Nordex, Triumph Gold, Varta - Which shares are coming through the current crisis well?
The current market environment is anything but easy. Inflation is galloping, and while the US is gradually raising interest rates, the EU is exercising restraint and hoping that inflation will fall on its own. However, this scenario is more than questionable, especially since the exit from Russian energy imports is additionally fueling inflation. In addition, there is the Ukraine crisis. The conflict has blocked the land route from China to Europe, leading to supply chain problems. The only options left are by air, which is not economical in most cases, or by sea. Due to China's Zero-Covid policy, further major delays for shipping are currently occurring at their ports. Today, we look at three companies and analyze who should do well through the crisis.

Varta, Nordex, Nevada Copper, JinkoSolar: supply chain broken, copper is the new gold!
Global copper inventories and production rates are currently below the level of recent years. This is due to the limited availability of new projects, which can only be put into production slowly and will still consume some investment. In copper recycling, the industry is making progress, but the necessary rates of increase to supply new markets remain too low. Then there are the troubled supply chains, which make it difficult to move larger volumes of raw material at the moment. In the first four months of 2022, copper inventories on commodity futures exchanges were below 2021 levels, and LME inventories in London are likely to fall further because of the demand-pull. The physical copper shortage is not hysteria - it is now a reality on the exchange with spot prices above USD 10,000. Where are the opportunities for investors willing to take risks?

Exploding interest rates: Nordex, Hong Lai Huat, Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank - How to escape inflation?
And once again, lockdown in China. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a prolonged downturn in Asia would leave significant signs of a slowdown in the global economy. The upward trend of the economies is already permanently burdened by disrupted supply chains, exploding supplier prices, and sharply rising interest rates. Actually, this would be the programmed swan song for the stock markets. But far from it: For 4 weeks, the stock markets have been gradually rising, and the DAX is currently even delivering buy signals. Investors are probably speculating on the lush dividend season and an imminent end to the war in Ukraine. Until then, however, the conveyor belts in some industries will stand still for a while. What are the current opportunities and risks?

Plug Power, Barsele Minerals, Nordex - Prepared for the crisis
A ghost is haunting, not only in Europe. It is the ghost of stagflation. Stagflation means stagnating economic growth with rising inflation. Russia's invasion of Ukraine has now added another factor of uncertainty. The central banks are being challenged. While the Fed reacted by raising interest rates for the first time, the European Central Bank has shone by failing to act. The consequences for consumers are drastic, and inflation is likely to weigh on us for a long time to come due to the food and energy crisis.

Volkswagen, Phoenix Copper, Nordex - Act quickly
The German cabinet wants to minimize dependency on Russian oil and gas and, at the beginning of April, passed the so-called Easter Package at the suggestion of Vice-Chancellor and Federal Economics and Climate Protection Minister Robert Habeck. It has been the largest amendment to energy policy legislation in decades. The Easter package comprehensively amends various energy laws in order to accelerate and consistently drive forward the expansion of renewable energies. To put this amendment into practice, the demand for raw materials, which are already in short supply, will drastically increase, positively affecting producers.

Nevada Copper, Aurubis, Nordex - Fueling the energy transition!
A study commissioned by the International Copper Association (ICA) concludes that copper demand will be strongly driven by the massive expansion of cabling for solar, wind power and electric vehicle infrastructure. Experts estimate that the volumes demanded from the solar and wind sectors will multiply by 2040. A projected increase in the number of charging ports for electric vehicles from 3.2 million in 2021 to 152.3 million in 2040 will exponentially increase copper demand in this sector. As a result, an increasing supply shortage is emerging, which in turn will lead to further price increases for the industrial metal. Copper producers such as Nevada Copper or recycling companies such as Aurubis will benefit from these general conditions.

Phoenix Copper, Nordex, Tesla - Gold rush mood at the beginning of the supply chain
If the EU turns off the gas tap from Russia, alternatives are needed quickly to keep Germany running as a business location. With its wind turbines, Nordex SE is facing cybersecurity challenges, and Tesla shareholders are looking anxiously at the antics of their CEO, who is putting on yet another corporate hat. Producers are reeling from supply chain disruptions and other unreliabilities these days. So it is good to know there are reliable companies at the top of the supply chain: Phoenix Copper, with its raw material deposits of copper, gold and zinc, is not only an explorer on the hunt for the best mineral resources but also a collector.

New major trend determines share prices: BASF, Saturn Oil + Gas, Nordex
Those who invest along major trends ride the waves of the market with a tailwind. Trends such as population growth or digitization are here to stay and have far-reaching consequences - even if there is another slight dip in economic development. A new major trend is emerging that is something like the answer to globalization. We remember: For decades, people celebrated economic networking and the division of labor. Many economies, as well as companies, became specialized. But with the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, the golden age of globalization is over: regionalization and autarky are on the agenda instead. We explain what this means using three companies as examples.

Varta, Phoenix Copper, JinkoSolar, Nordex: Numbers upon numbers, where is the explosive?
The copper price reached its preliminary high on March 7, 2022, at around USD 10,730. Since then, we have seen a standard consolidation of 3-4%, which is not an unusual occurrence in the present uptrend. Thus, the coveted metal has exploded by over 100% since the beginning of 2020. Large mining groups and copper mines have often been able to post a multiple of this performance for themselves in the same period. For many market participants, the medium-term upward scenario for the industrial metal remains set. Since the political closing of ranks on e-mobility, demand for copper and battery metals has shot through the roof. Mine operators and governments worldwide are alarmed because the current recoverable capacities cover just 85% of the current year's demand. Who can close the gap?

Nordex, Altech Advanced Materials, Varta - Winners of the energy turnaround!
Renewable energy generation and energy storage are taking on an increasingly important role. The challenges for the infrastructure with decentralized energy sources are also increasing. Given the explosively rising lithium prices, which are essential for the production of batteries, innovations are gaining importance. Some solutions have the potential to powerfully shake up the industry. Long-term investors can profit from the megatrends in various ways.
