Next oil crisis? Shell, Globex Mining, Glencore, Gazprom - Which stocks can deliver?

  • Oil
  • Commodities

Ongoing armed conflicts in Ukraine may escalate into a global commodity and economic crisis. After all, supply chains have already been severely impacted by the global COVID pandemic. Believing that these irrationalities will eventually be put behind us, Central Europe, in particular, is now threatened with an energy shortage not seen for 50 years. The last oil crisis dates back to 1972/73 when on November 25, 1973, car traffic came to a standstill throughout Germany for the first time. In response to the rising fuel and heating oil prices, the German government had imposed a driving ban on four Sundays under the Energy Conservation Act. Will it come to that again - almost unthinkable today? We take a look at crucial raw material suppliers.

Hensoldt, Gazprom, Triumph Gold - These stocks will explode like Alibaba!

  • Gold

The Ukrainian crisis has triggered a humanitarian catastrophe and a deep and extended price increase around the globe. Inflation is galloping, so central banks will have to react soon. In terms of COVID-19, not much is likely to happen after the freedom declarations, but whether the economy can sustainably gain momentum remains questionable. Supply chains have been disrupted, interest rates for financing are rising vehemently, and there are many question marks on the raw materials side, especially in the metals sector. As if by magic, there was a strong countermovement after the sell-off in China and Hong Kong in the last few weeks. And Alibaba & Co. made leaps of joy of up to 25% plus. We look at other price share price curiosities.

Defense Metals, Gazprom, ThyssenKrupp - Winners and losers

  • Defense
  • RareEarths
  • Military
  • Oil
  • Gas
  • Steel

A brave Ukrainian woman hunts down a Russian drone - with a well-aimed throw through a jar of pickled tomatoes. For defense, every means is justified. But there is also a more strategic way to invest in companies that supply raw materials for military technology - and without conflict for investors with a sense of justice. The German economy, on the other hand, could be in for a real shock if Gazprom makes good on its threats and shuts down Nord Stream 1 as a result of the sanctions. Germany is one of the biggest buyers of Russian gas. ThyssenKrupp is also benefiting from the current situation. It becomes quite clear what the Group is really gaining from right now.

Is this how Kostolany would invest? BASF, Globex Mining, Gazprom

  • Commodities

War only knows losers. On the stock exchange, however, things look a little different. The stock market reflects tomorrow's changes today and ensures the allocation of capital. When money flows from one sector to another, opportunities also arise for investors. Those who bet on the right horse at the right time, win. Those who make the mistake of betting on the high flyers of the past may experience a financial Waterloo.

Gazprom, BP, Barrick Gold, Ximen Mining - Putin's Ukraine conflict boosts gold and silver!

  • Gold

Over the weekend, the buzzword "mobilization of nuclear weapons" was heard in the media. In the ears of investors, the loud saber-rattling sounded like the starting signal for a gold and silver rally. Events then rolled over in sequence: Russian accounts were frozen, the SWIFT system was disconnected, and there were likely payment difficulties at Sberbank. The sponsorship contract with Gazprom was terminated by Schalke 04 without notice. In this country, people are wondering what medium-term effects the Russian crisis will have on society, the relationship with Russia in general, and the economy. In this context, we are watching a few interesting stocks.

Gazprom, Sberbank, Defense Metals, Airbus: Buy when the cannons thunder!

  • RareEarths

The Ukraine crisis, or rather the Russia crisis, pulls its circles. The Putin case escalates more and more because the Russian president recognizes the eastern Ukrainian "separatist areas" of Donetsk and Luhansk as autonomous regions. A familiar tactics game of the Kremlin and at the same time an affront to the West. The EU and the US, as well as Great Britain and other states, are responding with sanctions. These hit several sectors - including banks and companies as well as Russian elites and families who support Putin's power apparatus. So far, trading in Russian stocks has not been sanctioned, creating low entry prices. We give a few important tips away from politics!

Barrick Gold, MAS Gold, Gazprom - The conflict and its consequences

  • Gold

The next level of escalation in the Ukraine conflict has been ignited, and the consequences are severe. Oil prices moved close to the USD 100 mark, posting their highest levels since the end of 2014, and the precious metal gold shot above the important USD 1,900 mark. The stock markets buckled dramatically in the first hours of trading, only to start a rally and price fireworks in the course of trading. Despite the still acute concerns about an expansion of the conflict, a trend reversal may already have been heralded in the German benchmark index.

Gazprom, Alerio Gold, ThyssenKrupp: Ukraine conflict resolution as a door opener?

  • Gold

At the moment, the world is holding its breath. Not since the end of the Cold War have so many soldiers come together on European soil as is currently the case on the border between Russia and Ukraine. While German Chancellor Olaf Scholz is focusing on diplomacy, Kiev and the Baltic states would like to see more signals of deterrence. We will see which path is the better one or whether, in the end, a combination will once again avert the worst-case scenario. However, the fact is that the threat of war is rattling the markets. We profile three stocks.

Shell, Saturn Oil + Gas, Gazprom: Oil price explosion to USD 120?

  • Oil

Oil prices again rose sharply last week and once again reached multi-year highs. Most recently, a barrel of Brent North Sea crude cost USD 92.80. That translates to an increase of approximately USD 13 since the beginning of the year. The price for a barrel of the US variety West Texas Intermediate (WTI) rose to a high of USD 92,20; thus, the spread between the oil variants is again historically low. Both grades rose at times to their highest level since autumn 2014. The triggers for the current bull market are primarily the Ukraine crisis and the cold snap in the US state of Texas. This has fueled concerns about production losses in the Permian Basin, the largest US shale oil deposit. Which oil stocks are now under the spotlight of investors?

Gazprom, Saturn Oil + Gas, Shell - Profit from rising energy costs

  • Oil

Over the past year, energy costs have skyrocketed and, apart from electricity, there seems to be no end in sight. The traffic light government wants to abolish the EEG levy as early as this summer, thus ensuring that the price of electricity will fall. For oil and gas, things look less favorable. Since the EU has classified gas as climate-friendly, demand will continue to rise. 630 gas suppliers raised their prices by an average of 53% at the beginning of the year. The oil price also continues to climb, although OPEC recently said that it does not want a price of USD 100. However, it is unlikely to be resisted. We look at three oil and gas companies today.
