BYD, Orestone Mining, SMA Solar - Copper is the lifeline of the energy transition
Copper is an essential component of the energy transition. It has proven to be a key material for the production and operation of electric cars and solar plants because it is conductive, flexible and durable. It is also used in many other applications. The copper price has been in an intact upward trend since July last year. Copper serves as a leading indicator for the economy, and even if the price has recently come back a little, experts expect a further increase in the 2nd half of the year. Electric vehicles are on the rise worldwide and especially in China. The Middle Kingdom is hungry for raw materials. In the past few months, more gold has been bought. Today we look at three companies for which copper is important.

PayPal, Defiance Silver, Palantir - The rebound is firmly in sight
In the dynamic and volatile financial markets, finding investment opportunities that offer above-average returns is a constant challenge for investors. One way to achieve significant outperformance compared to the overall market is to identify promising rebound candidates that have experienced a disproportionate decline in value following weak earnings or other negative events but are likely to stage a comeback due to their business model.

Tocvan Ventures, Palantir, Rheinmetall - Well equipped with gold, AI and defence
The US banking crisis continues to move in circles, this time in slow motion instead of at the record pace of 2008. Alternatives are needed to ensure that investors are well-equipped in these times. Precious metals like gold have always been an option. Tocvan Ventures, as an exploration company, offers a promising gold and silver project called Pilar in Mexico. The launch of Palantir's first AI platform, which is located in the defence sector, also sounds promising. In view of the profit forecast, the share price jumped by a whopping 22%. Significant price gains are also to be expected at Rheinmetall. An undisclosed major order will keep the cash registers ringing for the arms giant on the Rhine, even in times of peace.

Financial crisis - which financial crisis? Spring bull market ahead: Mercedes-Benz, Blackrock Silver, Nel ASA, Plug Power - Still getting in now?
The stock markets are jumping from one high to the next. If it even comes, the long-anticipated recession has already been mentally filed away. That is because the GFK consumer climate index has been rising for 8 months, and the ifo index is once again close to the 100 mark at 96.5, which is considered an expansion signal among economists. Uncertainty in the financial sector could not be greater due to overnight takeovers. But after 8 consecutive US interest rate hikes, some market participants now believe the hawkish period is over. Since the ECB has been reluctant to get into the inflation fight, only 5 rate hikes have been registered here. Gold, silver, and even lithium are sensing the arrival of spring once again. We will now focus on three interesting stocks.

Manuka Resources, Fresenius, Amazon - Gold to offset economic dismantling and restriction measures?
For decades, the annual production of gold has been increasing. In 2020, a total of 3200 tonnes of gold was produced, with China as the largest gold producer in the world, followed by Australia and Russia. Manuka Resources is an explorer and gold producer in Australia. The Company has now developed a 3-year gold production plan to give its shareholders the most value possible. A solid precious metal like gold can provide balance in turbulent times. Fresenius, for example, is in the midst of a turnaround and is reporting its first results. Things can get tight for Amazon, Microsoft and Alphabet if the EU enforces its new cybersecurity directives - but this can also turn out to be an advantage.

Plug Power, Canadian North Resources, RWE - Critical metals as a sticking point
The dream of a climate-neutral world still exists, at least in the minds of politicians. Thus, many companies that took on the transformation of the transport and energy sectors were also given plenty of advance praise. However, there are still problems with the implementation and the leap into the profit zone. One reason for the weakening margins is the raw materials needed for the energy transition, which are still at high levels. However, due to the scarcity of many critical metals, a reduction in base prices is likely to remain a pipe dream.

Barrick Gold, Globex Mining, Deutsche Bank - Gold in rally mode
The turmoil in the banking industry has recently hit Western Alliance Bancorporation. With the demise of Silicon Valley Bank, the gold price gained momentum and is heading for its all-time high. The constant increase of the money supply by the central banks and the threatening insolvency of the US support the gold price just as much as the gold purchases from China. In April, China collected another 8.1 tonnes of gold, about 10 tonnes less than in the previous month. In Q1, gold purchases by central banks were at record levels. Good for gold producers and explorers. We look at two today and see if Deutsche Bank has recovered after the turmoil.

Security of supply? More and more commodity deals are wobbling: Lynas Rare Earths, Power Nickel, Volkswagen
Critical raw materials, such as lithium, rare earths and nickel, are indispensable for the desired mobility and heat transition. But which companies can secure the raw materials now in demand? And which mining regions are suitable? Recently, producing countries have become more and more self-confident - reason enough for investors to turn to safe mining regions.

The trend continues - BYD, Defense Metals, Hensoldt
In order to achieve the climate targets, both politics and business are taking a high risk. Fossil fuels are to be replaced by alternative energy sources as quickly as possible. In turn, the consumption of metallic raw materials is increasing in order to build renewable, energy-efficient systems. In addition to copper, cobalt and nickel, the demand for rare earth metals, which have to be imported almost entirely from China, is increasing dramatically. Since the start of the Ukraine war, there has also been growing demand from the defence industry. The producers of critical metals ex-China are likely to profit from this.

Turnaround stocks with a 300% chance do not come along every day - BASF, Defiance Silver and TUI
Whenever the stock market reaches new highs, investors look for lagging stocks. This is not so easy because a weak price performance has its reasons. But often, things are simply overlooked. We present three stocks with a good story to tell but have been left behind. BASF, Defiance Silver and TUI were conspicuously undercut. And amid all the turbulence in the financial system, silver is stealthily making its way upwards and easily overcoming the USD 25 mark. Watch out at the edge of the platform!
