Crisis as Catalyst: Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank, UniCredit, RE Royalties, and PayPal in Focus

War, destruction, and infrastructure reconstruction—the financial sector is in the spotlight. Amid escalating geopolitical tensions, the rising demand for credit is causing lenders' margins to surge! This is because banks, infrastructure financiers, and specialized investment firms benefit directly from the growing demand for capital coming from many directions. The energy transition is one of the largest investment areas. In Europe alone, investments in the hundreds of billions will be needed in the coming years to modernize power grids, build storage facilities, and connect completed energy plants to the grid. Financial institutions are not only earning from loans and project financing, but increasingly also from fees, equity stakes, and long-term cash flows from energy assets. At the same time, interest margins are rising in an environment of higher financing costs, which improves the profitability of many financial institutions. Despite all the crises and difficult investment conditions, it is worth taking a look at the credit sector.

  • Fintech

The era of simple digitization is history. What separates companies today from tomorrow is no longer a question of software implementation, but one of fundamental value creation architecture. Artificial intelligence has evolved from an efficiency tool to the operating system of entire business models, with a consequence that is becoming apparent for the first time in the current quarterly figures: those who fail to rethink their scaling strategy are not only giving away growth, but also risking their very existence. We take a look at how PayPal, Aspermont, and Palantir have aligned their digital business models with AI.

New Momentum for Gold & Silver, SAP, Nvidia and PayPal – Is Lahontan Gold on the Path to Becoming a Cash Generator?

The volatility in the precious metals sector is due to a number of factors, all of which are contributing to higher prices. Over the past three weeks, banks were briefly able to catch their breath with silver prices hovering around USD 75. However, since the unrest in Mexico began, the market has been sensing a new shortage, this time politically induced. Gold can benefit from this scenario, having just reached a new all-time high of USD 5,600 in January. Following this strong rally, a textbook consolidation down to USD 4,850 took place. Yesterday, the USD 5,200 level was seen again, and technical analysts consider temporary spikes toward USD 7,500 a possible overshooting target. Investment banks have also significantly raised their estimates, with Goldman Sachs at USD 5,400, Deutsche Bank and Société Générale at USD 6,000, and JPMorgan at USD 6,500. Although they have been able to predict the gold market well in recent years, they still see room for improvement with the current "de-dollarization." At the same time, overheated tech stocks appear to be in need of further correction. For investors, this is a time for profitable reallocations.

The stock market is increasingly divided. While mining stocks are benefiting from geopolitical upheavals and the strategic race for raw materials, established market heavyweights are being punished at the slightest disappointment. This shift reflects the growing limits of globalization. Today, resilience beats efficiency. Three very different companies illustrate this new environment: tungsten producer Almonty Industries, pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk, and payment service provider PayPal. We analyze the current situation.

Money or gold – Where can investors expect another 150% return? ESG-compliant with RE Royalties, Deutsche Bank, PayPal, or Fiserv?

  • Sustainability
  • Money

  • Payments

  • ESG

Gold continues to fascinate as a scarce and value-preserving asset. However, its extraction often comes with significant environmental and social challenges, making the label "sustainable" difficult to apply. Money, on the other hand, especially in the form of cash or digital currency, is intangible and based on trust; in modern times, its sustainability is defined by its use in ESG-compliant investments. And these are diverse! With its "Green Deal," the EU is driving a comprehensive transformation and directing capital toward sustainable technologies and projects through support programs and ESG regulations. This is particularly relevant for institutional investors, who are increasingly required to consider climate risks and social responsibility. Much of this capital flows into green infrastructure and technological innovation. Private investors, meanwhile, have green investments on their radar, though the primary focus here remains on returns. Let's dive into the world of financiers.

PayPal's share price climbed from USD 30 to over USD 260 in just four years – but what fueled the hype between 2016 and 2021? PayPal was perceived as a driver of innovation. Even back then, the market praised its significant market position and potential opportunities, for example, in cryptocurrencies. Just a few days ago, PayPal finally rolled out crypto payments within its platform. However, the market had already anticipated this move years ago. This shows that companies that the market believes will continue to innovate often receive advance praise in the form of sharply rising share prices. In addition to PayPal, we present two other innovation drivers of today that could become the new darlings of the markets.

Three companies are setting the course for further growth: PayPal is opening up a new business segment in the US and launching the "PayPal Ads" advertising network to use transaction data for retail media. This move could increase the Company's clout. Meanwhile, the demand for copper is rapidly picking up speed. Prismo Metals is therefore intensifying its exploration activities, particularly at the Palos Verdes project in Mexico, in order to benefit from the increasing demand.
