Commerzbank, Blackrock Silver, JinkoSolar - Banking crisis fuels demand for precious metals
May 3 was marked by the decision of the FED. The experts expect this to be the last interest rate hike for the time being. The interest rate increases of the past months have led customers to withdraw their money from the banks, which, however, had put the money into long-term government bonds that had fallen in value. Accordingly, First Republic was the next victim and the assets were sold to JP Morgan. Despite the interest rate hikes, inflation remains at a high level. This is one of the reasons why precious metals such as gold and silver have made significant gains recently. Silver is essential in many industrial sectors, especially in the production of solar panels.

Central bankers are currently in a huge dilemma. They should fight the price pressure with a tough interest rate policy and gradual withdrawal of liquidity. However, this increases the existing risk of recession and the danger of a new financial crisis worldwide. In fact, past interest rate restrictions have already left grinding marks in the US banking system because gigantic write-downs on price losses still lie dormant in the books of institutions that had believed in eternally low interest rates. After the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank and the forced takeover of Credit Suisse, uncertainty has again taken a stranglehold on the markets. Gold and silver reacted with a giant leap. Eight days ago, we mentioned Credit Suisse as the supposed crisis bank and speculated: "It is quite possible that there will be a consolidation of the industry in the next few weeks and that problem banks will be taken over by market competitors." Meta Materials and Palantir for the future, what is Commerzbank doing?
The financial industry is shaking after the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and the problems of Credit Suisse. The rapid rise in interest rates caught banks cold that had bet on long government bonds with low interest rates. SVB had to report losses due to the falling prices of these bonds. As a result, more and more customers withdrew their funds, and the bank was already in trouble, even though the government bonds were supposedly safe. Now the FED is likely to reconsider its interest rate policy. Some market participants even expect the interest rate to be lowered. This plays into the cards of growth companies, which previously suffered from the hikes. We, therefore, highlight Meta Materials and Palantir, two growth companies with innovative technologies, and conclude with a look at Commerzbank.

Deutsche Bank, Desert Gold, Commerzbank - Back to the safe haven
The willingness of investors to take risks increased in recent months despite further interest rate fears and geopolitical uncertainties, but this was abruptly interrupted by the surprising bankruptcy of Silicon Valley Bank. While some banking and financial stocks were dragged down by double digits, the precious metals gold and silver, as well as the cryptocurrencies, celebrated a comeback after a correction lasting several weeks. The next upward wave may have begun, especially in the precious yellow metal, with the climbing of new highs.

Gold and silver prices will continue to rise in 2023, as a weaker US dollar and loose monetary policy should drive precious metals higher. There is great joy at Tocvan Ventures in light of the latest drilling results. The team expects the Pilar area to produce similar results to other miners in the region. Precious metals are finding great sales in the solar industry. Investors will learn today the business results of solar panel manufacturer JinkoSolar. The Chinese company has recently been allowed to export to the US again. Commerzbank has to cope with a touch of greenwashing; a district court made a momentous judgement for a subsidiary.
