Whether it is growing doubts at an energy company, innovative financing models in the global energy market, or increasingly optimistic forecasts amid the automotive transformation, the market is watching closely. Three listed players are currently attracting attention with operational progress and bringing fresh momentum to their respective charts. Technical breakouts and strategic milestones offer attractive entry opportunities, but they also require investors to closely assess risks and the viability of the business model. Which stocks could now be on the verge of a genuine trend reversal?

2G Energy: Share Price Down Almost 15% – Is the Order Boom Still Enough?

2G Energy AG was among the notable stock market losers last week. On Xetra, the share price fell by as much as 14.79% to EUR 46.02 before a recovery set in. The sharp decline showed how sensitively investors now react to doubts about the implementation of the ambitious growth plans. A renewed Sell recommendation from Parmantier & Cie added further pressure. The research firm confirmed its price target of EUR 39 and pointed to the demanding requirements for the second half. This reaffirmed an already sceptical assessment. The trigger was the publication of the half-year report, although its key financial figures had been known since late September.

The figures highlight the operational challenge. In the first half, revenue fell from EUR 169.9 million to around EUR 136 million. EBIT declined from EUR 5.7 million to just EUR 0.8 million. This left an operating margin of 0.6%. To meet the confirmed full-year guidance of EUR 440 to 490 million in revenue with an EBIT margin of 9.5 to 10.5%, the second half must be correspondingly strong. According to Parmantier's calculations, around 98% of annual EBIT would then have to be generated.

This is counterbalanced by exceptionally strong order intake. At the end of September, 2G again reported orders of more than EUR 400 million for the third quarter. At the same time, the management board raised its 2027 revenue forecast to EUR 600 to 650 million. For 2028, the company projected EUR 750 to 850 million for the first time. From 2027 onwards, the EBIT margin is expected to exceed 11%. The prospects remain substantial, but require successful production expansion and on-schedule project execution.

One example is Energy Vault's order for 275 megawatts for American AI data centres. Delivery is scheduled between the fourth quarter of 2027 and the third quarter of 2028. Long-term services complement the business. This order thus opens up opportunities for later years. However, this alone does not support the short-term earnings targets.

From a technical analysis perspective, the slump significantly worsened the situation. The shares fell below the 200-day moving average at EUR 51.40 and closed clearly below it. For an initial easing of pressure, the round-number level of EUR 50 would first have to be regained. A sustained return above the long-term average would then be important. Until then, counter-moves may merely represent temporary recoveries within the correction.

    RE Royalties with Scaling Potential

The electrification of industry and transportation, the growing electricity demand from data centres, and artificial intelligence applications are driving up global demand for renewable generation and storage. In the US alone, approximately 86 GW of new power plant capacity is expected to be added by 2026, primarily from solar energy, battery storage, and wind power. RE Royalties benefits from this investment cycle not as a plant operator, but through royalty financing. The company provides capital to project developers and, in return, receives long-term, revenue-based payment claims. This reduces construction and operational risks, allowing the company to focus on selecting the right project developers.

According to the company, it has invested more than CAD 80 million since its founding in over 100 revenue-sharing arrangements for renewable solar, wind, hydro, storage, energy efficiency, and biogas projects in North and South America and Asia. The stated return on invested capital of over 19% per annum signals attractive contractual terms but also indicates the higher risk associated with smaller, individually structured financings. The most recent dividend of CAD 0.04 per share is considerable for a micro-cap stock but must be supported by a sustainable flow of project payments and viable refinancing. In an environment of rising interest rates, the need for refinancing increases, which in turn affects the profitability of new projects.

RE Royalties has now made a further investment of USD 1.0 million in its project partner Solaris, following the second tranche of USD 0.8 million in February. At the same time, a non-binding letter of intent (LOI) has been signed to expand the partnership. The potential investment could reach up to USD 62.7 million. The decentralised solar projects in the US underlying this LOI are expected to generate cash flows for at least 25 years.

With a share price of around CAD 0.30, the market capitalisation most recently stood at approximately CAD 13 million, well below the pipeline's communicated potential. On March 27, 2026, the Board of Directors therefore initiated a strategic review and commissioned PwC Corporate Finance. Among other things, the review is examining partnerships, co-investments, capital structure, and potential transactions. The company cites approximately CAD 20 million in short-term letters of intent and an additional CAD 200 million in potential investments under review. For investors, RE Royalties remains a speculative small-cap stock. Further value appreciation will require disciplined capital allocation, binding agreements, and the continued expansion of recurring revenue.

ElringKlinger: Higher Revenue Forecast Drives the Stock—Will It Break Out?

ElringKlinger AG was among the standout gainers among German automotive suppliers last week. On Tuesday, October 13, the stock rose about 7% to EUR 5.20 and closed the week at EUR 5.39, a total increase of just under 13%. An upward revision to the revenue forecast and better preliminary quarterly figures sparked buying interest. This brought an important technical resistance zone back into focus.

The Dettingen an der Erms-based group develops and manufactures components for the international automotive industry. Its product range includes seals, shielding systems, lightweight components, and battery and fuel cell technologies. ElringKlinger thus serves both traditional internal combustion engines and alternative powertrains. In addition, the company provides solutions for other industrial sectors. The restructuring of the product portfolio is intended to open up new business opportunities, while the established business must continue to make a significant economic contribution.

The catalyst for the jump in the share price was the upward revision of the forecast published on October 13. The Executive Board now expects consolidated revenue of around EUR 1.8 billion for 2026. Previously, it had only announced organic growth slightly above the prior-year level. In 2025, the Group generated revenue of EUR 1.641 billion. The remaining annual targets and the medium-term outlook were confirmed. However, the announcement did not include a higher earnings forecast.

The preliminary quarterly figures nevertheless showed progress in profitability. In the third quarter, revenue reached EUR 451 million, up from EUR 395 million in the same period a year earlier. Adjusted operating profit before interest and taxes rose from EUR 21.2 to 29.2 million. The corresponding margin improved from 5.4 to 6.5%. The company therefore succeeded in converting a larger share of its revenue into operating profit.

The financial position also improved. Net financial liabilities stood at EUR 350 million at the end of September, compared to EUR 389 million a year earlier. However, operating free cash flow remained negative after nine months at minus EUR 29 million. Despite the improvement, further action is still needed. The company is scheduled to publish the full quarterly results on November 5.

From a technical analysis perspective, the rise brought the stock back to several closely spaced resistance levels. The 200-day moving average was most recently around EUR 5.04 and was breached. The 50-day moving average stood at EUR 5.18, and the 100-day moving average at EUR 5.21. This constellation reinforced the significance of the resistance zone between EUR 5.00 and 5.25, which has already been contested multiple times. For the recovery to continue convincingly, the stock would first need to break sustainably above this zone. Now, the EUR 5.40 level, as well as the EUR 5.50 and 5.60 marks, must be breached on a weekly closing price basis. Only a recapture of these levels would significantly brighten the chart picture. However, if weakness returns, the 200-day moving average in the EUR 5 range could once again serve as a reference point. The upward forecast revision provided a clear catalyst. Whether this leads to a sustainable trend reversal now depends on further operational progress and confirmation of the breakout.

    Conclusion

Investors' doubts about 2G Energy shares are growing, and market participants are taking an increasingly critical view of the revenue and growth forecasts. RE Royalties benefits from renewable energy expansion through royalty financing and is examining strategic options for further growth amid a low valuation. ElringKlinger impressed with a raised 2026 revenue forecast and an improved third-quarter operating margin, but now faces a key technical hurdle.
