Verbio, Kleos Space, KWS Saat - This news is moving share prices!
Increased uncertainties in geopolitics, rampant inflation with exploding commodity and energy prices, and higher interest rates are making it increasingly difficult for companies to meet the forecasts they issued at the beginning of the year. Recent examples include battery manufacturer Varta and real estate financier Hypoport, which had to withdraw their annual targets. In addition, however, a number of companies have been able to surprise on the upside despite all the challenges.

Time for bargain hunters? Plug Power, Varta and Pathfinder Ventures
Growth stocks are currently under particular pressure. But this can also create opportunities for bargain hunters. Perhaps in the case of Varta? The share has crashed sharply after a profit warning. Now, the first analyst has upgraded the share from "sell" to "buy". But even his reasoning does not sound like a new growth story. Plug Power also tends to live on the hope of growth. While the new production facility is technically a milestone, it needs more. In contrast, things are going well at Pathfinder Ventures. The still unknown tourism company is profiting from the camping boom in North America, and its valuation is anything but expensive.

Barrick Gold, Tocvan Ventures, Newmont, Glencore - Long-term positioning in gold makes sense
The FED's recent interest rate hikes and Chairman Jerome Powell's statement sent both equity and precious metals markets into the valley of tears. By all means, the monetary guardians want to curb rampant inflation. Whether this will succeed seems at least questionable. After all, it should not be forgotten that this would put an end to the already sputtering engine of the global economy. In addition, many already highly indebted countries are falling into ever greater problems due to higher interest payments. Thus, it is time to take a long-term, anticyclical position in the precious metals sector.

Deutsche Bank, Desert Gold, Uniper: Watch out for the financial crisis!
The energy crisis is pushing utilities to the brink, the election victory of the radical right-wing party Fratelli d'Italia is putting a strain on the EU - and what are banks doing in this context? Weeks ago, Germany's top banking supervisor Raimund Rösler warned that the rapid turnaround in interest rates could also overburden some institutions. We look at banks, gas traders and a possible laughing third party.

Hypoport, Saturn Oil + Gas, Deutsche Bank - Hard-hitting announcements from analysts
Due to uncertainties in the global economy with fears of recession, blown supply chains coupled with rampant inflation, it is becoming increasingly difficult for companies to maintain their forecasts. The latest example is battery maker Varta, which withdrew its full-year estimates altogether due to increased production costs. Analysts reacted with downgrades. In contrast, despite recent corrections, most financial experts are optimistic for the long term, especially for the commodities sector.

Defence Therapeutics, Amazon, BioNTech - Innovative technologies for health
While WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus sees the end of the Corona pandemic within reach, companies like BioNTech have more products in the pipeline to bring successful drugs to market. In order to ensure that this happens thoroughly and more quickly, Canadian company Defence Therapeutics is stepping up to shorten development cycles with a unique platform technology in oncology. Cancer has still not been eradicated. An end, however, is in sight for Amazon's in-house healthcare division. Amazon Care is closing its doors at the end of the year, but the Seattle-based corporation still cannot let go of the lucrative healthcare business...

Nel, Steinhoff, Viva Gold: What is going on?
Is the rebound coming for the Nel share, or are all the dams breaking? At the moment, this is the situation with the popular hydrogen specialist. After the quarterly figures, Credit Suisse, among others, lowered their thumbs and the share is also clearly battered on the chart. The latter also applies to Viva Gold. Operationally, things are going well for the Canadians. Can a stabilizing gold price turn investors' attention to the low valuation? Investors have been debating for years whether Steinhoff is favorably valued or not. Recently, the share price jumped significantly. What is going on?

BP, Saturn Oil + Gas, Shell - Oil stocks benefit from the colder season
There was a lot of news relevant to the oil price in September. Earlier in the month, Gazprom announced it would no longer send gas through Nord Stream 1 due to an oil leak. Shortly thereafter, the G7 countries decided on a price cap for Russian oil to take effect in December. OPEC announced on September 5 that it would cut production. The reason given was fear of an economic slowdown. The EU also decided on various measures to cope with the energy shortage, including a solidarity contribution by companies for fossil fuels to support socially vulnerable households. Even though the oil price has softened somewhat recently due to recession fears, the seasonalities show that the price will likely pick up again in December. Winter is creating additional demand for oil.

Siemens Energy, Barsele Minerals, Nordex, HelloFresh - Markets under the spell of the Fed
The all-dominant topic this week is the interest rate decision of the US Federal Reserve. On Wednesday, a further tightening of interest rates is considered a certainty. However, experts even assume the largest interest rate step for over 40 years with an increase of a whole percentage point. Of course, this would weigh on the precious metals and crypto sectors in addition to the stock markets. In the medium term, however, a change in strategy by the monetary guardians could be on the horizon.

Nordex, Aspermont, TeamViewer AG - New opportunities for growth stocks
The skies for growth stocks have clouded over considerably since the beginning of the year with the change in strategy by the central banks. With all their might, the monetary guardians want to curb rampant inflation with several interest rate hikes. This week, the Fed is expected to make a third major interest rate hike, with experts predicting a rise of 100 basis points. However, whether further interest rate steps will follow is likely to be at least questioned. If the fight against inflation continues to be played as a trump card for the re-election of the current government until the midterm elections in the US, a change of strategy is likely to be made afterwards at the latest in order not to bring the economy to a complete standstill. The result would be a bullish stock market, with growth stocks in particular likely to benefit significantly.
