Cancer in Focus: Merck & Co., Vidac Pharma and AstraZeneca

According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), part of the WHO, there are currently around 20.6 million new cancer cases worldwide. The annual death toll is estimated at approximately 10 million people. In recent years, more than 53 million people globally have received a cancer diagnosis. According to the WHO, the number of new cases per year is expected to rise to about 35 million by 2050. Two factors are generally cited as the main drivers: demographic change, with the global population getting older, as well as rising rates of obesity, physical inactivity, smoking and air pollution in many countries. Unsurprisingly, the oncology market is correspondingly lucrative. Oncology is the world's largest pharmaceutical market. There is, however, also some good news: the age-adjusted risk of dying from cancer is declining thanks to earlier detection, targeted therapies and advances in immuno-oncology. Today, we take a closer look at this market through the stocks of Merck & Co., Vidac Pharma and AstraZeneca.

Leading oncology centers have long recognized that the fight against cancer cannot be won with just one active ingredient. It is increasingly clear that lasting treatment success depends on combining multiple therapeutic approaches. For years, oncologists relied heavily on conventional chemotherapy. Yet tumours consistently prove resilient and demand more complex therapies. Since patents on many active ingredients are expiring anyway, new, complementary forms of therapy are gaining prominence. One of these therapies targets the disrupted energy metabolism of cancer cells and shows promise. We examine the market and introduce an exciting biotech company that few experts are familiar with.

Created and published on behalf of MustGrow Biologics Corp.

In an era where business models can be copied almost as quickly as your morning coffee order, a true competitive advantage no longer comes from good ideas alone. Instead, it is built on the rare kind of technology that cannot easily be replicated—platforms backed by decades of proprietary data, manufacturing processes requiring multi-billion-dollar investments, or patented technologies protected by significant regulatory barriers. Companies that possess these durable competitive moats secure not only margins but entire markets. Three companies embody this approach in completely different ways—and could provide investors with a blueprint for above-average returns. We take a closer look at SAP, MustGrow Biologics, and TSMC.

Everyone Has to Pay—Why Investors Could Profit: The Toll Secret of InterDigital and AbbVie, Plus Globex Mining's Portfolio of 272 Resource Projects

The global economy is like a jungle, with toll booths waiting at every turn—anyone who wants to pass has to pay. A recent example is the rebranding of Siemens Energy to Omterra: even after being spun off from the Siemens Group, the company still has to pay for the right to use its former parent company's name. This toll-booth business model exists across many industries. Companies that own assets, technologies, or rights that others need can generate highly profitable, recurring revenue streams. We take a closer look at three compelling business models and highlight investment opportunities that could prove especially rewarding during periods of economic and technological transformation.

Biotech and the Efficiency Revolution: Why the Final Mile Matters Most for Novartis, BioNTech, and BioNxt

While biotech investors long believed that only the discovery of an entirely new molecule could pave the way for a billion-dollar exit, the current market reality paints a far more nuanced picture. Savvy investors and industry analysts are increasingly recognizing that the true bottleneck in modern medicine is no longer the discovery of active ingredients alone. Instead, the strategic focus is shifting toward bioavailability, targeted drug delivery, and improved patient compliance. This transformation is being accelerated by the looming patent cliff, which threatens the pharmaceutical industry with combined annual peak revenues of several hundred billion US dollars by 2030. We take a closer look at the market and highlight emerging opportunities.
