Platform strategies are shaking up the biotech market: BioNxt, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Evotec

  • Biotech

In biotech, the all-or-nothing principle no longer applies. Instead of offering just one product, the platform economy is becoming the norm in the development of tomorrow's active ingredients. What does this mean? Companies are working together, sharing their technology, and thereby reducing their dependence on individual projects. Since each player can focus on its core competencies, new active ingredients are brought to market faster, and even innovations in niche areas can gain significant traction thanks to strong partners. We explain what platform economics means in the biotech sector and how investors can benefit from it.

Buying frenzy – Indices are heading upward! Another 150% possible with Palantir, European Lithium, VW, and BYD

  • Mining
  • Lithium
  • Electromobility

The NASDAQ and DAX 40 indices are basking in sunshine. A veritable buying wave is sweeping across tech stocks, especially Palantir Technologies. The share price continues to rise, driven by an almost irrational demand for AI and outstanding business performance. At the same time, short positions on this stock are rising sharply to over 50 million shares - a warning sign of potential short-covering scenarios. There is currently no sign of the typical summer slump. On the contrary, the stock markets are climbing from one high to the next as if the tariff decisions were a blessing for the global economy! In contrast, BYD is experiencing weaker-than-expected sales performance in July. Quarterly figures are down, and the stock is coming under considerable pressure. There is also plenty of movement in the commodities sector, as the US seeks stable supply chains. But where can these be found?

Rheinmetall & Hensoldt disappoint! The real WINNERS of the DEFENSE BOOM: Alzchem and Almonty!

  • Mining
  • Tungsten
  • Defense
  • Investments

Rheinmetall and Hensoldt have disappointed stock market investors with their quarterly figures. Growth, profitability, and, in particular, order intake are lagging behind high expectations. Are the second-tier companies perhaps the real winners of the defense boom? Namely, the suppliers that can deliver to virtually every defense contractor. Take Almonty, for example. The tungsten specialist is inundated with inquiries and is set to begin operations at the largest Western mine later this year. Defense contractors can only dream of such profit margins. Analysts see more than 50% upside potential. Alzchem is also doing good business with numerous defense companies. Among other things, the German company supplies specialty chemicals for explosives. A new major shareholder is causing a stir. However, not all analysts see room for further price gains.

Diplomatic preparations are in full swing, accompanied by growing international pressure. President Trump recently gave Russia an ultimatum to cease hostilities. At the same time, a large Russian troop build-up in Belarus – officially for military exercises – is causing uncertainty. Strategic investors are always on the lookout for price setbacks to seize rare entry points into quality stocks. The reasons for the setback can be short-term economic concerns, seasonal weakness, or, in the best case, profit-taking. As long as fundamental indicators point only to a healthy interim correction, such events have historically often been precursors to above-average returns. The focus is now on resilient companies with intact growth paths whose valuations have been attractively adjusted. Three promising candidates that embody these "buy-the-dip" opportunities across different markets are in the spotlight: TUI, Veganz, and Super Micro Computer.

Hydrogen turnaround? Bad news from Africa: First Hydrogen, thyssenkrupp nucera, BASF

  • Hydrogen
  • cleantech

According to a report in Der Spiegel, producing green hydrogen in Africa for export to Europe could be more expensive than previously thought. This is indicated by research conducted by scientists from the Technical University of Munich, Oxford, and ETH Zurich. According to the study, only 2% of around 10,000 sites examined across 31 African countries could produce at competitive costs by 2030. The reason lies in financing. Depending on the country in Africa, financing costs range between 8% and 27%, which is too high to remain competitive. Instead of the planned price guarantees of EUR 3 per kg of hydrogen, the EU would have to guarantee EUR 5 to ensure a reliable flow of hydrogen from Africa to Europe. What does this mean now for the European hydrogen economy?
