The Ukraine conflict still dominates the markets around the globe. However, most indices have been playing a de-escalation scenario in recent days. The DAX has already made up more than 2,000 points since its low. In contrast, precious metals such as gold and silver are losing massively, and the oil markets are reducing the exaggeration, at least in the short term. In terms of individual stocks, it is mainly the hard-hit banks and financial services companies performing well. In contrast, there are still attractive opportunities in various technology stocks.

The nervousness caused by the dramatic situation in Ukraine is also spreading to the global capital markets. Germany's leading index, the DAX, fell to a new low for the year of 12,431.50 points. In contrast, individual scientists are cautiously optimistic that the new variant could be the beginning of the end of the pandemic and the change to an endemic. In an endemic situation, people continue to become infected with the virus; however, by that time, most people's immune systems have already been exposed to the virus or are protected by vaccination, so there is no longer a burden on the health care system. A more normal life would thus be possible again, with significantly fewer restrictions.
