and the emergency takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS. What is next? That is the big question! After Corona and the Ukraine war, a recession combined with a banking crisis could be heading our way.
