DAX on a record chase, and hydrogen is making a comeback! VW, Daimler Truck, First Hydrogen, Traton. Who can convince?
The EU wants to invest about EUR 25 billion in hydrogen over the next 10 years. To this end, the Commission has drafted the concept of a "Hydrogen Accelerator" to promote the use of renewable hydrogen. The "REPowerEU plan" launched for this purpose aims to produce 10 million tons of renewable hydrogen within the EU by 2030 and to import a further 10 million tons. It is hoped that this will provide an important building block for saving the climate. The private sector is also involved. We take a look at some of the key players.

It is a bombshell announcement that is expected to be made by the French Cabinet in Paris this week. As reported by Handelsblatt, in the future, emissions generated during the production of electric vehicles will be taken into account when promoting these vehicles. Until now, France, similar to Germany, has provided incentives for each electric vehicle priced below EUR 47,000. With the new law, Chinese manufacturers could be left out. Clear signals at BYD, Globex Mining and Plug Power
The growth rates of electric car companies continue to be enormous, as the recently published sales figures of the Chinese market leader BYD show. The trend will likely continue at least until the end of this decade. According to a forecast by Statista, there will be 116 million electric vehicles worldwide in 2030, representing an increase of 1,800% since 2020. However, the transformation of the transport sector is causing an enormous demand for industrial metals. For some critical raw materials, demand is already outstripping supply.

Car manufacturers like Volkswagen apply for a whole series of patents every year. Many of them never become relevant. A few months ago, however, Volkswagen and a partner company filed a hydrogen patent that is quite something. There is talk of a fuel cell that, thanks to a ceramic membrane, is more efficient and enables ranges of up to 2,000 km for one tankful. Will the patent bring about the hydrogen revolution in private transport? We analyse the situation and look at three listed companies.

Panic at Vonovia and Plug Power - Barrick Gold and Tocvan Ventures shine
Concrete gold? Real estate stocks are currently in an absolute panic. The share of Germany's industry leader Vonovia recovered somewhat yesterday, but an end to the downward slide is not in sight. Analysts are also skeptical. The range of price targets is broad, and there is already speculation about an (emergency) capital increase. So buy or sell? The Plug Power share could also use some buying. From a chart perspective, the situation is critical. Fuel cells for smaller forklifts are now being offered. The situation is different at Barrick Gold. The group's share is about to break out to the upside. Price targets for gold of USD 3,000 provide for a good mood. Tocvan Ventures should also benefit from this. The gold and silver explorer published news about its project in Mexico yesterday, and the stock is waking from its slumber - there appears to be further air to the upside.

First Hydrogen, Volkswagen, Daimler Truck - The unstoppable energy transition, who is winning the race?
Canadian fuel cell manufacturer Ballard Power joins First Hydrogen for LCV test drive. The two companies are cooperating to produce the world's first hydrogen-powered vans. According to expert forecasts, the logistics industry will be worth EUR 13.7 billions by 2027. Change at Volkswagen's premium Audi brand is proceeding rather sluggishly. The regulations imposed by the EU are causing problems for CEO Duesmann, who sees it as unrealistic to implement everything that Brussels demands by 2025. Daimler Truck, on the other hand, is looking forward to a major order that will soon get 1.8 million people in the Hamburg metropolitan region moving. The Hamburg-Holstein transport authority signs a major order.

Freyr Battery, Auxico Resources, Plug Power - Rare earth battery boom in e-Mobility
One of Norway's largest financial services companies is increasing its equity stake in Plug Power, the US hydrogen fuel cell company. The reason: Nikola Motors has selected the Company to upgrade its new e-mobility fleet with clean fuel cells. Freyr Battery also has similar ambitions. Here, Impact Clean Power Technology, the Polish manufacturer of battery systems for heavy-duty vehicles, has signed an agreement with Freyr to purchase clean batteries. Both big deals have one thing in common: demand for rare earths and valuable metals to make green technologies a reality. That is where Auxico Resources, a mineral exploration company focused on Africa, comes in.
