Plug Power stops sell-off? BYD is grabbing lithium, and Defense Metals is doing well
In Germany, the last nuclear power plants have been taken off the grid, and in North America, one battery factory after another is being built. Hydrogen is also booming. The Fraunhofer Institute, however, sees few opportunities in the passenger car sector. Experts list the lack of a filling station network and the relatively high prices for hydrogen as disadvantages compared to battery technology. Plug Power, among others, is working on improving the refuelling situation. The operating business of the Americans is in deep red. Can the Q1 figures stop the sell-off of the share? BYD shares, on the other hand, made significant gains yesterday. The Chinese are fully committed to e-cars and have entered into a lithium partnership in Chile for the necessary batteries. It is interesting to note that only a few days ago, the government of the South American country announced that it would nationalize lithium production. Is China thus grabbing the huge lithium deposits in Chile? The battle for raw materials is coming to a head. Defense Metals should profit from this. The rare earth project is located in legally secure Canada and is considered extremely promising.

Myriad Uranium, E.ON, RWE - What about our energy security?
Since April 15, 2023, nuclear energy has no longer been produced in Germany. The last 3 power plants were taken off the grid. Only time will tell whether this decision was sensible. At the end of last year, 422 reactors were operating worldwide, and 57 nuclear power plants were under construction, according to the World Nuclear Industry Status Report. Another 62 plants are in the planning stage. Demand for uranium has increased, and the price of uranium has climbed accordingly. Today we look at one uranium company and see what the German utilities are doing.

100 gigawatts by 2030 - Hydrogen to the rescue! What happens to Plug Power, dynaCERT, Nel ASA and ThyssenKrupp?
According to various surveys, the installed capacity for hydrogen is currently just 1.75 gigawatts. Nuclear power is history, but still, Germany wants to become climate neutral by 2045 at the latest. How is this to be achieved? The EU has set some guidelines and wants to install 100 gigawatts of green hydrogen by 2030. That would require more than 60 times as many electrolyzers as today for Ursula von der Leyen's plan to work. The cost of research, development and production, including infrastructure, is about EUR 2.5 trillion, which EU citizens are expected to pay for a lower-emission future. What should investors pay particular attention to on the stock market now?

Electromobility on the verge of a new era - Freyr Battery, First Phosphate, Nio
In recent years, electromobility has become increasingly important. Hydrogen, photovoltaics and nuclear power are three promising options for achieving a CO2-free energy supply. Hydrogen can be used as a fuel and as energy storage. Photovoltaic enables the direct conversion of sunlight into electricity, and nuclear energy provides a reliable and emission-free energy source. Despite the outstanding long-term opportunities, companies in these sectors have been in a correction on the stock market for months. For many, however, the bottom has now been reached.

Nuclear Power - No Thanks! E.ON, GoviEx Uranium, BASF - Questionable energy transition made in Berlin
Renewable energies are in focus! All well and good - Germany is repositioning itself. The focus is to be on hydropower, wind and solar energy. But these energy sources have little baseload capacity because hydroelectric power plants use "cheap" night electricity to pump water uphill, and reliable wind is probably only available offshore and not in the middle of Saxony. That brings us to the sun: On average, in our latitudes, it shines for about 146 hours a month, but in Alicante, it is 349 hours. Of course, large rooftop systems pay off for well-located households and one's e-mobile, but we cannot get a nationwide basic supply going with them. In the supply crisis, Berlin is relying on coal and gas power generation for now, but the much-touted climate neutrality is likely to be postponed to the next millennium. What should investors now keep an eye on?

Nel ASA, First Hydrogen, Volkswagen - Funding paves the way for green hydrogen
After the USD 750 billion US climate package, the European Union followed suit with the Green Deal Industrial Plan to remain competitive. At the end of March, the "EU Renewable Energy Directive" was rewritten with the goal of sourcing 45% of total power from renewables by 2030. This will add more speed to the expansion of renewable energies, which will ultimately also help hydrogen technology. The more green electricity is available, the cheaper green hydrogen becomes. At least EUR 100 billion are to be made available as subsidies by 2030. Today we look at 3 companies that could benefit from the subsidies.

Plug Power crashes, SMA Solar share plus 60%, and when will Almonty Industries start?
What is going on at Plug Power? Hydrogen shares are not among the investor favourites at the moment, but all dams are breaking at the US company. The share is now trading below USD 10 and EUR 9. Is an improvement in sight? The situation is different at SMA Solar. The share price of the German solar company is higher than it has been for 10 years. This year alone, it went up more than 60%. Time for a breather? The Almonty Industries share has taken such a breather in recent weeks. However, the tungsten producer is doing well operationally, and analysts see almost 200% upside potential as the Company faces a milestone.
