Bear market in Hydrogen versus Bull market in Artificial Intelligence - Nel ASA, First Hydrogen, Nvidia and ARM Holdings
The stock market is relentless at the moment. While Nvidia has gained almost 50% in just 5 weeks, the stock market darlings Nel ASA and Plug Power continue to lose value. Small recovery attempts have been consistently sold off recently. No stone is being left unturned in this segment, and investors are eagerly awaiting the upcoming 2023 annual figures. Is there hope, or should we continue to write off hydrogen? On the other hand, some companies are making significant progress with a different business model, setting new records. So what to do? Prospera Energy, BP, Plug Power: Fossil or renewable energies - Who leads in the commodity market?
The US is currently holding back on the export of liquefied natural gas shipments, posing a challenging situation for economies like Germany that rely on energy imports. Investors are increasingly turning their attention to companies that are helping to drive forward the energy transition. To reach that goal, oil and gas companies like Prospera Energy, with their ambitious oil extraction plans, are gaining the attention of many investors. For those preferring dividend investments, BP is an unavoidable choice. The global company also mixes its energy production with renewable energy. Plug Power is a pioneer in this field, having recently commissioned another hydrogen plant in Tennessee, USA. However, the excitement about the innovation is dampened by an analyst rating.

Innovation and expansion in energy supply: Mercedes-Benz, Altech Advanced Materials and Alibaba in focus
Energy supply is one of the top issues for investors. A reliable energy supply promotes stable business conditions and supports economic growth. While the opposite is true in Germany, companies like Mercedes-Benz are focusing on lucrative projects abroad. A joint venture with China to expand charging stations is on the Stuttgart-based company's agenda. The German company Altech Advanced Materials is committed to a secure and affordable energy supply. Together with Fraunhofer IKTS, they are developing a stationary ceramic solid-state battery based on salt, especially for critical infrastructure facilities such as hospitals. This enables a smooth, vital power supply for intensive care units, even in emergencies. While Mercedes-Benz is currently eyeing China, the retail giant Alibaba is publishing its quarterly figures this week, serving as an indicator of the country's economic development. The details are summarized below.

Novo Nordisk, Cardiol Therapeutics, Morphosys - Biotechs on a high
After a disappointing stock market year 2023, there is a gold-rush mood in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. Big names such as Eli Lilly, Vertex, Amgen and Novartis are going from high to high and possess enormous momentum. Acquisitions have also increased dramatically in recent months. The takeover prices are usually significantly higher than the current share prices of the listed companies. This wave will likely increase further due to the pressure that pharmaceutical giants are feeling as licenses expire.

BYD, Defense Metals, Rheinmetall - Strategic breakthroughs open up new opportunities
Rare earth metals play a crucial role in many modern technologies, especially in electromobility and the defense industry. Their unique properties make them irreplaceable for specific applications. Demand is increasing dramatically due to ambitious climate targets and the rearmament that has occurred since the start of the war in Ukraine. China holds a quasi-monopoly on the entire value chain. In Western countries, there is a lack of alternatives to escape dependence on the Middle Kingdom.
