Rising interest rates, rising margins: Steinhoff, Desert Gold, Deutsche Bank and Commerzbank - Watch closely!
In the coming weeks, the moment of truth will strike for the national central banks of the eurozone because 20 years of money printing is taking its toll in the form of billions in losses. The respective state coffers will not only miss out on dividend payments but could even need capital injections. Bloomberg points to this development. The Swiss National Bank already made a start in February with a record write-down of 132 billion francs. The markets are now eagerly looking to the ECB and the US Fed. Incidentally, the taxpayer is liable for the central bank's balance sheet imbalances. If the write-downs on the bond holdings due to the quantitative easing of recent years exceed the equity capital, the member states are threatened with payment obligations. It would be a surprise if gold did not react positively to such news.

Banks and their risky gold bets: Credit Suisse, PayPal, Desert Gold
Credit Suisse will publish its quarterly figures on Wednesday, February 15, and answer analysts' questions. The market is looking very closely at the details of the crisis bank, which is in trouble because of the bankruptcy of Greensill Bank and the implosion of a hedge fund in 2021. Now stress is also looming around Credit Suisse's gold exposure. Reason enough to raise awareness of risks and highlight opportunities!

A wake-up call for gold - China as an indicator: Deutsche Bank, Alerio Gold, JinkoSolar
For years, gold has not been as exciting as it is today. Why? Central banks, like the Bank of China, have recently been bullish on gold. In addition, many economies will slide into recession in 2023 - traditionally, a good environment for gold. We look at the past, pick up on current facts and explain which stocks have potential.

Commerzbank, Aspermont, Munich Re - Financial stocks on the upswing
The end of the ultra-loose monetary policy and several larger interest rate steps already showed up positively in the half-year report of the major German banks. Should the ECB follow its big brother overseas, this promises further significant earnings potential. Financing platforms that combine the supply of scarce, promising commodity projects for the energy transition with demand from the capital market also hold great promise.

Shock inflation, what is left in the wallet in 2023: TUI, Pathfinder Ventures, Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank
In addition to an inflation rate of almost 10%, the first increases in utility costs are now fluttering into citizens' mailboxes. As already feared, the extreme increase in the cost of energy and electricity is putting a heavy strain on monthly budgets. Whether there can still be a vacation in 2023 will be decided by the length of the Russia conflict, which has kept fossil energy prices high so far. As investors can easily see, the high oil and gas prices are contributing to negative effects in almost all sectors; especially in winter, the supply situation in Central Europe is likely to be very tight. Which stocks should investors watch out for now?

Opinion dictatorship of big tech like PayPal: The government must do its homework
Anyone who operates at PayPal, Meta or other tech giants has to play by the rules - so far, it's normal. But what happens when market power and regulatory demands cross borders? Just recently, PayPal published a policy that would have fined users USD 2,500 if they spread misinformation. After an outcry, the payment service provider rowed back and now claims that the policy was published "by mistake." So it was all just a coincidence?

Stock roulette! Sell-off at Uniper and Deutsche Bank, Kleos Space sets a good mood!
Again a weak start to the week. After a tentative recovery in the first half of August, it is now back to business. With 13,930 on the DAX, the bear market rally seems to have been completed. Today, a low of 13,250 is already on the board again. The stock market now has war, even higher inflation and a coming recession to price in, so the relatively high level is already surprising. However, there is still hope, and some selected share titles have already fallen far. The time of the bargain hunters is thus perhaps also no longer far away. We provide a few ideas.

Fresh money for wallstreet:online, and K+S and Deutsche Bank in waiting position
The reporting season for the second quarter of the 2022 stock market year will be underway next week. As always, bank stocks in the USA will form the starting grid. It will be interesting to see how inflation, which has risen sharply in recent months, and higher interest rates, will affect the key figures. Compared with other sectors, the beaten-down financial stocks are favorably valued.

wallstreet:online, Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank - Which financial stocks belong in the portfolio?
Rising inflation is putting pressure on central banks. If one wants to fight inflation, interest rates must rise. While the interest rate turnaround has been initiated in the US, Europe does not want to act yet. If interest rates in Europe remain at the current level, everyone should invest their money to at least partially cushion inflation. If interest rates rise, the banks will benefit. In particular, the two large German banks have suffered from the low interest rate policy. Today, we look at three financial stocks and analyze which stocks belong in the portfolio.

Exploding interest rates: Nordex, Hong Lai Huat, Deutsche Bank, Commerzbank - How to escape inflation?
And once again, lockdown in China. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a prolonged downturn in Asia would leave significant signs of a slowdown in the global economy. The upward trend of the economies is already permanently burdened by disrupted supply chains, exploding supplier prices, and sharply rising interest rates. Actually, this would be the programmed swan song for the stock markets. But far from it: For 4 weeks, the stock markets have been gradually rising, and the DAX is currently even delivering buy signals. Investors are probably speculating on the lush dividend season and an imminent end to the war in Ukraine. Until then, however, the conveyor belts in some industries will stand still for a while. What are the current opportunities and risks?
