Central African Gold, Nordex, Varta - Performers for the second half of the year!

  • Gold

Climate and energy transition are more than just buzzwords. They affect us all to an ever increasing extent. The production of green energy and the currently also politically favored spread of electric mobility place considerable demands on the availability of raw materials, the sufficient production of green energy and the existence of an area-wide infrastructure. As steering mechanisms, states offer extensive support measures. A market for emission certificates creates incentives as well. It is also important to keep an eye on the development of increasingly stringent ESG standards in the investment sector. Companies that do not do their homework will sooner or later lose out. These three companies have the potential to profit from the energy transition. Who will win the race?

Varta, Nordex, Saturn Oil & Gas - Buy or Sell?

  • Oil

It was a generally positive week on the stock market last week; however, things seem to be more unsettled this week. After the jump above the 16,000 point mark in the DAX, profit-taking is to be expected. On Monday, negative news from Asia weighed in on the mood: In China, the retail and industry's economic data were weaker than expected. In addition, the spread of the Delta variant of the Covid-19 virus is worrying market participants. On the corporate side, analysts are speaking out. Varta, for example, has failed to meet expectations, and the forecast hangs on Apple. In contrast, the shares of Nordex and Saturn Oil & Gas have been recommended as a buy. A 200% price potential beckons.

Alcoa, FYI Resources, Varta, Nordex - Ready for takeoff in the high-tech sector?

  • Commodities

The current climate trend makes a necessity obvious - our planet needs relief from CO2 and further investments in sustainable energy generation. Global warming is already well advanced, and we will likely no longer stop the dangerous basic trend. Therefore, the decisive factor for our future actions remains the "impact", i.e. the intensity and quantity of the production of pollutants. Many companies have already taken hold of the baton and are converting their processes, while others are trapped in old operating procedures and are acquiring pollution certificates. The industrial value chain starts with explorers and mining companies, followed by the basic materials industry. We look at some representatives of this supply chain.

Varta, Barrick Gold, Aztec Minerals - Before the showdown!

  • Gold

There is currently no sign of summer doldrums on the capital markets. Not only BioNTech is exploding, shares of lithium and battery producers are also rising strongly. On the other hand, the gold price is going crazy: After better-than-expected data from the US labor market, the gold price buckled significantly at the start of the week and has only recovered slightly so far. Nevertheless, the industry has positive news: heavyweight Barrick Gold increases profits, and at Explorer Aztec Minerals, investors ask when the knot will burst? The battery specialist Varta is also exciting at the moment, and Friday will be a showdown.

Varta, Carnavale Resources, Airbus - High tech in a bind - Metals are scarce!

  • Commodities

Currently, metal prices are not calming down! That puts pressure on the supply chains. Many companies are struggling with their inventories at the moment. If too much is ordered, the shelves could overflow due to delays in completion and cause extreme costs later on because high working capital is a margin killer for the industry. But the problem is also more topical in nature. There are many orders on hand, but essential components such as chips are unavailable, causing sales to decline, despite full order books. Conversely: When everything returns to normal, prices for metals will probably have to correct sharply again because no one will order more because of full warehouses - a real dilemma for mines and industrial customers alike.

Varta, Deutsche Rohstoff AG, Nordex: Multipliers in the commodity sector!

  • Oil

Commodity companies are currently sitting in the front row. But not all of them can profit! Only if a company has invested in recent years can it now deliver. Mining operations worldwide are currently working at the limits of their capacity, and supplying customers is also causing increasing problems. That is because supply chains have been badly hit by a lack of transport capacity, skyrocketing freight rates and pandemic-related outages. It is particularly noticeable in industry: Procurement prices for raw materials and precursors are going through the roof. We take a look at the books of some of the companies involved.

QMines, Varta, Siemens Energy - Who benefits from the copper shortage?

  • Copper

The copper price has moved significantly upwards over the past year. On the one hand, this is due to the increasing demand caused by sustainability topics such as renewable energies, e-mobility and global electrification. On the other hand, the metal has become scarce. Whereas 60 profitable copper projects were launched in 2008, only 36 were established in 2020, and this with declining mining values. In 2015 0.65% copper per ton was still being mined; this value will fall to 0.55% by 2025. Existing large copper mines will also need billions in the coming years to maintain their production levels. These additional costs will be passed on to consumers. Today we highlight three companies that either produce or need copper.

Defense Metals, Varta, Nordex - Scarce metals are the new gold!

  • RareEarths

Whether gallium, chromium or rare earths - many metals are indispensable for modern technology. Where supply bottlenecks or shortages threaten, researchers have now determined the criticality of 62 elements in the most comprehensive analysis to date. As it shows, the supply risk is particularly high for the metals needed for the highly specialized tasks in high-tech devices. Iron, copper, nickel and tin, and almost all other metals of the periodic table, make our modern civilization possible. Most technical applications would not exist without them - from cars and computers to televisions and cell phones. How do companies deal with fragile supply chains and shortages?

K+S, Theta Gold Mines, Varta - Explosion in construction materials and raw materials!

  • Commodities

The price rally in essential commodities continues. An acute shortage of building materials has caused some sharp price increases on construction sites. As reported by the Federal Statistical Office, in May 2021, solid structural timber increased in price by 83.3% year-on-year, roof battens by 45.7% and structural timber by 38.4%. The increased prices of wood and steel and industrial metal are driving up construction costs: reinforcing steel in bars was 44.3% more expensive in May 2021, and reinforcing steel mesh cost 30.4% more than a year ago. The main reasons for the rising lumber and steel prices are likely to be rising demand at home and abroad during the Corona pandemic and problems in the supply of raw materials. By comparison, the producer price index of industrial products rose 7.2% over the same period - the most significant monthly increase in 25 years. Who are the beneficiaries of the shortage rally?

BYD, Kodiak Copper, Varta: E-car investments - here is how investors reduce risks

  • Copper

Copper is the metal of the past fifteen months. Why? Quotations stabilized early on after the Corona Crash. At first, only industry insiders took notice of this relative strength. But it was the starting signal for a copper rally, unlike anything the industrial metal has seen in a long time. From the low in 2020 to the high in 2021, copper has climbed by almost 140%. Which trends are responsible for this, and how investors can invest.
