MiMedia: Over USD 100 million in revenue potential but low valuation

Cloud hidden gem MiMedia Holdings is well on its way to making a breakthrough this year. After securing a partnership with Walmart in March, the next big news has now been announced. On Wednesday, a global distribution agreement was signed with Chinese device manufacturer coolpad. coolpad is currently expanding its tablets and smartphones into more than 20 international markets, including regions such as Latin America, Africa, and Eastern Europe.

As part of the partnership, the MiMedia platform for media content is expected to be pre-installed on up to 5 million mobile devices over the next two years. Pre-installation is probably the easiest way for MiMedia to achieve a market breakthrough.

In addition to the important US market, MiMedia is focusing on emerging markets in Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Smartphone users in these regions often cannot afford Apple or Google cloud services but still want to store, edit, and share their photos across devices. To penetrate the market, MiMedia is working with smartphone manufacturers and telecommunications providers worldwide, offering its partners recurring revenue streams, improved customer loyalty, and market differentiation. coolpad manager Michael Wang commented: "coolpad is delighted to offer its customers the unique and appealing cloud experience provided by MiMedia. MiMedia perfectly fits our strategy of offering families first-class smartphones with leading software technologies at affordable prices."

MiMedia's revenue and earnings are already expected to grow significantly in the current year, as according to the Company, the first 2 million smartphones with the pre-installed MiMedia app will be sold in the US this year. As part of the partnership with Walmart Latin America, the MiMedia app will not only be pre-installed on newly sold smartphones in Mexico but will also be delivered to over 18 million existing customers via an over-the-air (OTA) update.

If MiMedia were to generate just USD 5 per customer per year, this would mean annual revenue of over USD 100 million – recurring and high-margin. The share price, which is also traded on German stock exchanges, reacted positively yesterday. However, the 10% jump to EUR 0.33 is likely to be just the beginning. MiMedia's market capitalization is currently in the low double-digit million CAD range. This appears to be too little.

    D-Wave Quantum: Insiders cash in

Investors are hoping for significant revenue and earnings potential at D-Wave Quantum; however, the valuation is in a completely different dimension than that of MiMedia. At the beginning of March, Quantum shares were trading at around EUR 4. It is now over EUR 16. A new all-time high of EUR 17.20 was reached a few days ago. The market capitalization has climbed to an impressive USD 5 billion.

This appears to be a level at which insiders are cashing in. A few days ago, it was reported that Steven West, Chairman of the Board at D-Wave, and Roger Biscay, one of the Company's directors, sold D-Wave shares worth USD 7.13 million.

CEO Baratz had already traded heavily beforehand. However, tax reasons were cited for this. Baratz sold 845,813 shares at a price of USD 17 per share. The total value was around USD 14.38 million. At the same time, Baratz exercised stock options to purchase 845,813 shares at a price of USD 0.91 per share, representing a total transaction value of USD 769,689. Not a bad deal. After the transactions, Baratz's shareholding remained unchanged at 2,866,412. One day earlier, Baratz had sold 19,023 shares at a price of USD 13.15 each. No reason was given for why this sale was made at a price significantly below the daily rate of over USD 16.

Should investors follow management's lead and take profits? As the saying goes, nobody ever went broke taking a profit. However, the stock currently has a lot of momentum, and the sales should not be overrated. And with Nvidia's strong figures, the entire tech sector could gain new momentum. MiMedia's stock should also benefit from this.

    Nel: Samsung the last hope?

The hydrogen sector currently lacks positive momentum that could benefit Nel. The hope for rising prices rests largely on the new major shareholder, Samsung.

As of this week, the Korean conglomerate is also represented on the board of directors. At the extraordinary general meeting, Gyuyeon Kang, Executive Vice President of Samsung E&A, was appointed to the board. This appointment is valid until the next annual general meeting in 2026.

Samsung E&A had previously presented its CompassH2 concept for hydrogen plants. An integrated solution for all stages of the value chain is set to establish new standards in terms of performance and cost efficiency. The concept is based on Nel's electrolysis technology. Nel CEO Håkon Volldal commented: "We are very pleased about the partnership with Samsung E&A, which is now commercializing its solution using Nel's technology and thus expanding into large-scale hydrogen production based on electrolysers."

However, the Samsung boost for the Nel stock from March has already fizzled out. At EUR 0.21, the share price is trading virtually at an all-time low.

The Nvidia figures should improve sentiment for technology stocks again. MiMedia should also benefit from this. The latest cooperation is another important step forward. The chances are good that the cloud stock will break out of its sideways movement and reach new highs. D-Wave has further momentum, and the quantum hype is not expected to end anytime soon. However, the stock is likely to remain volatile. In contrast, Nel needs new large orders and major steps toward profitability.

From publisher to data company: Why Aspermont needs to close the valuation gap with Glacier and Informa

    • bigdata

    • Digitization
    • Media

There is a clear two-tier society on the stock market when it comes to the valuation of information providers. Traditional media companies that depend on advertising revenue are often traded at low single-digit multiples. Data providers, on the other hand, which retain their customers through subscriptions and proprietary databases, enjoy the high valuations of the tech sector. Aspermont, the Australian market leader for B2B information in the commodities sector, is currently undergoing this lucrative transformation. A look at the competition reveals where the journey could lead. While the Canadian company Glacier Media shows how to profitably combine news and data, the British giant Informa proves that specialized B2B information is a billion-dollar business. Aspermont is currently aggressively adapting these successful models, but is still valued by the market like an old-fashioned newspaper publisher. Yet the Company has long since proven that it can win over wealthy customers in the B2B segment.

Is the price of uranium about to jump above the USD 100 mark? Analysts believe this could happen as early as next year. After a mixed 2025, a significant upward trend is anticipated. In the US in particular, nuclear energy is increasingly seen as a key solution to the growing energy demand driven by the boom in data centers. One company set to benefit is American Atomics. In an interview, the head of this hidden gem describes the prospects. The hype surrounding Plug Power has faded again. Investors' hopes for a sustained upward trend have once again been dashed. Is an improvement on the horizon? And what are the prospects for high-flyer D-Wave Quantum? A recent study is giving the sector a boost.

Car wash as a source of revenue: How WashTec combines the business models of Dover and Ecolab

    • carwash

    • Digitization

Car washing has traditionally been considered a conservative business - steel, brushes, and water, with no major disruptions, or so people believe. But behind the scenes, a change is taking place that requires a reassessment of the industry. WashTec, the global market leader for car washes based in Augsburg, Germany, is currently shedding its role as a pure machine manufacturer and transforming itself into an integrated high-tech service provider. To understand the potential of this metamorphosis, it is worth looking across the Atlantic. While US industrial giant Dover Corporation demonstrates how lucrative the global scaling of hardware can be, Ecolab provides the blueprint for stable, recurring revenues through chemistry and process optimization. WashTec now combines precisely these strengths - machinery, chemistry, digitalization, and service - under one roof, positioning itself for investors as the industry's overall technological optimizer. We take a look behind the scenes.
