Uncertainty returns after the rises of recent weeks. In addition to equities, other asset classes such as precious metals and cryptocurrencies are also falling and marking a multi-week low. Besides the uncertain geopolitical situation, the culprit is mainly the fear of a global recession bundled with rampant inflation. It is challenging to currently filter out the right stocks from this overall negative environment. Nevertheless, many companies are shining with full order books and innovations and should benefit in the long term in the event of a turnaround.

Meta Materials, JinkoSolar, BioNTech - Smart technologies as growth boosters

  • Innovations
  • Technology
  • metamaterials
  • Biotechnology

Solar and photovoltaic companies have been hot in the financial markets since the shifts in the energy market. Chinese supplier JinkoSolar, for example, is now launching solar batteries for home use. Smart buildings are an important component in urban city planning. Where there is plenty of sunshine, its energy is converted for personal use, and Australian residents are benefiting from JinkoSolar's technology. In order to increase the efficiency of such energy sources, Meta Materials offers innovative solutions that make solar systems even more cost-effective. Thanks to numerous patents, they also have a business model, which will please long-term investors in terms of growth opportunities. Rather unpleasant, however, are the measures planned by the German government for the coming fall and winter. Masks or vaccination is the calculation, which will at least bring some joy to BioNTech shareholders.

These are currently rough times on the stock market. Almost all segments are under pressure, and even investments with long-term prospects are trading at significant discounts. Nobody knows where the bottom will be formed, but you can start to build up first positions. Today we have picked out three stocks to build on in the long term.

Rain of money for BioNTech shareholders: What are Nordex and Meta Materials doing?

  • metamaterials
  • Biotechnology

BioNTech shareholders are in for a windfall. A dividend of EUR 2 per share is to be approved at today's Annual General Meeting. Also on the agenda is a share buyback program with a volume of up to USD 1.5 billion. In addition, analysts at Goldman Sachs have commented positively on the German biotech champion. Meta Materials shareholders are still a long way from a dividend. But the hot stock has announced exciting details about its fight against stroke. At Nordex, by contrast, supply chain problems, plant closures and cyberattacks dominate the headlines. But analysts see the light at the end of the tunnel - and rightly so?

BASF, Meta Materials, NIO - New opportunities through the correction

  • metamaterials
  • Technology

Whether the old stock market rule "Sell in May and go away" still applies this year is at least doubtful. The DAX and S&P 500 benchmark indices have lost more than 10% since the beginning of the year. The Nasdaq technology segment was hit harder, losing more than 20%. Concerns about further interest rate hikes, the threat of stagflation and uncertainties regarding the Ukraine conflict are causing investors to go on a buyers' strike in some cases. Nevertheless, there are good long-term, anticyclical entry opportunities at current levels.

BASF, Meta Materials, Varta - A huge new market is emerging here!

  • Technology
  • metamaterials

Science fiction or soon a reality? Metamaterials are artificial materials with specific optical, magnetic or electrical properties that do not exist in nature. These tiny innovative materials can be used in a wide variety of ways. A well-known example is stealth technology. Metamaterials can change the refractive index of light and thus guide the light around an object. The industry is still some way from mass production, but experts estimate that will soon change. As early as 2030, the market is expected to be worth USD 11 billion, with a strong upward trend.

BYD, Meta Materials, Salzgitter AG - Unabated rise

  • metamaterials
  • Technology

Inflation is rising relentlessly and is likely to last far longer than predicted by the monetary authorities at the beginning of the year. The Russian war of aggression in Ukraine and the resulting sanctions have caused extreme price increases for energy and raw materials. Trade flows and supply chain relationships have also been severely impaired. Uncertainty about further economic developments remains high, but the price increases due to the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine conflict are only partially reflected in the inflation rate to date. As a result, the industry can expect higher costs in the coming months. By contrast, producers of various materials are benefiting.
