Where is the next 749% lurking? Volkswagen, Edison Lithium, Rock Tech Lithium

  • Lithium

While many commodities have priced in a recession these days, "white gold" is shining brighter than ever. Lithium, an important basic material for accumulators and batteries, is referred to as "white gold". As recently as 2020, the price of a ton of lithium carbonate was quoted at just over USD 8,000. Today, the coveted substance stands at a whopping USD 71,000. Here is how investors can profit from this trend and which companies need to dress warmly.

BP, Saturn Oil + Gas, Shell - The right time to enter oil stocks?

  • Oil
  • greenhydrogen

Since mid-June, the oil price has been on a downward slide. On the one hand, there are concerns about a recession. On the other hand, OPEC has increased the production volume by more than 600,000 barrels per day, at least until the end of August, in order to compensate for the loss of production by Russia. That increases the amount of oil produced worldwide because even Russia is still selling its oil to countries that have not joined the sanctions. So why are analysts like Goldman Sachs still bullish on oil? For one thing, the Ukraine conflict seems to be lingering. Also, China's zero-Covid strategy is currently far from its regular demand. If the Chinese government changes its approach, the oil price will continue to rise in the long term, also due to a lack of investment by oil multinationals.

Gold price close to long-term buy signal - Desert Gold, Newmont and Barrick Gold in waiting position

  • Gold

Gold reached a new low for the year with the interim slide below the psychologically important mark of USD 1,700 per troy ounce. Thus, the precious yellow metal, which is supposed to act as a crisis currency, completely lost the gains since Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In the short term, there is now the threat of another test to the downside in the area of USD 1,600 per ounce. In the long term, gold should regain its role as an inflation hedge and a currency against major crises. It is, therefore, slowly time to build up anticyclical positions.

BASF, Meta Materials, Nordex - Shares under pressure, but with positive prospects

  • metamaterials
  • Technology

These are currently rough times on the stock market. Almost all segments are under pressure, and even investments with long-term prospects are trading at significant discounts. In many areas, the fear of a recession is great, but on the other hand, inflation is eating up money. Gold currently offers no protection against inflation and is looking for its bottom. So really, only stocks remain as an investment. It is important to find companies that will do good business in the future, even if the current situation does not look rosy. Nobody knows where the bottom will be formed, but you can start to build up first positions. Today we have picked out three stocks to build on in the long term.

The summer of rising incidences is making its way, but the public has already shelved the pandemic measures and hospitals are filling up again. Even if no one wants to talk about it anymore, the fourth wave is coming! Worldwide, the race for suitable vaccines or treatment methods continues. Medicine is still relatively helpless as far as treating severe cases is concerned, and the subject of post-COVID is considered completely unexplored. We take another critical look at the landscape of biotech stocks.

Significantly higher targets at BYD and Barsele Minerals, a setback in hydrogen for Plug Power

  • Gold
  • Hydrogen
  • Electromobility

The preliminary half-year figures of the Chinese electric mobility company BYD have been published and once again beat analyst forecasts. Following the announcement, the various houses showered themselves with newly set price targets far above the current price. In contrast, at the end of last week, US shares of renewable energies, particularly hydrogen-related companies, came under the wheels. Due to the high inflation rate, an enormously important economic and climate package could be called off.

Where scarcity turns to yield: TUI, Defense Metals, K+S

  • RareEarths
  • Inflation

Long lines at baggage check-ins, sold-out fan heaters and expensive sunflower oil: everything is in short supply at the moment. Given the shortages, many economists anticipate that it could become a nail in the coffin for the economy. As the economic survey by the Institute for Economic Research (IER) shows, the construction industry, in particular, is heading for a recession. Many developers simply no longer feel like planning unpredictable projects. We highlight other sectors and companies characterized by scarcity and point out opportunities.

The sun is shining, an increasing number of German states are starting school vacations, and despite a summer corona wave, travel is finally possible again. Renewable energies in action: ThyssenKrupp, Altech Advanced Materials, Plug Power - Who is winning the race?

  • renewableenergies
  • GreenTech
  • greenhydrogen
  • Technology

Steel is responsible for 8 to 11% of global CO₂ emissions. It is essential for the automotive and construction industries and the manufacture of industrial machinery. It also forms the basis for a number of decarbonization technologies, including wind turbines, generators and smart grids. Without companies like ThyssenKrupp, it would not be possible to build electric cars, which will run faster than Elon Musk can tweet, thanks to innovative battery technology from Altech Advanced Materials AG. GreenTech companies like Plug Power also need steel for their green hydrogen plants. And ThyssenKrupp needs green hydrogen for CO₂-free production. Who is winning the race in the green energy play?
