Osisko Metals, Globex Mining, Critical Metals – Billion-Dollar Potential Underground

Gold remains in demand as a safe-haven metal, copper is becoming indispensable for power grids and AI infrastructure, and the West wants to break free of its dependence on China for rare earths. This is increasingly putting raw material deposits at the centre of strategic investment. Yet new mines do not emerge overnight. Exploration, permits and financing determine who can actually benefit from rising demand. Particularly interesting are companies that already control large deposits or participate in new discoveries through equity stakes and royalties.

Osisko Metals – New Copper Discoveries Fuel Expectations

Copper demand is rising, while developing new deposits is becoming increasingly difficult. Osisko Metals reported strong drilling results at its Gaspé copper project in Québec, Canada. As part of the ongoing exploration campaign, the mining company has presented current data from 12 drill holes covering a total of 38 mineralised zones. One drill hole delivered a notable result, measuring a copper grade of 1.47% over a distance of 94.4 m.

The investigations also indicate a previously unknown structure. The company is currently examining whether this points to a third, separate mineralisation centre within the project area. The aim of the ongoing work is to improve the statistical confidence of the existing resource estimates. Deposits that have so far only been inferred are to be upgraded to more reliable categories, and the known boundaries of the deposit are to be extended further.

Analysts assess the company's shares predominantly positively and recommend buying them. On average, the experts see the share price target at CAD 2.87. Assuming a current share price of CAD 1.77, this would represent a potential gain of around 62 %. Expert estimates range from CAD 2.50 to CAD 3.40. Banks, such as the Bank of Montreal and the National Bank of Canada, continue to rate the shares "Outperform".

Globex Mining – Gold Discoveries Without Risk

Globex Mining Enterprises has a business model that is particularly interesting in the current commodities boom. The current portfolio comprises 274 projects, including 105 royalty interests. Of these projects, 136 focus on precious metals, while a further 138 focus on base metals, rare earths and speciality commodities. The holdings include more than 40 former mines, and over 80 projects have historical or NI-43-101 resource estimates.

Globex is also financially sound. In July, the company reported more than CAD 40 million in cash and marketable securities, no debt and a management shareholding of around 14%. The key feature of this model is that partners often finance exploration and development, while Globex can benefit from option payments, equity interests and royalties, thereby ensuring ongoing cash flow.

The October 6 announcement illustrates the potential. At the Bartec property in Québec, partner LaFleur Minerals intersected 8 m grading 6.05 g/t gold, including 3 m grading 14.96 g/t. Globex holds a 2% gross metal royalty on the property. The true thickness of the mineralisation has yet to be determined.

Further high-grade intersections come from the Duquesne-West project. There, partner Emperor Metals recently reported 32 m grading 5.9 g/t gold. Globex holds a 50% economic interest in the project through Duparquet Assets.

Copper, antimony, lithium and rare earths offer additional opportunities. Growing demand for strategic commodities in particular could make further projects economically attractive. Globex benefits from its broad diversification. Each new discovery by a partner can unlock additional value without the company having to bear all the exploration costs itself.

Critical Metals – Greenland Project Clears a Crucial Hurdle

Rare earths have long since become a strategic issue. Without dysprosium, terbium, neodymium or praseodymium, numerous high-performance magnets for electric motors, wind turbines and military applications do not work. With its Tanbreez project in Greenland, Critical Metals aims to develop a new Western supply source and has completed an important regulatory step. The Greenlandic government has officially ruled on the mining and closure plan for this heavy rare earth deposit. This permit is valid through September 2050, thereby securing an operating period of around 24 years for the company.

The project involves extracting 19 critical elements, including heavy rare earths such as terbium, dysprosium and yttrium, as well as the magnet metals neodymium and praseodymium. Before construction can begin, specific operating permits are still outstanding, covering areas such as environmental protection, transport and occupational safety.

Following the announcement of the approvals, research firm Clear Street updated its assessment of Critical Metals Corp. shares. Clear Street maintains its rating at „Buy“ and confirms the price target of USD 20. The analysts view the regulatory approval as the expected step that paves the way for construction work to begin. As a near-term operational development, the provision of housing facilities for mine workers is expected next month. A possible completion of the acquisition of European Lithium by the end of November is also mentioned.

In contrast, Freedom Broker has adjusted its assessment of the company and downgraded the shares from „Buy“ to „Hold“. It cited delays in the development of the Tanbreez project, which deviate from the original schedules, as the reason.

Osisko Metals reports high-grade copper discoveries, while Critical Metals is making progress on a strategically important rare earth project. Globex Mining occupies a different position: through equity interests and royalties, the company can participate in numerous commodity projects without having to bear high development costs itself everywhere. The latest gold intersection at Bartec shows how this model fuels additional expectations. Gold, copper and critical metals could be among the major investment themes in the coming years.

When the stock market gets it wrong: Schott Pharma clears its name; Lahontan Gold and Instone are the next candidates

Markets are quick to judge, and often paint companies with a broad brush. When one company runs into difficulties, its competitors immediately come under suspicion too. Schott Pharma has already been through this and dispelled the doubts with strong figures. Its share price is recovering. For Lahontan Gold and Instone Real Estate, the recovery has yet to come. The Canadian gold explorer is being punished alongside the major producers, while the property developer is being grouped with Berlin's residential landlords. In both cases, the facts tell a different story. The share price upside is considerable.

Moderna has already made the big leap. Yet the best trial data in the company's history sent the shares tumbling, because the success was already priced in. The situation is different for two stocks that have also reached crucial milestones but still attract little attention on the stock market. Desert Gold Ventures is on the verge of its first gold production in Mali. Nuclear power specialist Oklo has commissioned its first reactor, but still needs a little more time before its commercial breakthrough. Analysts' price targets for both shares are several times their current prices.

The stock market is no petting zoo. Investors seeking returns have to go hunting themselves. Stock picking is the art of finding tomorrow's winners before the rest of the market wakes up. Under the leadership of industry veteran Klaus Eckhof, DRC Gold is working to take a stake in a gold project in the northeast of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This could take the company to a whole new level. CTS Eventim is attracting renewed attention thanks to an activist investor. This could boost the share price. Mutares has many irons in the fire. Who is ahead?
