Is the turnaround coming for chip stocks? Intel, Nvidia, BrainChip, Aixtron and AMD

  • Technology
  • AI

Last year, semiconductors were declared the new gold due to blown-up supply chains and the resulting shortages. After the recent boom and the build-up of overcapacity, the market could now grind to a halt by 2023 at the latest. High inflation, a global economic downturn and a possible recession in the industry could do the rest. Last week, Intel was already in the red with a slump in sales. In contrast, other companies from the chip sector could report positive surprises.

Chip stocks like Intel have recently lost double digits on the stock market. But what about demand? Market researchers at McKinsey predict that the chip industry will grow by 8% annually until 2030 - and even more in selected niches such as the automotive industry. SAP, Meta Materials, Intel - Going above and beyond

  • Technology

The mastery of light, electricity and heat has played a vital role in technological advances throughout human history. Successes in electrical and electromagnetic technology, wireless communications, lasers and computers have been made possible as the behavior of light and other forms of energy has become better understood and how to manipulate it has been developed. Even the current burdensome chip crisis can be eliminated by changing the chemical properties of semiconductors using nanotechnology.

Intel, BrainChip, AMD: A chip like the human brain

  • Technology

Chips are in short supply. When assembly lines in Wolfsburg, Munich or Sindelfingen come to a standstill because of a shortage of inexpensive semiconductors, it is frustrating for the German automotive industry. But powerful chips and processors with entirely new architecture are also urgently needed for future technology. Machine learning and artificial intelligence are also placing new demands on chipmakers. We profile three titles.

Nordex, GSP Resource, Intel - Attention: it is not too late!

  • Copper

Months ago, we already drew your attention to the rising copper price due to the expected shortage. Currently, the base price is at a ten-year high. Due to the enormous demand resulting from the energy transition, the trend is likely to continue in the coming years. Large copper producers such as Freeport McMoRan, Glencore or Copper Mountain have already been able to multiply their prices. But it is not too late to jump on the current supercycle.

Sartorius, Intel, Royal Helium: How investors invest in the future

  • Investments

The crisis divides the economy: On the one hand, some industries are forced into change or disappear from the market. On the other hand, there are also winners of the crisis: shares in the healthcare sector profit from the increasing demand for healthcare or laboratory products. Chip manufacturers are happy about full order books and are beneficiaries of the growing digitalization. The megatrend of the past few years has gained additional momentum due to the pandemic.
