BYD, XXIX Metal Corp, Volkswagen – Copper crowns the electric boom

  • Mining
  • Copper
  • Commodities
  • Electromobility

Electric mobility is gaining momentum worldwide, and copper is becoming an indispensable fuel for this energy transition. Without the metal, there would be a lack of batteries, electric motors, and the necessary infrastructure like charging stations. In the automotive sector, Chinese electric vehicle pioneer BYD is setting the course for its global expansion with a multi-billion dollar share issuance. The Company aims to produce 6 million vehicles in 2025. This boom will benefit the demand for raw materials such as copper. Here, the Company XXIX Metal shines. The Canadian copper explorer holds nearly 5 billion pounds of copper and could become a key player in this boom. Its name says it all: "XXIX" for the Roman numeral 29, which represents the atomic number of copper in the periodic table. Volkswagen can breathe a sigh of relief thanks to relaxed EU CO₂ regulations, but the Company is burdened by the planned US tariffs and technical setbacks. We provide the details.

Used car boom and electric offensive: Credissential, BYD, and VW in the race for the future

  • Technology
  • AI

In the US and Europe, high inflation is causing a loss of purchasing power. The used car market is becoming increasingly attractive for balancing price and performance in times when money is tight. Related topics such as financing and insuring vehicles must also be smartly considered. This is where the tech company Credissential comes in, with a platform solution that meets the modern purchasing behavior of Gen Z. Optimized for smartphones, tablets, and laptops, Credissential provides millions of US users with digital access to connected used car dealers. In the future, financial and insurance issues will also be seamlessly integrated with Credissential. Meanwhile, electric vehicle manufacturer BYD is dominating the new car market with affordable EVs. Potential buyers are impressed by the modern technology, but the Chinese manufacturer faces regulatory hurdles. The Volkswagen Group, once an industry giant, is struggling with declining market shares in China and consumer protection allegations, as recent Italian investigations into battery longevity show. For investors, the picture is clear: those who can strike the right balance between cost awareness, sustainability, and innovation could lead the way in the future. Who will win the race for price-sensitive, modern buyers?

In a world caught between climate targets and geopolitical tensions, three companies in seemingly different industries are driving the green transformation with disruptive technology and strategic foresight. In recent months, the EU has announced two infrastructure packages worth billions for renewable energies and critical raw materials. Whether e-mobility, mineral raw materials or wind power – they all share one goal: to redefine their sectors. However, the starting point is always the raw materials needed for the electrification of the world.

Elon Musk is losing, now comes hydrogen! Watch out for BYD, Plug Power, First Hydrogen, and Mercedes

  • Hydrogen
  • greenhydrogen
  • Electromobility
  • Fuelcells

Tesla has already lost its leading role to BYD, but there are other winners from the Texan crash. Mercedes is one of the profiteers. First Hydrogen is ready to roll out its innovative solutions. Since nuclear power plants are almost emission-free during operation, the carbon footprint of green hydrogen from nuclear energy is comparable to that from renewable sources such as wind and solar. Unlike wind or solar energy, nuclear power can produce electricity around the clock because it is not dependent on weather conditions. In countries such as France, Finland, and Japan, nuclear energy is already being considered as an option for hydrogen production to drive the decarbonization of industry. Which stocks are coming to the fore as a result?

The stock market started the new year at full speed. The DAX index reached 22,900 points in February, which is in line with some analysts' year-end targets. Liquidity is high and sentiment remains buoyant despite all the negative events in the real world. The federal elections are just around the corner, with the prospect of a grand coalition with green or yellow enrichment. The people of Germany hope for a big change, but none of our politicians have the stature of a Donald Trump, who establishes new conditions by the second. The likelihood is high that coalition negotiations will take longer than we believe today, and the uncertainty surrounding the German economy will likely continue for a while. It will be interesting to see whether Germany ever experiences a real "double whammy". After all, there are enough problems to solve, but so far, the will and courage are lacking. Here you will find a selection of titles that could cause a stir even after the election.

In a world balancing between climate targets and geopolitical tensions, three companies are working on the future of the energy and mobility transition and depend on critical raw materials like copper. While the 2025 German federal election is reigniting the debate on renewable energies – with demands for clear framework conditions for wind power and critical voices from the political arena – other players are pushing ahead with disruptive technologies. BYD showcases the future with AI-driven assistance systems. Benton Resources is unlocking key resources for green technologies like copper, nickel, zinc, and gold, and Nordex receives record orders despite uncertain markets. These companies have more in common than their focus on sustainability: they represent a new era of innovation in which strategic decisions made today determine tomorrow's competitiveness.

After the numbers season reached its peak last week, the US stock markets remained closed due to Presidents' Day, which is celebrated every year on the third Monday in February and honors the Presidents of the United States, particularly George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Nevertheless, the markets were in turmoil, partly due to US Vice President J.D. Vance's speech at the Munich Security Conference. The Ukrainian index continued to rise on the back of expected peace talks between the US and Russia, while the DAX continued its record streak, surpassing 22,700 points.

Mega rally at First Phosphate, Renk, VW, and BYD with buy signals

The stock markets continue to rise unabated. Those hoping for a correction will be disappointed. Yesterday, the DAX 40 index broke through the 22,000 mark, much faster than many had anticipated. Technology stocks SAP and Siemens remain the driving force, while on the NASDAQ, it is still the Magnificent 7 that is setting the tone. Selection is now key. We turn our attention to the upcoming battery materials supplier, First Phosphate, as well as stocks like Renk, VW, and BYD. While VW is in the middle of restructuring, BYD is continuing on its journey. The defense industry remains interesting, especially Renk. Where should one invest now?
