Biotech: Small innovations, big impact with Teva Pharmaceutical, BioNxt and Lonza Group
Anyone investing in biotech hopes to have the next big breakthrough in their portfolio: active ingredients that revolutionize everything, technologies that make a difference. In reality, however, biotechnology is characterized by many small but meaningful improvements. From an investor's perspective, it is also worth keeping an eye on these incremental advances. The reason: while the search for new, groundbreaking active ingredients is often a hit-or-miss business, small advances make it possible to generate consistent returns with relatively low capital expenditure. We present three promising business models that demonstrate the value-creation potential of incremental innovation.

Pfizer, BioNTech, Water Ways Technologies, Teva Pharma - High-Tech and the Pandemic!
Shortly after the start of the worldwide vaccination campaigns, Israel already showed itself to be the vaccination world champion. This is no coincidence because Israel is a high-tech country and one of the world leaders. The medical infrastructure, in particular, can benefit from this; it is very well developed and, despite the comparatively small size of the state, is considered to be very resilient. The pandemic has nevertheless hit hard on Israel's economy, which previously grew at rates of 3% annually. In 2020, GDP fell by 3.7%, according to the central bank. That things didn't get worse was due to the large government aid packages. These packages increased government debt from 60 to 73% of GDP, which is still low by global standards. Let's take a closer look at various business models in the healthcare industry to get a feel for what's next.

Cardiol Therapeutics, Formycon, Teva Pharmaceuticals: COVID in focus!
According to recent statistics from the WHO, nowhere is research currently more intense than in the area of viral diseases. At least 248 vaccine projects have been initiated against COVID-19 since January 2020, but only the research projects have already been reported. But of course, we humans do not only fall ill from flu viruses and their dangerous mutants, but the permanent change in our lives alone intensifies diseases that arise from lack of exercise and contact and sometimes cause worse consequences than a flu-like effect. Everyone is currently looking to hopeful vaccine solutions, but several biotech and pharmaceutical companies can still make us healthier with new developments.

Gilead, Teva, XPhyto - Global marketing potential
The best business models solve problems and are scalable. In this context, the healthcare sector is particularly interesting. The world's population has recently reached 7.8 billion people and for this reason solutions can meet a large potential market with users. Cross-border solutions are needed not only for pandemics, but also for diseases that are not mentioned in the mass media but are nevertheless of great importance. A successful market launch is of equal interest to those affected and investors.
