Blackout in Your Portfolio? Not with these energy boosters for dynamic investors: 200% potential with Nel ASA, A.H.T. Syngas, and ITM Power

The Petersberg Climate Dialogue makes one thing clear: the current energy crisis is, above all, a fossil fuel crisis. And that is precisely where an opportunity for climate protection lies. Rising oil and gas prices and risks are forcing countries to accelerate the expansion of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and electrification far faster than previously anticipated. What matters now is speed and consistency—something policymakers in Brussels have so far struggled to deliver. In practical terms, this means reducing dependencies, investing in clean technologies, and, above all, shifting transport and heating toward green electricity. At the same time, it is becoming clear that international cooperation is crucial, even if the phase-out of fossil fuels remains highly controversial globally. The bottom line: those who strategically leverage the energy crisis can strengthen security of supply while simultaneously accelerating the energy transition. For investors, there are numerous entry points into these scenarios today—but where is the right place to jump in now?

The stock market has its ups and downs. While Canadian hydrogen fuel-saving company dynaCERT had been stagnating for months, it is now making a breakthrough in Asia. The Canadians' fuel-saving technology is being welcomed with open arms in Vietnam, raising hopes for a hot summer in other Asian countries as well. While Plug Power already celebrated a stellar first quarter, industry rivals ITM Power and Nel ASA are now quickly following suit. However, the current excitement surrounding hydrogen offers little support for Jungheinrich's stock. Here, the Q1 figures are more of a reason to sell. What happens next? Read for yourself.

ITM Power, dynaCERT, Nel ASA – Maximum Rebound Potential

  • Hydrogen
  • cleantech
  • GreenTech
  • decarbonization

Following the massive slump of recent years, the hydrogen sector could be on the verge of a comeback. Two factors are now providing fresh momentum. First, the exploding energy demand from AI data centers; second, the growing tensions in the Middle East, which are tightening oil supplies and driving up prices. The pressure to become less dependent on fossil fuels is growing rapidly. Following the correction, low valuations now meet structurally rising demand. For investors, this creates a classic rebound scenario with significant potential.

As expected, the peace talks between the US and Iran in Islamabad over the weekend have failed for now. As a result, global stock markets are likely to remain under pressure at the start of the week. Many stocks face the risk of massive corrections and oversold conditions, which could be exploited as buying opportunities in the long term. In addition to the gold sector, interesting opportunities are also emerging in the hydrogen and drone technology sectors.

Raised sales forecasts in the hydrogen sector, a potential technological breakthrough in silicon-based high-performance batteries, and a cybersecurity heavyweight that is coming under pressure despite strong figures due to a weak outlook - the markets in 2026 are reacting with increasing selectivity. While future-oriented technologies such as electrolysis and next-generation battery materials are gaining operational momentum and targeting billion-dollar markets, the AI-driven cybersecurity segment illustrates how sensitive investor sentiment remains to forward guidance.

Hydrogen – New paths through the funding jungle: ITM Power, NEL, First Hydrogen

Europe has ambitious goals for the hydrogen economy, but its implementation is often hampered by complex regulations and bureaucratic funding processes. "We have ambitious goals in Europe, but implementation is stalling because we are getting lost in the details of the rules. Instead of triggering investment, we are creating complexity," criticizes Jorgo Chatzimarkakis from the Hydrogen Europe association in an interview with Telepolis. Many projects are still on hold due to unclear approvals or subsidy details. While large energy corporations can navigate the bureaucratic jungle, agile specialists are looking for niche opportunities. We shed light on the business models of NEL, ITM Power, and First Hydrogen.

After the parliamentary elections in France at the weekend, it is not only in politics that the course for the future needs to be set anew. Recent news from oil producer Saturn Oil & Gas revealed that it has taken a major step toward becoming a "midsize producer. Following this significant transaction, several analysts have given the share a thumbs up and see an opportunity for multiplication. The hydrogen sector is also seeing new movement, suggesting that a long-term rebound could be on the horizon.

Hydrogen shares: New favourites First Hydrogen and PNE instead of Plug Power and ITM Power?

  • Hydrogen

Hydrogen stocks have electrified investors' imaginations for years. But 2022 pure plays like Plug Power, Nel and ITM Power have disappointed. Not just in terms of share price performance but operationally as well. In contrast, newcomer First Hydrogen was one of the high flyers. The share price shot up by more than 100%, and the hydrogen commercial vehicles passed the tests. The Canadians want to continue to step on the gas in the current year. The share should benefit from this again; at CAD 200 million, it does not appear expensive. Now the German PNE is also entering the billion-dollar market. Following the end of takeover speculation, new impetus from green hydrogen is welcome. ITM Power sends a sign of life with an order from Linde.

China causes a bang in Qatar: Opportunity for Nel ASA, Plug Power, First Hydrogen, ITM Power

  • Hydrogen
  • greenhydrogen

Germany wanted to secure liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Qatar to reduce its dependence on Russia. But now China is digging in and securing LNG supplies from the emirate for the next 27 years. During this time, 108 million tons are to be supplied. Germany only wanted to commit for 5 years. While this does not necessarily take the German government's deal off the table, it does show that gas supplies will continue to be anything but secure or cheap in the future. And it shows how vital hydrogen will be in the future and that policymakers must push for its promotion because hydrogen from renewable energies can at least partially replace natural gas. Companies like Nel ASA, Plug Power and First Hydrogen can benefit from this. In 2022, however, only First Hydrogen was convincing.

BYD chases Tesla, First Hydrogen is undervalued, and ITM Power with a buy signal

  • Hydrogen
  • Electromobility

Hardly any other industry has such excellent prospects for the future as renewable energies. Whether electric mobility or hydrogen - all technologies are urgently needed and promoted. Among others, e-car manufacturer BYD is benefiting from this. In China, the Company is shining with significantly increasing sales figures and is on its way to knocking Tesla off its throne as the number 1 in the industry. It could happen faster than expected, as the Company plans to open its first showrooms in Germany and Sweden as early as October. ITM Power is overshadowed by Nel and Plug Power in the hydrogen sector. Analysts see a share price potential of over 100%. First Hydrogen also has potential. Analysts are currently observing the hydrogen newcomer's rise to the top tier and say there is an undervaluation compared to peer group company McPhy Energy.
