Lithium: The million-ton question! BASF, Standard Lithium, Edison Lithium, Varta - The Top List for 2024
Lithium-ion batteries are the most widely used battery type for electric vehicles and stationary energy storage. Estimates vary widely, but by 2025, we will need between 500,000 and 850,000 thousand tons of lithium, but in 2022 only 130,000 tons were produced. Against the backdrop of continued high global demand for e-vehicles, many high-performance batteries will be needed. Four gigafactories are currently being built in Europe, and the demand seems enormous. Each auto manufacturer has its own sourcing strategy, but there is currently a problem on the supply side because not every raw material is easy to obtain. Lithium is one of the most essential raw material components of a battery, along with nickel, cobalt, graphite and copper. Prices across the battery segment are under pressure due to the approaching economic downturn. What should investors look out for now?

E-car flash in the pan or summit rush? The key players: Varta, Rock Tech Lithium, Almonty Industries
After a challenging climb, we often reap the rewards of our efforts - this is just as true on the stock market as it is after a day in the Alps. While clear skies, Alpine delicacies, and traditional hut festivities might be limited to holidaymakers, a lucrative reward beckons permanently on the stock exchange after thorough research. We look at how investors can navigate the recent price fireworks in e-car shares.

Gold rush mood at Manuka Resources and Rock Tech Lithium, and Bayer writes billion-dollar losses
Australian gold and silver explorer Manuka Resources has successfully shipped its third gold shipment to Australasia's leading independent precious metals assayer, ABC Refinery. Shares in Manuka Resources rose nearly 8% following the news. In addition, the Company now plans regular weekly shipments as it processes various stockpiles from its Mt Boppy gold project. Bayer AG is reporting losses of billions of dollars due to write-downs in its Monsanto agriculture division, again fueling breakup rumors. The group is struggling with significant declines in its glyphosate-based weedkiller business, which is weighing heavily on its finances. A promising newcomer on the commodities horizon is emerging right in Germany's Brandenburg region. There, Rock Tech Lithium is working to develop battery-grade lithium hydroxide monohydrate by building and operating lithium hydroxide production facilities.

CleanTech stocks about to rally? Standard Lithium, FREYR Battery, RegenX Tech Corp.
FREYR Battery could break out of its sideways trend next week. On August 10, the Company will report on its performance in the second quarter. Analysts see significant upside potential. At Regenx, too, there are many indications of an exciting second half. The first recycling plant for the extraction of platinum and palladium is currently being ramped up. In addition, the Company intends to earn money from emission certificates in the future. Tension is also rising at Standard Lithium. When will the feasibility study for the Arkansas project be completed, and will Germany's Lanxess then move to strike?

Plenty of upside potential: Plug Power, Standard Lithium, Defense Metals
After Nel ASA exceeded sales expectations in the second quarter, Goldman Sachs recommended the stock as a buy. The price target is NOK 20, offering almost 50% upside potential. Now Plug Power is also recommended as a buy, and analysts see a significantly higher price potential. Experts see nearly 200% price potential for Standard Lithium after the Company published convincing drilling results. Not yet on the screen of analysts is Defense Metals. But this could change soon. The Company is developing an exciting rare earths project in North America, and the preliminary economic valuation of over CAD 500 million gives the stock plenty of upside.

K+S, Almonty Industries, Rock Tech Lithium - Europe arms itself against shortage situation
European industry is transforming, with the ban on combustion engines from 2035 being just one example. The energy transition is creating an increased need for critical materials and raw materials to make the changeover in industry possible. The European Commission has also recognized this and launched a Critical Raw Materials Act (CRMA). This is intended to optimize and diversify supplies. Recycling and research into resource efficiency are also on the agenda. We, therefore, look at three companies involved in critical raw materials.

Grid Metals Corp., FREYR Battery, Mercedes-Benz - Mega opportunity in electrification: Lithium demand increases worldwide
The world is being electrified, and that requires resources! Canadian company Grid Metals Corporation, an exploration and development company located in Manitoba and Ontario, offers these resources. Grid Metals has now received initial drill results from the Donner Lake area, which is a promising lithium region. Manitoba's strategically valuable location makes it ideal for leveraging trading relationships with the US. Meanwhile, Norwegian company FREYR Battery posted a 33.19% share price increase after successfully assembling and charging the first semi-automatic lithium-ion battery cells at its facility. The Company plans to deliver samples to customers before the end of the second half of the year. Mercedes-Benz focuses on high-quality luxury vehicles to benefit from higher margins and affluent customers. A devastating accident occurred within the group at the Daimler Truck plant, which impacted the balance sheet.

Hydrogen vs battery shares: From Plug Power to Standard Lithium and Power Nickel?
Who does the future belong to? Hydrogen or battery technology? The truth likely lies somewhere in the middle, and both technologies will find their place. However, it is clear that batteries currently have the upper hand in the context of electromobility. This can also be seen in the stock market. While companies like Nel ASA and Plug Power are struggling, Tesla, BYD & Co. are celebrating record sales. But success is heavily dependent on the supply of raw materials. Lithium and nickel are scarce and in high demand. Standard Lithium and Power Nickel are among the profiteers. Standard Lithium is recommended as a buy by analysts with around 100% price potential. Power Nickel has again published promising drill results, which could multiply the upcoming resource estimate. Plug Power is currently overshadowed by the Nucera IPO, but there is some interesting news.

Standard Lithium, Grid Metals, Volkswagen - Lithium is essential for electromobility
Electric vehicle sales continue to outpace sales expectations, driving demand for lithium, nickel and other battery raw materials. At the same time, the supply of these raw materials faces challenges, including technical problems with new types of lithium deposits, permitting procedures and social issues. This situation could lead to a 5-6 year opportunity for sustained higher lithium prices. First-to-market projects can achieve significant market valuation, so companies are focused on rapid implementation and revenue generation. We, therefore, look at two lithium companies and examine how Volkswagen plans to address the challenges in procurement.

Allkem, Grid Metals, Rock Tech Lithium - Gigantic movements
It is called the white gold. Lithium-ion batteries are currently the most widely used energy storage devices in electric vehicles. The soft alkali metal offers high specific energy, which means it can store a lot of energy per unit weight, which enables electric vehicles to have a greater range. Due to the growing demand resulting from the transformation in the transport sector, there is a disproportionate demand for the critical raw material. Supply, on the other hand, is severely limited.
