The alternative to concrete gold: Vonovia, Hong Lai Huat, HeidelbergCement

  • RealEstate
  • Gold

Concrete gold and tangible assets - these two terms have probably been used the most in the past ten years or more. The run on real estate began as early as after the great financial crisis. In retrospect, it is almost amusing that the first warnings of a bursting real estate bubble were sounded as early as the mid-10s. But the trend continued, on and on. Most recently, residential real estate prices have risen by around 12% in a single quarter. Once again, warnings of an end to the upswing are being voiced, such as by Deutsche Bank. But how strongly can real estate correct? Or will the real estate boom continue? Today, we present three shares as an alternative to apartments and highlight the particular advantages of real estate shares.

Deutsche Bank, Hong Lai Huat, Commerzbank - Strong comeback

  • RealEstate
  • Financial

Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent sanctions, banks, in particular, lost disproportionately in stock market value. Concerns about possible loan defaults in neighboring Eastern European countries caused the major European banks and domestic financial institutions such as Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank to plummet in the short term. In recent days, however, it is precisely these stocks that showed relative strength, driven above all by interest rate fantasies triggered by the US Federal Reserve.

The China stock rally - Alibaba, Hong Lai Huat, Tencent, Baidu: Buy or Sell?

  • RealEstate
  • Technology

What a rebound! For months, SEC threats pounded the Chinese ADRs on the NASDAQ. Lack of transparency, arbitrary government intervention and flawed accounting could negatively impact US investment goals. With her investment firm ARK, Cathie Wood was an early responder, blowing the whistle on Chinese tech stocks as early as mid-2021, but even her ARK Innovation ETF is down over 50% from the high. However, the Alibaba share took the cake, plummeting a full 75% from its high by mid-March 2022. In the aftermath of the sell-off, the Hang Seng Index made its most significant positive daily jump in 15 years, gaining 11% at its peak. Is this the turnaround now? We take a closer look.

Alibaba, Hong Lai Huat, BYD - Asia as a safe haven for investments?

  • RealEstate
  • Electromobility

The war in Ukraine is causing falling stock indices on both sides. The sanctions against Russia will be extensive; even Nord Stream 2 has been stopped for the time being, although Olaf Scholz did not want to name the pipeline for a long time when it came to possible sanctions. Many countries are calling for Russia to be excluded from the SWIFT system. However, this would mean that many countries would be harming themselves, as energy imports from Russia would no longer be affordable. The war will have losers on both sides. Investors who still want to make their money work for them can take a closer look at companies from the Asian region. China is neutral in the showdown. Which stocks offer opportunities?

Deutsche Bank, Hong Lai Huat, Heidelberger Druck - Things are stabilizing!

  • RealEstate

After a sharp correction, the stabilization of the stock markets - due to concerns about faster than expected interest rate increases - has been successful. The DAX was able, at least temporarily, to fend off a fall below the psychologically important 15,000 point mark. The German benchmark index is driven by banks and financial stocks, which have outperformed for weeks. There are also outliers from the second row, which could surprise positively due to the presented figures.

Steinhoff, Hong Lai Huat, JinkoSolar - Is the lid flying off?

  • RealEstate

Will international furniture group Steinhoff get back on its feet after the accounting scandal of 2017? The settlement with creditors has been confirmed, and now it is all about reducing the horrendous mountain of debt. The situation in the German real estate market is quite different. Here, the German Federal Bank is already warning of overheating following the sharp rise in prices in recent years. There is more potential on other continents of the world, especially in Southeast Asia.
