Gold is experiencing a historic upswing, driven by a shift in central bank policy, unabated central bank purchases, and escalating geopolitical tensions. This rare constellation is pushing the price of the precious metal into unprecedented territory and creating an extraordinary environment for selected miners. The exciting question is: Which companies are best positioned to benefit from this boom? The answer leads us to Barrick Mining, Kobo Resources, and Newmont.

The 2025 investment year is nearing its end, with gains of just under 20% in both the DAX 40 and NASDAQ 100 indices. These two benchmarks remain the focus of attention for European investors, as they represent the benchmark for portfolios in their respective areas. Asset managers did not have an easy time of it until the middle of the year, as they had to switch back to "normal mode" very quickly after Trump's tariff correction in April, despite all the uncertainties. This meant bringing their clients' portfolios back into "risk-on" mode, which is very nerve-wracking in the current environment. Excessive government debt, never-ending geopolitical conflicts, and creeping inflation are leading to higher interest rates, which are considered poison for growth-oriented equity investments. Where can money be made in 2026? With today's selection, we attempt to navigate our way forward through the fog.

Who would have thought it? Gold and silver are the clear winners among defensive assets in the 2025 investment year. Protection against inflation, geopolitical risks, and fiscal-policy uncertainty has made precious metals shine, which, despite all the doom and gloom from tech stock market traders, were able to generate high double-digit returns of 57% and 82%, respectively. Of course, a 10% drop in the US dollar is weighing on returns in euros, but there is still a nice profit left in the account. Gold and silver mining stocks and, selectively, some explorers performed even better. In today's peer group, we turn our attention to the African continent, where important changes in the regulatory and economic environment could transform local producers into potential cash machines in 2026.

100% price potential! Bayer, Steyr Motors, and gold gem Kobo Resources

Kobo Resources shares have awakened in the past week. The gold explorer gained 20%, and according to analysts, this is far from over. They see the fair value of the mining projects at more than 100% above the current company value. Bayer shares have performed particularly well this year. Very few would have thought a price increase of over 70% in 2025 possible. Now, however, analysts are putting the brakes on the euphoria. And what about Steyr Motors? The shares of the specialty engine manufacturer have shifted into high gear again in recent weeks. Analysts are enthusiastic about the technology in this niche market. They see significant sales growth and rising margins.

Volkswagen, Silver North Resources, Albemarle – The comeback of value stocks

  • Mining
  • Silver
  • Commodities
  • Electromobility

2025 was the year of AI stocks. Hardly any other sector dominated the stock markets as clearly as companies in the semiconductor, cloud, and generative AI sectors. While these stocks chased new records and single-handedly pulled the major indices upward, large parts of the market fell by the wayside. Cyclicals, industrials, commodities, and classic consumer stocks remained in downward trends despite solid fundamentals. This is precisely where an exciting starting point is now emerging. Many of these "lagging" sectors are trading at historically low valuations, while sentiment is increasingly shifting away from AI high-flyers. The market is rotating, and 2026 could be the comeback year for undervalued value stocks.

Glencore, Laurion Mineral, Endeavour Mining – Demand explodes

The continuing high demand for copper and precious metals, coupled with rising prices, is putting increasing pressure on the global commodities sector while also creating new opportunities. More and more producers are responding with massive investment programs, expanded exploration campaigns, and the accelerated expansion of existing projects. Copper, in particular, is considered a bottleneck metal in the energy transition. Without additional production volumes, there is a risk of price volatility and supply bottlenecks in key industries such as electromobility, renewable energy, and semiconductor technology.

Gold & silver with a record year – 100% in 2026 too? Barrick, Kobo Resources, First Majestic, and Endeavour Silver

Gold and silver remain the surprise of 2025. Despite many prophecies of doom, both precious metals have so far managed to hold on to their record highs of USD 4,350 and USD 58.50, respectively. After a brief correction at the end of last week, the highly volatile silver price quickly rose back to the USD 58.00 mark. Experts warn of an approaching pain threshold for short sellers and futures speculators. They had hoped to be able to close their uncovered positions at a favorable price before the approaching settlement date on November 28. Far from it, because on Friday, metals took off again. According to traders, it is currently almost impossible to procure sufficient quantities of physical silver to cover the many derivative transactions. This is leading to unusual behavior on the market. So where should investors pay close attention now?

The stock market is showing its volatile side. While AI, defense, and tech stocks are consolidating, gold and silver are skyrocketing. Sector rotation is therefore in full swing at the end of the year. It is time to take a closer look at some notable movements, because every bull and bear market contains the seeds of the next reversal. DroneShield up 1,000% and then down 75%, AJN Resources suddenly up 200% from a standing start, and Gerresheimer, a fallen angel down 60%, a battered member of the German SME sector. We take a closer look at these stocks – where is it worth taking action?

A bombshell at Puma! Takeover rumors surrounding the sporting goods group are gaining momentum again. The share price exploded by over 14% yesterday. Could there even be a short squeeze? Commodity investors take note. Antimony Resources has established itself among investors this year, celebrated operational successes, and its shares still appear to be inexpensive. In the latest report, the resource estimate for the antimony project in North America was doubled. The potential for this critical metal is expected to be finalized as early as the first quarter of 2026. With an order in the bag, DroneShield's stock gained more than 20% this week. A rebound or a new upward trend?

Barrick Mining's share price has risen by over 100% in the current year. The consolidation of the gold price in recent weeks has had virtually no impact on the Company, and analysts see further upside potential. The Company is closing a billion-dollar deal, and the major problem within the group appears to have been resolved. Now, precious metal prices are rising again. This should also herald a return to prosperity for exploration companies. Kobo Resources is emerging as a hot takeover candidate. The gold explorer has reported high-grade results. A neighbor will be watching developments closely. And what is First Majestic Silver doing? The Company has divested itself of a stake.
