Defense Metals, BYD, Nordex - Buy the trend!

  • RareEarths

Whether a laptop, cell phone, electric motor or wind turbine - rare earths are an indispensable raw material for producing all these goods. The megatrends of electromobility and renewable energies, in particular, are fuelling demand. Motors for electric vehicles and generators for wind power plants require powerful permanent magnets, and this is where rare earths such as neodymium and dysprosium come into play. We show you how to profit from this trend.

Aixtron, Defense Metals, Nordex - Strong growth

  • RareEarths

The global economic recovery and rising investment in more climate-friendly energy infrastructure are driving higher commodity prices amid supply chain disruptions. Shortages of industrial metals, which are urgently needed for climate change, are likely to materialize further in the coming years. The swelling trade conflict between the USA and China will exacerbate this significantly. There is a threat of massive bottlenecks in production and sharply rising prices for the respective materials.

Defense Metals, Varta, Nordex - Scarce metals are the new gold!

  • RareEarths

Whether gallium, chromium or rare earths - many metals are indispensable for modern technology. Where supply bottlenecks or shortages threaten, researchers have now determined the criticality of 62 elements in the most comprehensive analysis to date. As it shows, the supply risk is particularly high for the metals needed for the highly specialized tasks in high-tech devices. Iron, copper, nickel and tin, and almost all other metals of the periodic table, make our modern civilization possible. Most technical applications would not exist without them - from cars and computers to televisions and cell phones. How do companies deal with fragile supply chains and shortages?

Varta, BYD, NIO, Tesla, Almonty Industries - Battery becomes next billion-dollar topic!

  • RareEarths

The extent to which reality sometimes diverges from stock market trends is especially noticeable in hotly traded stocks. Early last week, it was the postponement of CureVac's vaccine launch that caused the stock price to lose 50% briefly. Then on Friday, there was the virtual AGM of Varta AG. The mood was very good in the run-up and the share reached a 5-month high of EUR 142. But then there was a correction of over 10% and the price found itself yesterday at EUR 127. The reason: premium manufacturers like Porsche are now going into battery research themselves. This opens up a competitor for Varta among the intended customers - they certainly had not bet on this, but the battery issue is a billion-dollar thing!

Volkswagen, Defense Metals, Salzgitter AG - Disastrous consequences!

  • RareEarths

The NATO summit in Brussels last weekend once again showed the increasingly hardening relations between the USA on the one hand and China and Russia on the other. At the same time, the NATO powers seem to underestimate how dependent they are on the Middle Kingdom in terms of the energy transition. By capping access to rare minerals essential for electric vehicles, wind turbines and drones, the Western states are threatened with a bottleneck that will have a major impact on the development of new technologies.

Varta, BYD, NSJ Gold: What investors should watch out for

  • Gold
  • Energy
  • RareEarths
  • RareEarthElements

The die is cast: Cars will go electric in the future. A clear course has also emerged in monetary policy in recent years: Central banks tolerate more inflation and stimulate the economy. Governments are also in a spending mood: infrastructure, state aid, investments for the future - at the latest since the outbreak of the pandemic, the powers that be have been governing according to the principle of "What is the cost of the world?" We present three shares that can profit.

Infineon, Defense Metals, Aixtron - It is getting tight!

  • RareEarths

Supply bottlenecks in various industries, e.g. wood, metals, semiconductors or chips (see Infineon and Aixtron in this article), are causing prices to skyrocket. Whether only a short-term phenomenon, it remains to be seen. One area that is heading for ever-increasing demand with manageable supply is "rare earths." Particularly for producers or prospective producers or exploration companies, such as Defense Metals, this should pay off in the medium term.

Plug Power, Defense Metals, Xiaomi - Easing or escalation?

  • RareEarths

A trade war between the US and China has been raging since 2018. Now, at the end of last week, news broke that the US Department of Defense has removed Xiaomi, a Chinese technology Company, from its blacklist and all sanctions will be lifted. A ray of hope in relations between the two superpowers? Probably not; after all, the dispute over human rights in China intensifies the conflict between the two countries. Should there be further escalation, the West faces a resource bottleneck that will not only jeopardize the energy transition.

Ballard Power, Varta, Defense Metals: This trend is still in its infancy

  • RareEarths

All investors want to invest in the future. But what does this future look like? For many private investors, hydrogen was the topic of the future for many months. But hydrogen investors are now pretty much left out in the cold. Car manufacturers have turned their attention to battery cells, and there are other opportunities for investors to profit from the technologies of the future. But what about the current representatives of hydrogen technology? Are the opportunities for entry favorable right now? Or should investors take to their heels?

Defense Metals, Daimler, Siemens Energy: Rare earths facing a new hype?

  • RareEarths

In 2010, the first hype about rare earths occurred. Even then, it was apparent that digital technology would not be able to do without rare earths. As a result, shares of mining companies increased in price by up to 1,000%.
Currently, there is a lot of talk about e-mobility causing raw material resources to become scarcer. However, the talk is mainly about copper, nickel, lithium and perhaps silver. Rare earths are mostly forgotten, although they are used in many electronic devices, fighter jets and wind turbines.
China controls 80% of the world market and, according to media reports, is considering restricting exports of rare earths. Doing so could have a significant impact on all industries that require rare earths.
