Copper on the rise: Kodiak Copper, BASF and JinkoSolar benefit

  • Mining
  • Copper
  • renewableenergies

Global copper demand is estimated to double by 2035, requiring new mines, mine expansions and technological improvements at existing mines to boost production. One beneficiary of this boom is Kodiak Copper. Assay results from the recently completed drilling in late 2022 have increased the known mineralized envelope at both the Gate & Prime Zone discoveries at its British Columbia project. At the 6th International Investment Forum on February 15, CEO Claudia Tornquist will share more about this with interested investors. BASF is also taking steps to bridge the looming copper shortages due to high demand. A new cooperation is expected to accelerate copper mining. JinkoSolar, on the other hand, as a user of the highly sought-after metal, has struck another new deal. Hedge fund managers are excited.

Commodity stocks pick up, Saturn Oil + Gas, RWE, BASF - Forward-looking with high returns

  • Mining
  • Oil
  • Gas
  • Investments

Central and Northern Europe are firmly enveloped in wintry temperatures. BASF AG's balance sheet is just as frosty as the current weather because its subsidiary Wintershall Dea is no longer doing business with Russia. The consequence for BASF is a minus of EUR 1.4 billion. Business is entirely different for RWE, with the figures exceeding analyst expectations. Thanks to the commodity trading division, the Company is doing exceptionally well, so DZ Bank has set RWE at "Buy" with a fair value of EUR 53 per share. Valuable raw materials such as oil and gas are extracted by the Canadian company of the same name, Saturn Oil & Gas. Thanks to a new takeover, their production potential has increased by a whopping 140%.

Take cover - Tesla reports figures today! BYD, NIO, Power Nickel, BASF: Here we go with e-mobility!

  • Mining
  • Nickel
  • Electromobility
  • Energy

The tension is rising. How will the annual figures of the industry leader in e-mobility, Tesla, really turn out now? By the end of 2022, there was a 70% slump in the share, and Elon Musk, the founder, had USD 100 billion less in the account within 8 weeks. He himself was to blame because in order to finance the Twitter takeover, he had to part with Tesla shares. For the year 2023, we are now interested in the expectations that will be placed on e-mobility. The fact is that many countries, including Germany, are now gradually withdrawing subsidies. So the new mobility must now learn to walk by itself. Where are the opportunities for investors?

Blackout warning in the south - here's what's behind it: BASF, Manuka Resources, NEL

  • Mining
  • Vanadium
  • renewableenergies

Last Sunday, operators of power grids in Baden-Württemberg advised people to refrain from unnecessary power consumption from 5 pm onwards because otherwise, energy would have to be imported from abroad. Plans around the mandatory installation of smart electricity meters had previously been made public. This shows that the energy transition is coming - whatever the cost. We look at three shares with a green future at exciting chart points.

Shares ready for takeoff: Nel, Plug Power, BASF, Almonty Industries

  • Mining
  • Tungsten
  • Hydrogen

The New Year rally is on! The Nel share has gained around 20% since New Year's Eve. There was a tailwind from Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck, including a major order from Germany. Analysts see further upside potential. This also applies to BASF. A US analyst sees an opportunity for a good 30% price gain for the chemical giant. BASF should benefit from the current sharp decline in gas prices. The agricultural boom is also playing into the DAX company's hands. Almonty Industries wants to benefit even more from the boom in electric mobility in the future. To this end, the Group intends to become one of the leading tungsten producers. The mega-mine in South Korea is scheduled to go into operation in the current year, 2023. Financing by the German KfW has been secured, and analysts see a share price potential of over 100%.

An explosive start to 2023 for GreenTech and battery shares - BASF, Manuka Resources, Freyr and Varta in turnaround

  • Mining
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • GreenTech

In 2023, international pressure to initiate the climate turnaround remains. One potential path is seen in e-mobility. Despite the enormous development efforts of the last 5 years, no battery solution has yet been launched that could match the performance characteristics of a last-generation diesel powertrain. Key characteristics here are cost and sustainability in manufacturing, range, lifetime and safety. Nevertheless, progress is being made in the chemical mix of battery components, and some companies are making a name for themselves here. We analyze the current status.

The big energy question in 2023: BYD, Altech Advanced Materials, Varta, BASF - Is the thread breaking?

  • Batteries
  • Electromobility

Although the year 2023 starts with rising share prices, Central Europe is entering a difficult period. The start of the New Year brings a new situation for German consumers of refined products, as the purchase of crude oil via the Druzhba pipeline has now been stopped. Germany is thus implementing the oil embargo against Russia decided in the EU and losing a vital supply of oil overnight. As a result, the East German refinery in Schwedt reduced its throughput to 55% and is looking around for other suppliers. Whether this will work out in the short term is more than questionable. If the gas storage facilities are empty at the end of the relatively warm winter, the energy question will arise again. We now realize how fatally energy dependence on Russia has grown over the past decades. How tangible are alternative energies and the high-performance energy storage facilities they require?

Tocvan Ventures, BASF, BYD - These companies are set to scale up

  • Mining
  • Gold

Gold is a key ingredient in the telecom industry. If Apple scales up its iPhone and iPad production in India with partner BYD, the demand for gold will increase immensely. Canadian explorer Tocvan Ventures specializes in exploring and mining gold sites in Mexico. After successfully exploring the area in the "Pilar Project", the Company is going to the next round. Analysis of the percentage of gold in the current drilling is pending. Things could also be looking up again for BASF. Subsidiary Wintershall Dea has discovered a hot commodity in the Norwegian Sea.

200% possible at ThyssenKrupp and Tocvan Ventures, and question marks at VW and BASF

  • Mining
  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Electromobility
  • Energy

As we approach the end of the year, it is difficult to separate the real economic opportunities from the current war and crisis scenarios. The forecasting institutes are also poking around in the fog with their statements for 2023, with a still conciliatory economic development at the zero line being defined subject to falling interest rates and declining inflation. Under the sword of Damocles of a possible gas crisis starting in March, however, all predictions turn negative because Germany as an industrial location is already struggling considerably with the energy and electricity price increases. So how do you select a top performer for the portfolio?

Excitement at BASF, Nel ASA, Meta Materials: Shares for 2023

  • metamaterials
  • Innovations
  • Digitization

After a difficult 2022, investors are looking ahead to the coming year. In 2023, it will be important to pick the right stocks again because there will be winners - despite the war in Ukraine, high inflation and rising interest rates. At the same time, the price rockets of the old year are rarely also those of the new year. As is well known, BASF shares have struggled in 2022. If energy prices continue to ease, the high dividend yield, among other things, will entice investors. Also, there is news in the electromobility megamarket. There is no question that hydrogen offers huge opportunities worldwide. But companies like Nel and Plug Power must finally wake up faster and reduce losses. At Nel ASA, a sell recommendation weighed on the share price at the end of the year. Hot stock Meta Materials has already multiplied sales in the first 3 quarters of 2022, and the chances are good that the positive trend will continue in 2023. Then the Meta Materials share should also take off.
