What to buy cheap? BYD and Uniper, BASF and Manuka Resources are on the rise

Even if BYD delivers close to 100,000 vehicles to Sixt in the next few years, this is not a guarantee for rising share prices. After all, major shareholder Warren Buffet is divesting his Chinese hobby horse. Does he know more? Is it a portfolio decision, or does he want to preemptively counter possible geopolitical surprises related to Taiwan? We do not know. The fact remains: Buffet has a lot of followers, and that is forcing the BYD price further and further down. Meanwhile, BASF reports good numbers and pushes further north with a seasonally firm DAX - who would have thought? We dive a little deeper.

New year, rising prices? BASF, BioNTech and Manuka Resources - Shares in check

  • Mining

  • Biotechnology
  • chemicals

As the stock market year 2022 draws to a close, we look ahead to 2023. New year, rising prices? That is what many stock market players are hoping for. The chances are that we will see rising indices again with the end of interest rate hikes in the coming year. Today, we look at three companies likely to attract attention in 2023. At BioNTech, the research pipeline is full to bursting, and there are numerous study results to come. BASF is attractive due to its low valuation and high dividend yield. However, analysts warn of a write-off risk. Manuka Ressources convinces with a profitable core business, and an exciting project in the field of critical raw materials could lead to a revaluation.

TUI share soon to be a penny stock? BASF, BioNTech, Cardiol Therapeutics - buy or sell?

  • Biotechnology
  • chemicals

Buy or sell? It is not only the BASF share that is currently the subject of clearly differing opinions. While the gas price brake plans on Monday caused euphoria among investors and correspondingly rising prices for the shares of the chemical company, analysts from Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley continue to express pessimism. Experts are similarly cautious about the prospects for TUI. UBS even sees the share of the tourism group on the way to becoming a penny stock. Analysts are more optimistic about BioNTech, but the share is not making any headway at the moment. In contrast, experts see massive upside potential in the biotech gem Cardiol Therapeutics. Cash is now equal to market capitalization, and drug development is making progress.

BASF, Manuka Resources, Varta - Buy when the cannons thunder!

That is Warren Buffet's motto, and the Oracle of Omaha has done very well with it over the past decades. In the biggest crises, the investor always made a bold move, while others waited rigidly in fear. This could also be observed during the last Corona Crash. Many waited for lower prices, or at least a retest of the lows, which never came. At the moment, it seems to be the case again that no one wants to buy shares, and this is precisely where the opportunity lies. No one can predict the exact low, but if you want to be there, you have to get in at some point. We look at three companies that have great potential.

Uniper and Kion in shock, partial mobilization at BASF and Meta Materials

For the first time in recent history, an announced appearance by Putin did not take place. In the morning yesterday, the news finally rang out that Russia had been so afraid of for the past few weeks: Putin announced partial mobilization. It likely involves an additional 300,000 troops who will now go into mobilization. News about the war apparently only impacts the stock market if it also conceals economic news, because the market rose despite expected escalations. However, the consensus now seems to be that a sharp slowdown in economic growth is expected worldwide. Currently, many stocks are adjusting to a new view: interest rates are back, so capitalization models are recalculating, especially for growth stocks. Where should attention be paid now?

Who benefits from recession and inflation? BASF, Viva Gold, K+S

  • Mining
  • Gold

The market is currently staging a minor bear market rally. The reason: Falling energy prices and the first signs of lower inflation are fuelling hopes that the central banks may pause their interest rate turnaround sooner than expected. The prospect of a soft landing for the global economy has even sent cyclicals rising again in recent days and weeks. But what if inflation stays or the economy shrinks significantly in 2023?

Oil will still be needed in 100 years! Fill up with these stocks: Shell, BP, Saturn Oil + Gas, BASF

With a view to the future energy supply, major question marks remain, especially in Europe. The dependency on Russia is historical, and the future relationship with the largest owner of raw materials in our latitudes will probably be rather frosty from a European perspective. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen recently presented a plan to break away from fossil fuels from Russia and, at the same time, accelerate the energy transition. But to become completely self-sufficient, the European Union would need to invest nearly EUR 300 billion in infrastructure and energy supply relationships by 2030. Meanwhile, there are secret winners in this predicament who are making a killing in the current environment.

Erin Ventures, Uniper, BASF - How business continues to grow outside Germany

  • Mining
  • boron
  • chemicals

Old hands in the market like BASF are in a strong transformation process. Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine has put the energy supply from gas on the line. But global players like the Ludwigshafen-based company already have a plan B, to the delight of shareholders. The situation is very different at Uniper AG. Here, the great dependence on Russian gas supplies and the expensive world market contracts that the Company had to conclude brought Germany's largest gas supplier to the brink of bankruptcy in recent weeks. The German government is spending EUR 15 billion to keep the Company afloat. At the taxpayer's expense. Erin Ventures shows where it is really worth investing now with the Element Boron.

The first half of the current stock market year brought heavy losses due to political and economic uncertainties. For the leading American index, the S&P 500, this led to the most significant price correction since the 1970s. In Germany, the DAX 40 lost around 20% of its value. Investors are now eagerly awaiting the second quarter results. In addition to Deutsche Bank, carmaker Mercedes-Benz also posted surprisingly good results. The chemical company BASF is also more confident despite the existing gas crisis.

Crash stocks: BASF, Meta Materials, Uniper, Nordex - Will there be a comeback like Tesla?

  • Technology

In stock market corrections that come from the interest rate and inflation side, when the relationship between inflation and capital market returns normalizes is critical. In the long NASDAQ upswing from 2019 to 2021, valuations doubled as future cash flows were extrapolated down to present value with minimal interest rates. That let potential market caps explode, and leveraged positions could also be taken at virtually no cost. Currently, the market is showing a different side. Negative real interest rates, high refinancing costs and increased margin calls are weighing on investors' minds. Some stocks experienced a real crash - will they bounce back soon like Tesla?
