Deutsche Telekom Shifts into High Gear

Deutsche Telekom is currently showing its best side and underscoring its role as a solid anchor in the DAX. Management is looking ahead with optimism and has revised its free cash flow forecast upward. The stock market promptly acknowledged these successes with a sharp jump in the share price.

Specifically, consolidated revenue climbed 4.4% to EUR 29.9 billion in the second quarter of 2026. While adjusted earnings per share declined slightly from EUR 0.54 in the prior year to EUR 0.51, Telekom was able to increase revenue in its home market of Germany by 3.5% to EUR 6.5 billion. Once again, the US subsidiary T-Mobile US proved to be a growth driver, playing a key role in prompting the Executive Board to raise its full-year forecast for free cash flow after leases from over EUR 19.8 billion to approximately EUR 20 billion. To allow shareholders to share further in the company's success and to support the share price, the Bonn-based company is expanding its ongoing 2026 share buyback program by an additional EUR 3 billion to a total volume of up to EUR 5 billion.

Nevertheless, the situation remains turbulent for the most important growth driver, the US subsidiary T-Mobile US. There, new competition looms from Elon Musk's space company SpaceX, which plans to offer mobile services directly via satellite in the future. Furthermore, according to media reports, merger talks for a full integration of T-Mobile US valued at USD 300 billion have, for the time being, failed due to resistance from institutional minority shareholders of the US subsidiary.

The DTE stock is now trading above both key SMAs (50-day and 200-day) again and, from a technical analysis perspective, could now be heading toward the all-time high in the range of EUR 32.50–33.00. Exciting!

    Reassessment at Deutsche Bank

From the telecommunications sector, our attention turns directly to the banking industry, where Deutsche Bank is currently making positive headlines. The Frankfurt-based bank reported surprisingly strong second-quarter results. Earnings per share jumped from EUR 0.49 in the same period last year to EUR 0.84. The bank also posted an 8.44% increase in consolidated revenue, bringing the total to EUR 16.30 billion. This performance was driven primarily by strong investment banking results and stable interest income.

Reactions from the analyst community were not long in coming. The experts at Warburg Research upgraded the stock from "Hold" to "Buy" and raised the price target from EUR 34.60 to EUR 39.00. The stock is currently trading at around EUR 33, bringing it back close to its multi-week high of EUR 34.26, after hitting a low of EUR 23.54 in March. Given the company's ambitious targets for 2028, the stock is poised for a fundamental revaluation that could unlock further upside potential. This stock is also very interesting!

Power Metallic Mines Focuses on Critical Metal Deposits

While established companies on the domestic stock market, such as Deutsche Telekom or Deutsche Bank, provide reliable returns, risk-tolerant investors may also be turning their attention to the Canadian exploration company Power Metallic Mines. The company is focused on the Nisk Project in Quebec, Canada, which is considered one of the world's highest-grade copper and platinum-group metal discoveries. In addition to copper, nickel, and cobalt, the Lion Zone hosts significant deposits of platinum, palladium, gold, and silver. The metallurgical test results underscore the quality of the ore, with outstanding recovery rates of 98.9% for copper, 96.8% for platinum, and 93.9% for palladium.

The latest company announcements underscore the project's calibre. On June 23, 2026, Power Metallic released new infill drilling results from the western part of the Lion Zone in preparation for the upcoming mineral resource estimate. Drill hole PML-26-115 returned an impressive 13.30 m grading 3.98% copper equivalent (CuEq) near surface, starting at a depth of 25 m. Drill hole PML-26-105 even intersected 5.26 m at a depth of 140 m with an outstanding 8.45% CuEq. These results confirm the continuity of the high-grade ore zones.

Finally, on July 15, 2026, the final results of the winter drilling program in the eastern Lion Zone were released. Drill hole PML-26-116 stood out with 36.42 m at 2.83% CuEq, which included a high-grade interval of 6.00 m at 12.38% CuEq. In addition, shareholders approved all proposals at the annual general meeting. This paves the way for the company's planned listing on a major US stock exchange.

From a technical analysis perspective, Power Metallic Mines' stock currently presents an interesting setup. The stock has recently broken out of a minor downtrend and could soon test the upper boundary of the wedge pattern in the CAD 1.45 range. With the current share price at around CAD 1.14, this could present an attractive opportunity to buy on a rebound. The fundamental level at CAD 1.00 provides fairly strong support on the downside. Financial backing is secured through CAD 28 million in raised capital and notable investors such as Eric Sprott, Rob McEwen, and Robert Friedland. The research firm GBC sets the price target for the shares at CAD 3.00, reflecting considerable upside potential.

Something really big could be in the works here!

    Conclusion: Fundamentals and Opportunity

In summary, this trio offers an exciting opportunity for a variety of investor profiles. Deutsche Telekom stands out as a reliable dividend payer with robust cash flow growth. Deutsche Bank is leveraging the tailwinds of the interest rate turnaround and a strong investment banking division to drive a dynamic revaluation. Power Metallic Mines rounds out the picture as an interesting junior explorer. The Canadian project stands out thanks to outstanding ore grades, prominent investors, solid finances, and upcoming milestones such as the resource estimate and a US stock market listing. With a share price of around CAD 1.14 and an analyst target of CAD 3.00, Power Metallic Mines could represent an attractive high-upside addition to a well-diversified resource portfolio.

These are turbulent times for the stock markets. Interest rates are rising, bank stocks are weakening, and the number of mega-IPOs, including SpaceX and Anthropic, keeps growing. Parallels with previous stock-market crashes are becoming increasingly apparent. Yet many investors are still riding a wave of euphoria. The current bull market is already the longest in US stock-market history, driven largely by artificial intelligence. But the downside is becoming increasingly evident: valuations are high, and concentration in the major stock indices is enormous. Consider just one example: ten stocks, the so-called Magnificent Seven, along with Broadcom, AMD, and Micron, now account for 42% of the S&P 500. At these levels, there is little room for anything to go wrong. Even in this market environment, however, opportunities and risks coexist. Today, we take a closer look at Samsung, Volatus Aerospace and Equinox Gold.

Copper prices remain elevated despite ongoing market volatility. Recent developments in the physical market have provided plenty of reasons for concern. Production in Chile, by far the world's largest copper-producing country, remains subdued and is declining at some operations. Strikes are looming at several mines. Most recently, Antofagasta reported the start of a work stoppage at its Centinela mine in the Andean nation. Adding to these concerns, Deutsche Bank's commodities team highlighted the geopolitical aspects in a recent study. Copper is essential to virtually every sector of the economy, from construction and power grids to manufacturing and AI data centres. According to the study, the US and China now control, directly or indirectly, 70% of global copper production. This presents a challenge for Europe and many other regions, where securing reliable supplies of critical raw materials remains a key strategic priority. Against this backdrop, we take a closer look at the copper market and the geopolitical tensions shaping it through three stocks: Power Metallic Mines, BHP and Southern Copper.
