The electricity supply in Germany is a hot topic. Now even the German Trade Union Federation is calling for a guaranteed maximum price for industrial electricity. Critics fear that this would provide too little incentive for industrial companies to adapt to the new conditions - if electricity is cheap, there is no need to save, so the argument goes. We present three stocks related to the energy transition and shed light on their medium-term prospects.

Vonovia has secured a strong US partner to further secure its real estate business in Germany. Proceeds from the investment will support Vonovia's capital allocation plans while giving Apollo's insurance and institutional clients access to a portfolio of long-term, high-quality assets. High quality is also the acreage Desert Gold Ventures is exploring in Mali, Africa. New gold exploration areas have been defined that show promise. Gold will continue to gain importance in the near future, as it is a valuable component of numerous solutions in the energy transition. According to Daimler Truck CEO Daum, progress is still far too slow. But the Q1/23 result exceeds all expectations.

Vonovia, Barrick Gold, Blackrock Silver: Gold and silver shares in demand again

  • Mining

  • RealEstate

Gold and silver continue to develop strongly. The prices for the precious metals are shooting upward this week. Price targets for gold ranging from USD 2,500 to USD 3,000 are creating a good mood. And new all-time highs are also expected for silver. Meanwhile, shares in the sector can also profit from this. Barrick Gold looks very interesting from a chart perspective, and analysts will probably have to adjust the assumed gold price upward in their earnings forecasts. The second sector giant Newmont, on the other hand, has opened the takeover carousel. Therefore, it should only be a matter of time before the explorers also jump on board. Blackrock Silver, for example, has exciting silver and lithium projects. And all of them are in the US. Experts also see initial entry opportunities in "concrete gold". After the sell-off, analysts recommend investing in Vonovia real estate shares.

Panic at Vonovia and Plug Power - Barrick Gold and Tocvan Ventures shine

  • RealEstate

Concrete gold? Real estate stocks are currently in an absolute panic. The share of Germany's industry leader Vonovia recovered somewhat yesterday, but an end to the downward slide is not in sight. Analysts are also skeptical. The range of price targets is broad, and there is already speculation about an (emergency) capital increase. So buy or sell? The Plug Power share could also use some buying. From a chart perspective, the situation is critical. Fuel cells for smaller forklifts are now being offered. The situation is different at Barrick Gold. The group's share is about to break out to the upside. Price targets for gold of USD 3,000 provide for a good mood. Tocvan Ventures should also benefit from this. The gold and silver explorer published news about its project in Mexico yesterday, and the stock is waking from its slumber - there appears to be further air to the upside.

We all know efficient markets from the textbook. There, buyers and sellers always come together - and in the end, there is no apple left over. In reality, markets are highly complex and are sometimes dependent on external factors that can change everything overnight. Today we look at BASF's business in China, the real estate market and the emerging market for uranium.

Gold to USD 3,000? Barrick Gold and Desert Gold profit. What is going on at Vonovia?

  • Inflation

Will the price of gold rise to USD 3,000 per ounce before the end of the year? That is what investment professional Leigh Goehring thinks is possible. He is a managing director at Goehring & Rozencwajg, manages a commodity fund, among other things, and expects a "decade of inflation." If the forecast comes true, gold stocks will at least be an attractive portfolio addition. In addition to industry heavyweights like Barrick Gold, explorers can be worthwhile as leverage to the gold price. One such explorer is Desert Gold. The share of the Canadian company reacted yesterday with a price jump of over 10% to a project update. In contrast, the outlook for "concrete gold" remains challenging. Vonovia, for example, was once again downgraded by analysts despite the significant share price losses of recent months. At the same time, there are also positive comments.

Alpina Holdings, Vonovia, Credit Suisse - Real estate market booms in Asia, Europe staggers along

The Silicon Valley Bank knockout is also making its rounds on this side of the Atlantic. Credit Suisse shares are currently reeling, sliding 30% lower, after its main shareholder ruled out further support. This helped drag down all European banks. That is not all. The real estate industry across Europe is also trembling as the EU Parliament has passed a resolution for the compulsory renovation of all houses. By 2050, all buildings in Europe are to be climate-neutral. As early as 2028, only buildings that are considered "emission-free" are to be allowed to be built. Existing buildings will have to be refurbished if they are deemed to be in poor condition. That means immense renovation costs for the Vonovia real estate group, which is suspected of corruption. The Singapore-based company Alpina Holdings is in a better position here. The Company builds and manages both public and private properties in the Lion City. Read here what this means for investors.

Alibaba, Alpina Holdings, NIO - Buy Asian stocks now?

The ECB has so far failed to keep pace with the US in terms of interest rate hikes. The reward for this was inflation of 8.7% in Germany in January. The value is expected to remain at this level in February. The Federal Statistical Office recently made changes to the shopping basket and used 2020 instead of 2015 as the base year for the calculation. The high energy prices, especially in Germany, are causing great uncertainty in industry. BASF has already decided to invest several billion euros in China. There have been positive impulses for the economy from China since the easing of the Corona measures. An economic upswing could be imminent here. Reason enough to take a closer look at three companies from Asia.

Nel ASA, TUI and Alpina Holdings: Shares with up to 100% price potential?

  • Investments
  • RealEstate

The reporting season is in full swing. The 2022 figures are an opportunity for investors to review their investment decisions and, if necessary, reposition themselves for 2023. For one of our three companies, analysts see up to 100% upside potential but also a "sell". The figures from Nel ASA were awaited with great excitement. Since last year, hydrogen companies have been good for a surprise every time they open their books - unfortunately, more of a negative one lately. Nel has also seen its fair share of good and bad news, and the first analysts have spoken out. At TUI, analyst comments are rather negative. Analyst opinion: Better than feared, but not good enough. In contrast, Alpina Holdings offers a favorable valuation and a dividend yield of 3%. Yet 2022 was relatively quiet for the real estate company from Singapore. In the future, margins and earnings should rise again.
