Some companies are brimming with substance – and yet their share prices barely move. Three current examples illustrate different forms of this phenomenon. Mountain Alliance is an investment company whose portfolio is worth significantly more than its share price suggests; Lahontan Gold is an explorer whose freely accessible precious-metal resources far exceed its market capitalization; and Mercedes-Benz is a classic that investors are currently shying away from due to political and economic concerns.
