Plenty of upside potential: Plug Power, Standard Lithium, Defense Metals

  • Mining
  • RareEarths
  • Lithium
  • renewableenergies

After Nel ASA exceeded sales expectations in the second quarter, Goldman Sachs recommended the stock as a buy. The price target is NOK 20, offering almost 50% upside potential. Now Plug Power is also recommended as a buy, and analysts see a significantly higher price potential. Experts see nearly 200% price potential for Standard Lithium after the Company published convincing drilling results. Not yet on the screen of analysts is Defense Metals. But this could change soon. The Company is developing an exciting rare earths project in North America, and the preliminary economic valuation of over CAD 500 million gives the stock plenty of upside.

Raw materials war - is China getting serious? BASF, Mercedes-Benz, Almonty Industries

  • Mining
  • Tungsten
  • Electromobility
  • rawmaterials

Energy transition, smartphones, semiconductors, armaments and more are driving our hunger for critical raw materials. But woe betide if China gets serious and severely restricts the export of critical raw materials. There is already a foretaste: the minerals gallium and germanium can no longer be exported without Beijing's approval. China is by far the leading producer of critical raw materials and rare earths. The EU gets 71% of its gallium and 45% of its germanium from China. So it urgently needs alternative suppliers. In the case of tungsten, Almonty Industries could provide supply. The Company is on the verge of starting operations at a huge mine in South Korea. From 2024, sales and profits are expected to climb sharply. Mercedes could also benefit from this. The Stuttgart-based company has just announced plans to invest billions more in electromobility. BASF, on the other hand, is going straight to China.

Plug Power and ThyssenKrupp with hydrogen momentum! Profit with Globex Mining

  • Mining
  • Commodities
  • Hydrogen
  • Electromobility

Hydrogen and electromobility are gaining momentum once again. First, there was the successful IPO of ThyssenKrupp Nucera, followed by record sales at Nel ASA and record profits at BYD. Plug Power and Globex Mining should also benefit from the positive sentiment. Plug Power has jumped and gained over 10% in the last few days. Analysts see further upside potential. The same is true for Globex Mining, which, as a mining incubator in North America, was allowed to profit from the next commodity boom. Analysts see 100% upside potential for ThyssenKrupp shares.

Nel share is unstoppable, but money is being made at BYD and Saturn Oil + Gas

  • Mining
  • Oil
  • Electromobility
  • Energy

Yesterday's quarterly figures from Nel were well received by the stock market. As a result, the share price reacted with a jump of over 8%. The hydrogen pureplay increased sales by 159% to NOK 475 million. The electrolyser business grew even more strongly. However, the net loss also rose significantly to NOK 342 million, but investors seemed to overlook this fact yesterday. The situation is different at BYD. The Company made a profit of billions in the first half of the year and continues to expand vigorously. The price war with Tesla does not seem to be leaving any impact. Oil producer Saturn Oil & Gas is also earning splendidly. In the first quarter, EBITDA increased by an impressive 332%. The Company aims to be debt-free by 2025. Will a substantial dividend come then?

Bulls at the controls: Nel, Barrick Gold, Viva Gold! What about BASF?

  • Mining
  • Gold
  • chemicals
  • Copper

Low inflation in the US has given new impetus to the bulls. Not only are growth stocks benefiting from the hope that the interest rate cycle is coming to an end, but also gold. Thus, the gold price reacted on Wednesday by jumping to over USD 1,960 per troy ounce. Top-tier gold stocks such as Barrick also responded positively. Exploration companies have significant catch-up potential, including Viva Gold. The Company is favorably valued and has again reported positive drill results. The fact that the interest rate cycle is nearing its end is also evident in the chemical industry. Most recently, BASF issued a warning, and there are sell recommendations. On the other hand, there are buy recommendations for the Nel share.

Top news: Volkswagen with problems, Plug Power and dynaCERT profit

  • Hydrogen
  • greenhydrogen
  • Electromobility
  • renewableenergies

Is the electric motor stuttering at Volkswagen? Recent reports indicate that it is. Prices for the ID.3 have been massively reduced in China, and most recently, Handelsblatt reported on sales problems for the Wolfsburg-based company's electric models in Europe. In the hydrogen sector, however, the mood has improved considerably. BloombergNEF predicts significant economies of scale for the industry, and the successful IPO of ThyssenKrupp Nucera illustrates investor interest. Pure-play Plug Power and newcomer dynaCERT can also benefit from this. dynaCERT is convincing with a positive newsflow, and one customer believes in a revolution. Analysts see 30% share price potential for Plug Power.

Battery revolution in Germany: BYD, BASF, Altech Advanced Materials

  • Batteries
  • renewableenergies
  • Electromobility

Negative electricity prices? Last weekend, it happened again. In the meantime, 1 megawatt-hour of electricity costs minus EUR 500. It is a pity that there are no large-scale energy storage systems - YET. Altech Advanced Materials is working together with Fraunhofer IKTS on the next-generation battery, and it is "Made in Germany." The next milestone is due this year, and the FAZ sees room for improvement in the share price. Analysts see no room for improvement in BASF shares and recommend "sell". However, the DAX-listed company has just commissioned a battery factory, and demand is said to be high. BYD is also benefiting from high demand. Will the Chinese company soon be producing their e-cars in Germany?

New hydrogen hopes: Nel, ThyssenKrupp and First Hydrogen

  • Hydrogen
  • greenhydrogen
  • fuelcell
  • renewableenergies

Attention Nel and Plug Power shareholders! After numerous hydrogen pure-plays had massively disappointed in the past few years, it was hard to get past the two industry giants. But now new players are coming into focus, like ThyssenKrupp Nucera and First Hydrogen. The subscription period for the Nucera IPO ends today. The eagerly awaited initial listing will take place on Friday. Is the entry worthwhile? Excitement is also mounting at First Hydrogen. Tests of its hydrogen fuel cell commercial vehicles in the UK are going better than expected and could soon lead to larger orders. The Company is also working to build a hydrogen production facility. And what is Nel doing? While the stock is battered on the chart, analysts see more than 50% upside potential.

Change of favorites in hydrogen shares! ThyssenKrupp instead of Nel ASA? Can Grid Metals take off?

  • Mining
  • Metals
  • Hydrogen
  • renewableenergies

Is there a shift in favorites among hydrogen stocks? It certainly seems that way. While former favorites Nel ASA and Plug Power are struggling, ThyssenKrupp is making a strong entry with the IPO of Nucera. The subscription period for the hydrogen subsidiary has been running since Friday, and demand already exceeds supply. In contrast, Nel ASA and Plug Power are being left behind. The Danes, in particular, are facing technical chart challenges and are struggling to maintain the EUR 1 mark. But perhaps the hype around Nucera is an entry opportunity for the established hydrogen specialists. And what about lithium? Stocks such as Standard Lithium and Alkem have been trending nicely in recent weeks. Grid Metals has yet to gain momentum, despite plans to process lithium as early as 2024.

Hydrogen vs battery shares: From Plug Power to Standard Lithium and Power Nickel?

  • Mining
  • Nickel
  • Lithium
  • Electromobility
  • fuelcell

Who does the future belong to? Hydrogen or battery technology? The truth likely lies somewhere in the middle, and both technologies will find their place. However, it is clear that batteries currently have the upper hand in the context of electromobility. This can also be seen in the stock market. While companies like Nel ASA and Plug Power are struggling, Tesla, BYD & Co. are celebrating record sales. But success is heavily dependent on the supply of raw materials. Lithium and nickel are scarce and in high demand. Standard Lithium and Power Nickel are among the profiteers. Standard Lithium is recommended as a buy by analysts with around 100% price potential. Power Nickel has again published promising drill results, which could multiply the upcoming resource estimate. Plug Power is currently overshadowed by the Nucera IPO, but there is some interesting news.
