Anglo American, Power Metallic Mines, BHP: Copper Supply Tightens as Mining Giants Respond

  • critical raw materials

Created and published on behalf of Power Metallic Mines

The recent correction in commodity stocks contrasts with the longer-term outlook for copper, as demand continues to rise. Power grids require modernisation, data centres are expanding, and industrial supply chains are being restructured. At the same time, mining companies are finding it increasingly difficult to develop new deposits. Declining ore grades, high investment costs and lengthy permitting procedures are limiting supply. While major producers focus on expanding existing mines, new high-grade discoveries are attracting increasing attention. Projects in politically stable regions that contain other strategically important metals alongside copper are particularly attractive.

Created and Published on Behalf of NSJ Antimony Corp.

The antimony market is gaining momentum again. Reuters reported that the EU is seeking closer cooperation with Vietnam to secure its supply of critical raw materials such as antimony. In Canada, Agnico Eagle is seeking to secure exclusive exploration rights at the historic Lake George mine. NSJ Antimony is also active in the region. The explorer has launched a drilling programme and is valued at less than CAD 20 million. Nordex currently has a market capitalisation of EUR 9.15 billion. Following the convincing preliminary figures, analysts have raised their short- and medium-term estimates. However, they are also issuing warnings. For defence companies such as Renk, warnings have recently grown that the defence boom will not last long enough to justify valuations. Renk counters with an order.

Rio Tinto, Almonty Industries, Energy Fuels – Markets Hesitate, but Demand for Raw Materials Is Growing

  • critical raw materials

The recent correction in commodity stocks is causing nervousness. Following strong share price gains, investors are taking profits, while volatile metal prices and economic uncertainty are adding further pressure. Yet little has changed in the long-term outlook. The expansion of power grids, artificial intelligence, the defence industry and advanced manufacturing consumes enormous quantities of strategic metals. At the same time, the US and Europe are seeking to reduce their dependence on China. This creates significant opportunities for commodity companies with their own deposits and concrete production plans.

The stock market is not linear. Greed and fear, excessive optimism or excessive scepticism—all of these drive markets. Only the future will tell what is cheap or expensive today. The stocks mentioned above are at precisely this point. Secure supply chains, access to raw materials and defence readiness are high on the agenda of Western governments. These long-term trends play strongly into the hands of defence companies and raw material producers. Almonty, in particular, as a producer of the critical raw material tungsten, holds a leading position in the sector. Where do the greatest opportunities lie for investors now?
